so will takes a page out of mike wheeler's jealousy handbook and won't. let. it. go! but, of course he doesn't care so he keeps bringing it up in "casual" ways that are actually just him losing the idgaf war. he's constantly trying to guess who mike's girl is, and he's constantly trying to be mike's bro about it (even though that's never been a dynamic he and mike have had with each other). eventually, because will is trying really hard to pretend he doesn't care, he actually offers to wingman mike like the cute, deluded, self-sabotaging, in-denial-about-still-being-deliriously-in-love-with-his-best-friend little idiot he is.

and mike wants to chew his own dick off because holy shit, will is being so persistent and mike is so in love with him and he can't take this anymore, so mike explodes and is like, "oh my god, will. it's you! I'm in love with you! but I know you don't feel the same so I didn't want to make you uncomfortable so please, please just. let. it. go!"
