Sometimes Poe checks up on Chuuya
I'd just like to congratulate everyone on getting their predictions wrong because there's no way any one of us predicted this shit.
And my second art for @phfanzine as pinch-hitter~
leopika is very funny until you think about it for 20 minutes straight adn its fucking so sad and then u think about it for another 20 minutes and its funney again
What if the gang took the hunter exam a few years earlier so Leorio was still dirty, Kurapika was still happy, Gon was still raising Kon, and Killua was exactly the same (baby)
Broke: It’s called Hunter Hunter because Gon is a hunter and he is hunting for Ging who is also a hunter so he is a hunter hunter.
Woke: It’s called Hunter X Hunter because the hunters are dating
And he carried him into the sunset
All quotes are from outofcontextdnd
i’m so late to the hunter party but…..i have so much love in my heart for kurapika

I can’t believe an anime adaptation of an old school side scroller is making me cry about the main antagonist...
Even if costs your arms and legs...
I’ve always wondered if these words were Haise’s or if they were taught to him by somebody else, especially as in the manga the line is enclosed in quotation marks:
“Even if it costs your arms and legs” “Escape”!
Well, wherever are we supposed to recognize that line from?
A certain senior CCG investigator taught this to a young Amon:
When you’re in front of the enemy Even if it costs your arms and legs, fight
Noticed the almost identical phrasing?
Of course, neither Kureo nor Amon were at the CCG at the time Haise was, so I’ve always wondered whether the person Haise was quoting was Akira, as she was his mentor and mother figure.
There is one very important difference in the imperative, though: while Haise says “escape”, Kureo said “fight”.
(As a fun side note, while 手足 works as “arms and legs”, 手 does usually mean “hand”).
During his encounter with Touka and Hinami, Kureo follows his advice precisely: he loses a hand and a leg, and yet…
Fighting on means he meets his demise, as Touka only kills him once it’s clear he won’t take a step back.
The rationale Haise gives for his advice is this:
If Akira knew the condition Kureo was in at death, it would then make sense for her to have changed “fight” to “escape”: they are the words of someone who has lost someone to that kind of advice, and would thus say the opposite to keep it from happening once more.
