The Duffers are evil, evil people
not him turning into his father (canon fear for queer people)
not him ending up alone (canon fear for queer people)
not him getting the life will byers was fucking terrified of
mike and will, 1990
noah mentioning that lonnie was abusive when on the press tour despite lonnie not being mentioned once in s5 really shows how much better noah understood and cared about will than the duffers did.
the mileven ending scene was SO FUCKING ASSSSSSS??? el framing her suicide as being "her choice" and therefore justifiable???? mike absolutely crashing out even though these last few seasons he could have not cared LESS about el's feelings??? speaking of, el saying "you understand me more than anyone else" BITCH WHERE??? HE HAS BEEN SHOWN AGAIN AND AGAIN TO BE THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESNT UNDERSTAND YOU?? just look at the fucking "from, mike" fight in s4????? and then that stupid ass montage to purple rain. and mike not even saying "i love you" back. its just...... i thought that at the very least, even if byler wasnt canon, mike and el would break up, but apparently the moral of this story is "yes abused people, the first person you cling to after you escape your abusive situation IS your soulmate." im genuinely speechless
the way that he was genuinely confused about what happened here
he shouldve been writing graphic novels with will. but no. homophobia and ted wheeler imagery
I think this is what fucks me up the most. Even if they decided to never go romantic with them, they didn't have to tank their platonic bond also.
Whatever, say I’m reaching but I really have a feeling that Leigh (Ross Duffer’s ex wife) was the one that was behind byler. She directed the queer horror films Fear Street, and everything I’ve read about her seems to paint her as a vocal queer advocate, saying queer characters and relationships shouldn’t be subtextual, etc. She was married to Ross when ST began production and filed for divorce around s5 timeframe. Clearly Ross and Matt were not smart enough to do this all on their own considering they thought this finale was somehow incredible writing, so who the hell was behind all the byler evidence, build up and narrative set up in s1-4? And why did s5 suddenly backtrack on it out of nowhere? I feel like he killed byler to spite her or something. That or he and Matt just lobotomized the entire writing staff
i literally just remembered i had a parody tumblr account back in 2022 impersonating as his ex wife in the byler tag 😭😭 (wife back then i think). i forgot the lore behind that account but yeah LMFAO anyways
So basically what you're telling me is that there was ZERO need for Will to be in love with Mike whatsoever??
The thought of Will with a boyfriend that is not Mike Wheeler pisses me off so bad. What would they even do? What would they even talk about? Like that’s disgusting. Maybe I’m homophobic.
The eighteen month time jump to when the kids are graduating really puts into perspective how YOUNG Eleven and Kali were
Eleven said to hopper "I'm not a kid anymore"
honey yes you are, you are still so little
she didn't even survive junior year
she's 16 at most
she was a CHILD and so was Kali
those poor girls
real
suck my fat one duffers 🖕🏻
Having a queer character believe he won't find love and proving him right is not good writing.
Having a character grow up in solitary confinement and then ripping her away from the only family she's ever known to live a life of solitude once again is not good writing.
Having a character be in love with his best friend and then just compare it to a high school crush is not good writing.
Having Eleven say that Mike has always been the person who truly understood her after showing us in the previous seasons that he only sees her as a superhero IS NOT GOOD WRITING.
Having two girls be abused by a man with power for the majority of their lives only to leave them dead and alone as a direct consequence of the trauma they suffered IS VILE WRITING
what's all this then?
It was all an elaborate ruse to fool both us and Will. Otherwise, Will wouldn't have ever gotten the idea to hit on Mike after Robin talked about the signals she was getting from Vickie.
Will fell for it just like we did, and that was the idea.
So Will was in pain. he was feeling everything. EVERYTHING. he was getting stabbed, burned alive, shot at and split apart but that didn’t matter right? because god forbid you focus on the character that started this series because you wanted to focus on a bland, flat battle. great going
focus on the finale battle with our heroes instead of showing him in pain and not furthering the plot hole? will isn’t a hero?
so they really just fucking hate will is what im gathering from the last month lmao
