Vashon Island Songbirds

I've been working without a smartphone/recording device for most of the summer, so here's a treat! I borrowed a camera and recorded the sounds of Vashon Island songbirds :) Nature soundscapes have many health benefits, so here's a 1-minute listen: http://youtu.be/xpv9JsLmXzs

I heard that marijuana grows out of the sidewalk cracks on Vashon Island, but walking around never saw any. There are however horsetail ferns growing from the crevices.

Ivy Leaves Sailing in the Wind

This is but a light breeze during the summer before I cleared the English Ivy from these trees. Upwards of a thousand pounds of ivy will grow up, choke, and add windsail to the host tree. This video is from the forest just north of the Lewis & Clark College campus. Watch Here!

Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures, kill nothing but time. Some people left litter in the wood, but if only they shall have understood. What we cannot use, as inspired by my muse, goes in a rubbage bin, not tossed to forest as sin. The porcelain watering can now transports water daily to some Save the Bees seeds, planted last month. I don't know if I'll use the running gingerbread man cookie cutter... but I like it!
