“… another chance to finally fulfilled my role… so everything would began as the world deemed it right…”

Those pair of ruby inside your eyes that shone brightly that even the sunshine pale in comparison. The eyes of a person who’s closest to the most bright person on this world, You-chan though to herself when she saw Chika for the first time. There’s a sudden urge to befriend the orange-haired girl, but surprisingly, it was the other girl that reached her first. She told her name was Chika and she wanted to be friend with You-chan. You-chan was beyond happy and she accepted it. Afterwards, they played until the sun set and their parents took them home. Not long after, they were inseparable and spend most of their times together.

As time goes on, unknowingly, You-chan slowly forgot about Yuri. It was a system that was planted by the strange man when they made the cure before, so she would never be sad when her time came to leave this world. A nice function, he said. As such, You-chan happily spend her times doing so many things with Chika, until the cruel fate that awaited her came to took her off. And the day came, just when she was about to visit Chika, suddenly a load of memories filled her mind. It was a glimpse of person she’s really familiar with but she didn’t know who’s that person was, and with that sudden insertion, she fell unconscious at the seashore. Someone found her later and took her home. Afterwards, as being told before, she was slowly being forgotten by people around her and by the last time she went to her home, she finally met with the girl inside her mind just before she fell unconscious before.

Her parents explained about the truth behind her existence as now Yuri was finally getting consciousness after her fall years before. And now, as You-chan would finally reached 17, Yuri would finally awoke and You-chan would fulfilled her role as the person who would save Yuri, the only daughter of Watanabe family. At that time, You-chan realized about what happened back in her childhood time, about her twin sister, about how she suddenly fell sick and how without anyone’s notice, she left her mind. You-chan was shocked and as such, she ran away from her house. She lived in Tokyo, escaping her cruel fate for about two years.

In Tokyo, she tried to find a clue about avoiding her own death and at that time, she met the strange man who helped her family back then. Yes, she didn’t knew about it. The strange man said that if she wanted to cure herself from the inevitable death that awaited her, she needed to find the flower that bloomed inside the sleeping forest in Uchiura. The violet-colored flower named Sunscythe. Seeing as there’s no reason to reject the idea, she went back to Uchiura.

When she arrived at the entrance of the sleeping forest, she caught a glimpse of Chika who sat outside of a cafe they usually went together. Thinking that she’d already forgotten about her, You-chan proceed to the forest while unknowingly, Chika followed her behind. At the time she realized there’s someone following her, You-chan was really afraid, but when she realized it was Chika, she smiled at herself and slowed down her steps. She greeted the girl with her smile and took her together to find the Sunscythe.

You-chan was really sad that her once-best-friend didn’t even recognized her because of the curse (she called the system a curse), but seeing that she’s still able to spend their time together, she complied with that side of fate and proceed deeper. At last they found the Sunscythe. The grim-looking flower that destroyed other plants around it. Knowing about the time when the flower would fully bloomed, she asked Chika to spend the night there together.

Slowly, she felt that Chika knew about her being her once-best-friend. The way she tried to made sure about her habits, the way she tried to test her thought about the real identity of her finally made You-chan to test her own theory that Chika might be not forgetting about her. So she showed the necklace that held a photo of her when she was with Chika back in her junior high time. Chika was really shocked by that revelation. How could someone who’s supposed to be dead was standing right in front of her? And so You-chan explained everything about the curse that people would forget her slowly, and when she reached 17 she would death to took out her sister’s disease.

Chika was shocked. She never knew about You-chan having a twin sister. Moreover, there’s something strange about the whole story. Why was there’s always a strange man that helped them whenever something bad happened to the family? Just who is this strange man that appeared out of nowhere and acted as if he’s a savior to anyone? When Chika though about any possibilities, the said man suddenly appeared out of nowhere in front of the two girls, bringing Yuri along with him.

“So, someone realized about my magic, huh? As expected of the child of the sun.” the strange man calmly revealed his interference in You-chan’s family’s problem

“Why are you taking Yuri with you here!? What’s your intention in doing this?” Chika started her questionings

“Oh, her? She’s just a pawn I needed to get a hold of that girl beside you. That girl is my main target. The girl who’s filled with the sun power even though she originated from the depth of the sea. That cursed child who managed to destroyed my life back in our past lives. This time, I will not fail in delivering judgment to that cursed girl!!” The strange man now looked like a believer of occultic religion

“So that’s why you helped me back then? You were trying to trapped me inside this forest so you could kill me here.” You-chan looked afraid but she held it on

“If you’ve already realized my intention, why bother going inside the forest, then?”

“Of course so I could help my sister. There’s no way I would let you treat my sister like a doll anymore. You will pay for mistreating my sister and my family!”

“Your family? Don’t make me laugh! You’re just an incarnation of a girl who lived in the past that I summoned with the cursed Sunscar flower’s power. Hahaha” You-chan was shocked by the revelation

“You-chan…” Chika was worried about her friend

“It’s okay, Chika. It was so obvious that I came from another realm, seeing as I was born out of a mirror. Hehehe.” finally calmed her mind

“So you still had the energy to endure the supposed despair I brought onto your family? Interesting. Then, you also knew that if you took a sip of that Sunscythe flower, you will fully materialized here in this world and your sister here would die instead?”

“N-No way!!!?”

“Ahahahahahaha. Well, even if you did know about it now, it doesn’t really matter anymore since we’re now in a realm of the past.” Chika now realized why she never entered the forest before. The forest itself wasn’t there from the very beginning. It was being brought there by that strange man

“You planned this really well, huh?” Chika weirdly looked so calm

“Of course. And by the way, you are also included in my list, little girl. Just seeing your face really makes me want to puke. You pair of cursed children!”

“So, we fight now, huh, stupid man?” Chika tried her best to provoked the strange man

“How dare you, little girl. You’re facing the great dark sorcerer of the Sengoku period, Harumatsu.”

“Well, I don’t care about anyone who disturb my friend’s happiness. Moreover, you are ugly as heck!”

“Then, you asked for it!!”

So the man was fully provoked by Chika and he stormed off to Chika’s direction. He threw Yuri off from his clutch and angrily swung the wand in his hand. Chika easily avoided the strike, and when Harumatsu tried to strike again, Chika threw a stone to him. She mocked him and started running away from that place. Meanwhile, You-chan, who was being forgotten by Harumatsu, took her sister and tried to wake her up. Well, she did it.

“Y-You-chan… are you okay?”

“It’s supposed to be me who’s asking about your condition, nee-san. What about our parents?”

“They fell unconscious when Harumatsu took me. I think they’re fine in our house. Now, You-chan, while your friend is holding him off, you need to took that Sunscythe and made the cure so you could escape the cruel fate that I bestowed upon you.”

“No, nee-san. There’s no need for it. you’re the one who’s supposed to live in this world, not me. So, in my favor, please take care of our family and also Chika for me. I love you all.”

With that final message, You-chan left and chased after Chika and Harumatsu, leaving her sister behind. She finally catch up with Chika and together, they fought against Harumatsu. At first, Harumatsu was having the upperhand, but after adapting to his fighting style, The duo managed to bring him down. And with a charm Chika had from Mito-nee, she sealed Harumatsu at the temple just outside the forest. Finished with the sealing process, they went back to meet Yuri inside the forest.

Arrived at the previous place, they found Yuri unconscious. She might be really exhausted after being forcefully brought here from Numazu. Or else, her disease finally started to swarmed over her body again after the sealing of Harumatsu. Ignoring any accusation, they took Yuri home and arrived there, they took care of the unconscious family. Next month, after they finally stopped Harumatsu’s ambition, with the Watanabe family finally doing their routine like what they used to do, You-chan went to Chika’s place to say goodbye, now thinking that she finally fulfilled her role. When she reached the inn, her tears started to fall, but she held it on. She needed to, or else, she would destroyed her own conviction.

“Hello, You-chan, long time no see! So, is this goodbye?” Chika surprisingly looked cheerful. Well, deep inside she’s holding her own tears as to make sure You-chan left without worry

“Hehehe. What can we do, Chika, this is what’s supposed to happen, after all… Thank you for all the times we’ve spent together. I really love being with you the most. I will never forget you, Chika!”

“Well, you’d better not. Because if you do, I would come flying to your world and punish you…. hehehe…” Chika couldn’t hold her tears anymore

Chika cried really hard while You-chan, at first, tried to tend her off until she herself cried herself off. Well, it was a given that they’d be sad. But thinking about it once gain, they were not supposed to know each other right from the beginning. It was just a moment’s of luck given to them by fate, and now that they’d already enjoyed it, they needed to part ways. Chika held You-chan’s cheeks as the latter slowly disappearing from her sight. She held them tight and just as she was about to kiss her friend, You-chan vanished into thin air, finally leaving Chika for sure this time. Chika held her own body as she remembered the feeling of You-chan’s warmth she felt earlier. So she cried her hearts out again there, alone.

A few years after You-chan’s departure, now Chika finally graduated from university, she went back to Uchiura (she’s entering a college in Tokyo). She felt so nostalgic with her hometown that it made her cry. She remembered all the time she spent there, especially together with You-chan who’s now no longer beside her. And just as she was thinking about You-chan, a pair of girls came her way. The one with the violet-eyes, she knew it was Yuri, whom she befriended after the incident years ago. But the other one, the one she really missed, the one she really wanted to meet again, was there, happily smiling at her.

“How dare you didn’t said anything to me that you’re going back, stupid You-chan!!!”

"With this, we will become one.”

Chika stared at the window of her class. Her sight wandering somewhere else, somewhere not so far away from there. The Numazu Hospital. Most of her life are being taken out from her after that incident. Well, something good happened that day. No, it’s not that they win the Love Live competition. It’s because that day You-chan barely escaped death. In turn, it also prompted her to not killing herself as a way of punishing her stupidity. She was admitted there for a while now.

After the incident, Chika was blankly stared at the corpse-like You-chan in front of her that she managed to get out from the exploded train. No one hurt in the incident, except You-chan. It was a suicide attempt performed by You-chan. Right after she showed Chika that paper of her apologize, she smiled and pulled out something that looked like a mini-bomb from her bag. She pushed the button, and bang! You-chan lost both of her eyes and her hands got burned out. She might still able to use them, hopefully. Chika ran straight after the explosion and she retrieved her afterwards. No one in Aqours even realized this accident was happening right after their win.

A few hours after the rest of Aqours realized two of their members were missing, they went searching for them (at first they thought both You-chan and Chika were just went out somewhere to find foods as they did it often). Just as they left the Dome, they heard someone in the street talked about an accident in the station near that place. Premonition came to Kanan and she ran straight to the station. Mari tried to talked some sense into her mind, saying that it’s far better to find a ride than running all the way to the station. Kanan refused, saying that it’s her responsibilities to watched over her two little sisters. Mari loosen her grip and Kanan went off as fast as she could. She was fast, indeed. She reached the station under fifteen minutes and what she found there was shocking. Enough to make her lose her standing. Nonetheless, she stood up and approached Chika and You-chan. Chika was frozen, her body seemed like a rock statue, a fragile one that might get crushed if a little force is inflicted to it, and her eyes were blanked out. Kanan, however, still in her distraught, decided to brought You-chan to the nearest hospital. Not long after she went to find hospital while holding You-chan and dragging her other little sister with her, Mari arrived with the rest of Aqours. Kanan immediately stopped anyone from asking questions about anything and just wet straight into the taxi. They went to the hospital.

Arrived at the hospital, Kanan left Chika with the rest while she went to took care of You-chan’s admittance into the hospital. Riko and the others tried to cheered Chika up, but she didn’t respond. However, when Kanan finally went back to the group and called her, she stood up from her seat and went with Kanan. The others were trapped in confusion. What the heck is happening here? How could something like this happened in the first place!? Unfortunately, no one seemed to have the courage to asked about it. Especially when Kanan’s eyes were that scary. It might meant death if any of them inquired her.

“What happened there, Chika? How could something like that happened to You-chan? Why did both of you leave the Dome so suddenly? Did you two fight?” Kanan questioned Chika while trying not to be too pushy. Chika just shook her head. It dawned to Kanan that questioning Chika would bring nothing out. She decided to call You-chan’s parents to informed them about the incident. But as soon as she left Chika, she fell. Chika fell on the floor. Unconscious. What is wrong with today? As she screamed for help, she felt her consciousness also faded. Well, running full speed for fifteen minutes really tired her out.

You-chan’s mother arrived in the morning. She requested her daughter to be moved to Numazu so she could visited her everyday without getting to Tokyo first. The doctor complied and proceed to processed the paperworks. As she went to met the Aqours, she saw Chika, holding her head and and disturbingly whispering something. It was creepy. She reached her and suddenly hugged her. Chika realized that You-chan’s mother was the one who hugged her and she cried her heart out.

“It’s all my fault. If only I could prevent it from happening. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry!!” Chika shouted as she wasted all her tears on the shoulder of her best friend’s mother. However, that very woman didn’t blamed her whatsoever. She just kept on hugging her until she herself stopped crying. After releasing Chika, The woman took Kanan outside. Kanan told her everything she heard from Chika (She managed to convinced the latter to tell her about the incident). The woman’s sight started to look blurry, mainly because of tears forming out, but she held on and told Kanan to take care of Chika. She must make sure to kept Chika in shape. She said it will made her daughter sad if she knew Chika looked like that because of her. Kanan agreed and she went back first.

From that day on, Kanan slept with Chika everyday. She insisted for Chika to went to school as usual and kept her from doing stupid things like suicide, one attempt she found when Chika deliberately stood in the middle of the road. She also told Riko to took care of Chika inside class. Every single day, all Chika did was wailing and wailing. Well, not really. She also went to the hospital every day. She might not coming back to her house if Kanan didn’t dragged her out. For a month’s long, there was no sign of You-chan’s waking up.

One day, when Chika visited the hospital right after school, she heard the doctor talked about something with You-chan’s mother. When she silently eavesdropping, she was shocked.You-chan needed transplant for her eyes. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any stock and it’s not like giving her a pair of random eyes would do. But it needed to be done asap and if it’s not, she would lose her sigh forever. This time, Chika could think straight. She decided. She would gave her best friend what she had. She didn’t need things that she has no use for. You-chan didn’t have that azure-colored eyes anymore. They were destroyed by her. By her ignorance. By her stupid ways of thinking, assuming that You-chan would always be by her side even with her almost-over-the-top stupidity. By her very eyes that kept on watching all sparkling things instead of paying enough attention to her hurting best friend. You-chan would need her eyes more than she was.She didn’t need them anymore. All she needed was You-chan woke up in that room. As long as she was able to make that came true, she couldn’t be happier. With that in mind, she stormed out the room and threatening the doctor to let her donate her eyes or else she would killed herself right away. At first, Watanabe-mama declined, but after seeing those determined eyes ( a twisted ones if you ask me), ones Chika really hated, she let her does as she wished. Chika finally smiled after a month’s long.

“Chika-chan? Chika-chan? Can you hear me?” Chika was awake, but she didn’t have the ability to look anymore. At first, she wonder whose voice that was calling her name. But after realizing it was You-chan’s voice, the voice she really missed for a month’s long, she hugged the person without even looking. Well, she confirmed it when she touched the cheek of the girl calling out her name.

“You-chan… You are never wrong. Please don’t do that kind of thing ever again. I would die the moment I realized you are death. Please!” Chika held You-chan’s hands and prompted the latter to don’t let go of her hands.

“Chika-chan, I would never do that again. I don’t ever wanted to be away from you. I might managed to kill myself for sure if I’m away from you. Thanks for always visiting me everyday.” You-chan smiled at Chika, her best friend. Now, is a best friend to her again, as she realized she couldn’t kept on living without Chika on her side.

“You-chan…”

“What, Chika-chan?”

“Could you please take that mirror in the drawer there for me. I need it.”

“Okay. Here it is.”

“Thank you.”

Without any doubt in her heart, Chika pointed the mirror to You-chan while holding the latter’s left cheek. At first, You-chan didn’t get what was her best friend doing, but after closely looking at her own eyes, she realized what Chika wanted to say. Now, it finally dawned at her. Why Chika didn’t looked at her earlier when she called out her name. She thought it was because Chika was sleeping until she woke her up. Those twin rubies. Those very jewels that always made her happy when she looked at them. They are no longer Chika’s. They are her’s. Just as she was about to speak, Chika halted her.

“You lose both of your eyes in your suicide attempt. I couldn’t forgive myself for all the things I did to you if I cannot do this. At least, please accept my apologies. All I could give to you were my two eyes and my utmost attention for you. This is my payback for always making you worried about me. My payback for always hurting you.”

“But Chika-chan, you are no longer able to see anymore. No, I don’t want that. I–” Chika stopped her midway and answered her.

“Don’t worry, You-chan. All I need is you. I don’t need my eyes if all they ever did was making me looked at anything but you. You need them more than me. As long as you are happy, I will be happy with you. From now on, I will always be by your side.”

“Chika-chan…Okay, I will take care of you from now on. We will be together forever.”

“Thanks, You-chan. I love you. I always love you.”

“I always love you, Chika-chan.”

Chika held You-chan’s cheeks and kissed her on the lips. You-chan reciprocated and kissed her back. They are fallen for each other once again. The kisses that they sometimes do in middle school. The hugging that they always do when either of them was sad. The holding hands when they were in need of other’s presence. This is their payback for all the mistakes they did in the past. Finally, everything will go back to the way it should. Well, apart from the fact that Chika left Aqours for You-chan and now she couldn’t even see the latter anymore, it is the way of their usual lives now.

After a while, You-chan stopped the kissing as she was called by her mother outside of the room. She hugged Chika once again and headed outside. Chika smiled brightly. She was happy. Really really happy. Now, since she finally got her share of happiness, it’s time for her to give You-chan happiness. She took the paper she prepared ahead of times in her pocket and write something there.

“Forgive me I lied to you again. You know, your heart can no longer properly supports you and doctor said your life might end in about a month without a new heart.That’s why, as a present for you, I will give you my heart to make sure you kept on living on for both of us. Don’t be sad. I will continue living inside of you as one. We will become one. This way, no one can separate us anymore. Thanks for all the love you gave to me, You-chan.”

Chika then searched her way to the windows. She found it. She smiled for the last time and took a leap out, finally completing her life in the way she wanted.

“I will do anything for you, You-chan. Even if I have to die for it. Don’t worry, we will always be together from now on” As Chika leapt through the window, she remembered the promise she made with You-chan and glad that she managed to pull it off. A ‘Brakk’ sound soon echoed in the front of the hospital.

“Engagement”

The Kurosawa Family are a well known family for generations, they host a party where they invited all well known families including the family who owns the world class Awashima Hotel, the Ohara Family.

Both families has been good business partners for generations and next in line to took over their families’ business are Kurosawa Dia and Ohara Mari. The Kurosawa Household has two upcoming heirs, the oldest brother, Dia and the youngest sister, Ruby. Because of family traditions, Dia is suited to be the next one to handle the business when their parents are going to retire since he’s the eldest among the Kurosawa siblings and also the next man in their generation to continue the business and traditions, his parents has high expectations towards him which leads him to have much responsibilities. Meanwhile, with the Ohara Family, Mari is the only precious daughter in line up which means she’s automatically the heiress of the family’s business. She’s rather spoiled and a happy go lucky person which makes her to be an outgoing one on family parties and events. Since both families have been good business partners, Dia and Mari are actually on the same age and been going to the same school since they were in kindergarten. Let’s just say they’ve known each other since childhood but those two rarely get along since those two are a total opposite to each other, Dia being the responsible serious guy and Mari being a bubbly outgoing girl. Most of the time Mari loves to annoy Dia back then, they’ve been in the same class since middleschool and around their first year highschool but all of a sudden, Mari decided to go study abroad that left Dia in their highschool.

After 2 years, now they’re in their 3rd year in highschool now. Dia didn’t hear anything about Mari since then but he didn’t expected that he’ll see her again and that is in the party that the Kurosawa Family hosted. While they were announcing the guests, Dia who was standing next to their family members, to welcome the guests, he didn’t expected that he’ll see the girl who loves to annoy him back then.

“Please welcome, Ohara Family’s one and only heiress, Ohara Mari-sama.”

As that was announced, Dia just did a jawdrop of surprise because he saw Mari again who is more prettier than before, more gorgeous with her lovely white elegant dress, while Dia was in his formal tux for the party.

“Ma-Mari-san?!” “Dia!! It’s been awhile!” and Mari ended up hugging Dia in front of their families which made Dia embarrassed. “What are doing, Mari-san? Let go of me!” “You are stubborn as ever, Kurosawa Dia-kun!” She said with a smirk in her face. “And you being clingy as ever, Mari-san!” he replied angrily.

Their conversation ended when Dia’s father has an important announcement to make, while Dia’s dad about to announce it, he called in Mari’s father next to him.“

"As you all know that the Kurosawa and Ohara family has been a good business partners and also being a close family friend for generations, we would like to announce this formally and this is the main reason why this family party is being hosted tonight, Both heads of the Kurosawa and Ohara family has decided to officially engaged our next in line heirs, my son, Dia and the Ohara’s one and only daughter, Mari. Both of them are engaged and will get married in the right age and time in the future! So, I officially welcome, the Ohara family especially Mari to our family. Hope we have an amazing bond as families! Cheers!”

That left Dia shocked with the announcement but Mari seemed to be excited and good with it.

After the party… “Otousama, what is the meaning of this?! Why didn’t you inform me earlier that i’ll be engaged with Mari-san?! This is unacceptable!” Dia angrily said to his father.

“That’s the reason why we didn’t tell you, because we all know you are absolutely against it! This is for the family’s future, Dia. You’re the man who will lead this family to a greater success, and to be able to do that, marrying a family friend is the best way to tighten the bond to our family tradition.”

“I can make this family better without getting engaged father, i can’t believe you!” And Dia just left his father and went back to the empty party room alone, he went to the empty bar and helped himself drinking some alcohol to chill his inner self.

“So much for family traditions…” He murmered to himself and then the door opened, it was Mari.

“There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you.”

“What do you want? I don’t even want to talk to you, did you just even forget the announcement earlier?!”

“Of course not, whyyy?! Don’t you like the announcement that are families are going to be as one?”

“What are you talking about, this is engagement are you even sure that this will work between us? I haven’t seen you for a long time, Mari-san! This is all of a sudden and i won’t approve this at–”

Dia suddenly went silent when he was suddenly kissed by Mari with force and it took long for them to break the kiss.

“You know what Dia-kun, I’ve known you since we were kids and i know you’re too drunk now, you’re weak with alcohol, i know that since i did stalk you before, even tho i wasn’t here for 2 years, i know everyth–”

Before Mari speak up, she break offs her words because Dia kissed her back, he’s body just moved on it’s own since he was already drunk but Mari didn’t resist Dia’s kiss to her. After that, Dia breaks away and puts his forehead to Mari’s forehead and said..

“Mari-san, i love you.. why did you left, i was all alone and longing for you..”

That made Mari speechless and Dia grabs her hand and went to the nearest room where they can be together ALONE.. since the location was personally owned but the Kurosawa family, Dia knows where they can talk in private.

After they entered the room, Dia locked the door, the room was one of the guest rooms.

“Dia-kun, what are you doi—” Before Mari could complete her sentence, Dia pushed her in the bed and pinned her, he was on top of her.

“Mari-san, you look pretty tonight.” That made Mari’s face like a red tomato, they just look at each other, Dia was too bold since he’s already at his limit with alcohol..

“Dia.. i miss you.. i love you..” And the she began to passionately kiss him that Dia responded back with his kiss.. His hands were going to the back zipper of her dress that he unzipped her dress that leaves her lovely lingerie while she was busy unbuton his polo shirt and pull his tie towards her. Her other hands went towards too his pants’ zipper, that left him with his boxer shorts.. while she was pulling his tie that made him pinned her in the bed more that made their moans while they madly kiss each other.

The next morning, they were sleeping soundly next to each other while Mari’s head was on Dia’s chest, she was half awake while she whispered to his ears while he was still asleep..

“I love you, Kurosawa Dia.. I won’t ever leave your side again.”

He did a little movement while at his sleep and did a little sleep talks on his own.

“Mari-san…zzzz…i won’t let you go again..zzz..”

That made a bright smile on Mari’s face.
