When somebody says that “a man likes to feel like a man,” all I hear is “A man likes to feel superior to you and it’s your job to make him believe it.”Â
my secret talent is getting tired without doing anything
when someone corrects your grammar in a fight
A gay black man could be murdered in cold blood and nobody would give a fuck.
But let a gay white boy not be able to take his boyfriend to prom and all hell will break loose on the “injustice” they’ve had to go through, with a spot on the 11:00 news.
And Ellen giving them $10000
But at the same time, both issues need to be addressed. Both issues are valid. Just because a gay black man was murdered doesn’t mean that we should ignore the white gay boy not taking his bf to prom. Both are wrong. Both should be taken care of. Every case of homophobia is wrong, big or small.
You’re saying murder and not being allowed to take your boyfriend to prom are on the same level. This is why I made the post, you’re disgusting.
I’m saying that the gay white boy still has a struggle, not an equal struggle, but a struggle, and you’d be the person sitting at home, watching TV, not doing anything to help either side, see the story and get pissed because he’s white, and decide you’re going to rant about it on Tumblr. What have you done to actually help?
White gays are the face of the LBTQIA movement and have the most power in this community out of ALL of us. If Bradley can’t take his boyfriend to Prom all he has to do is make a video on Youtube fake sobbing to Ellen and she’ll wave her magic white gay wand and get he and his boyfriend VIP treatment to the prom, $10,000 and make them both Prom King. I’m not interested in rallying for white cis gays because they have all the help they can get. Their struggle is irrelevant to me, as long as I’m breathing there will not be a day on this earth that I spend the time to make life easier for white gays. What am I doing you ask? I’m raising awareness to the gross injustice that gay PoC have to deal with as opposed to the minor inconveniences white gays have to deal with. To say I’m not actually helping gay PoC clearly shows how ignorant you are in regards to who I am and what I’ve done on and off Tumblr. Don’t check for me unless I send for you, and trust me it’ll be a cold day in hell when that happens. Conversation over. White gays are privileged; LGBTQ PoC are being murdered and have higher homeless rates, and less access to resources. Therefore they’re more important and will be receiving 110% of my attention and help. Now catch this block.
*wakes up* yikes
