Hello. I recently purchased your book. I wanted to say, i found it really entertaining and very cinematic. I could litteraly see every chapter like it was a epsiode of a tv series. Overall, i found it fairly easy to take in, it took me roughly three days to read fully.
I'm curious though. What were your intentions in writing and creating your story?
Well, firstly, thank you for reading it!
With this being, essentially, the first time I've recieved feedback on my book. This was really exciting for me to see. I'm just really really grateful you took the time to read it, and for reaching out to let me know you enjoyed it.
And to touch on your question. As to why i wrote my book. On a very surface level, my entire life I've wanted to tell a good story. Something that people really grasped and took in. So, if you truly found my book entertaining, that was my goal. To tell a story that people enjoy.
On a deeper level. When i gathered the characters, and started organizing the plot, in my brain. It was kinda the height of the Marvel comics cinematic universe. The first Captain America movie had just come out, and the Avengers craze had really hit the main stream beyond just the niche comic book fandom. And i had personally discovered Dr. Who, and was getting into that series.
And there was an episode where The Doctor made this claim of, "ghosts aren't real." And then went off in the sci fi explanations of aliens and technology and how ghosts are scientifically impossible.
And, me, being an avid fan of the supernatural and believer in the occult, i took that personally.
I felt like it was a challenge. That i needed to write and describe a world where the supernatural, ghosts, were real.
So, as i started writing and plotting out this story. I felt like, if it was about a single monster, a single entity, it wouldn't be enough. That if supernatural threats were a real thing, there would be more than one. So i was challenged with describing a world where every single monster, or supernatural creature that haunted anybodys thoughts or fears, could be real and physically exist somewhere outside of the pages and plot of the actual story.
And, while i took a lot of inspiration from mythology, demonology, cryptozoology, and even horror movies and sci-fi television shows. I personally felt like i was creating the equivalent the Supernatural Avengers by bringing all these ideas and mythos together.
But, overall. The intent of my story was to create a world were all of humanities darkest thoughts and ideas were physical tangible threats, that could be translated to real world standards.
That, when you put the book down, the idea that something that once existed in your nightmares might actually be lurking in the shadows around your home.
hello I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. The anonymity of tumblr means that I associate my idea/image of you with your icon and sometimes I look at people’s icons and I’m like ‘hmmm….what is that and why?’
so pls reblog this and comment in the tags the meaning behind your icon and why you chose it. this is a social experiment. do it for science pls.
Thank you all so much for all the likes and attention to my page!
Every like, reblog, and comment means so much to me, and helps me get me and my first book further into the world.
Which really is just truly invaluable to me. Thank you all so much. It means the world to me as an author just getting started.
And if you are just seeing me for the first time, i hope you take the time to check my page out, and see if my book's vibe might be something you would enjoy. 🩶🖤🩶
'Sackcloth froze in place before the scarecrow turned away from Christine, shooting a sharp glare at Wakanda. The glowing embers, where his eyes should be, erupting into actual flames, and long, smooth blades emerged from the frayed cloth of his fingertips.
He dismissed the animal curtly with his bladed hand before he said in a menacingly calm tone. "Excuse me, the adults are trying to talk."'

When things go bump in the night, the Paranormal Protection Foundation keeps you safe.
Boogeymen follows the story of Christine Chapman, as she finds her place in an organization dedicated to protecting the world from supernatural entities. Like the one that destroyed her childhood.
The book itself is a meditation on what it means to survive, lead, and hope in a dangerous world.
If you enjoy "Monster of the week" tropes. And stories similar to The X-files, Fringe, and the SCP mythos. Boogeymen might be right up your alley.
' With an exasperated breath, Christine looked around the eerie liminal landscape.
"Of course, it would be too much to ask the scanners to reach a pocket dimension..." she muttered under her breath. Mustering up her courage as she walked into the endless woods.
Pale moonlight cast haunting shadows through the branches, as she marched steadily forward through the labyrinth of dead trees.'

Her life was never the same, after that fateful night. When it all began...
With him lurking in the corner of their minds.
She nuzzled and kissed her daughter's head, whispering. "I love you so much, my beautiful girl." Before turning away from Christine, and leaving the room. She flicked off the light, blowing her daughter a kiss before she shut the door. Leaving the girl alone with the silent entity looming in the corner of the room. Shadows writhed around him like black snakes on the walls. It watched her like a statue as she drifted to sleep, nestled safely in her warm bed. Oblivious to the otherworldly being in the room.
With the shadows closing in, are you prepared to face the schism.
While i was writing my book, i was messing around one night. I thought it might be a fun writing practice to see if i could create my characters within Fallout parameters. So i played around with a Fallout stat planner for an evening while thinking about my protagonists.
It was a surprisingly entertaining way to pass an evening, while taking a break from writing. And really helped me get a better understanding of what my characters limitations and strengths actually were.
And i started thinking today while looking over my notes, sharing the stats i came up with might be a fun way to show my main character, Christine Chapman. And her found family from my story.

'With cold precision, Wakanda stepped out of the flames, narrowing her eyes at the men aiming their weapons at her. The glow of flames cast heavy shadows on her in the dimming light.
"You animals aren't accomplishing anything. I will rip the spines from your corpses!" She growled with a low seething intensity.'

God: *takes another puff like nothing was said* I am also adjectives. I am alive, I am dead, I am the first, I am the last, I am the past, I am the present, I am the light and I am the dark. I am also adverbs-
Sack:…Are you also my punishment for failing English in high school?
Note; it was Sack that was smoking. The actions were attached to Sack. God doesn't have a physical form in any way that can be perceived in the setting, and in a sense Sack was standing essentially inside them. But that was a really funny little addition.
Edit;
Obviously, everybody is entitled to their perspective and view of how God looks or functions. I was just speaking from the canon and context of the characters in the scene being from the universe within my book.
