the bravery of a girl who has to decide what is for dinner and then cook it and then wash dishes every day forever and ever.
That's called being an adult
no it’s called being the bravest girl on planet earth
Just because it isn’t spooky season doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a free, high quality web series about the Legend of Sleepy Hollow 🎃
Can’t recommend it enough
Kat van tassel with a sword. You agree. Reblog.
Coach, you keep trying to hold all this in, I’m afraid your mustache is gonna pop off. TED LASSO | 2.12 ―"Inverting the Pyramid of Success"
Headless has so many WOMEN!!! all kinds of boss bitches!!! they’re all so different from one another!!! they’re all at various different steps on the spectrum from cinnamon roll (specifically Judy) to badass zombie who wants to kill you!!! they didn’t HAVE to make the conflict between Matilda and Kat the crux of the resolution, they didn’t HAVE to make the Horseman a horse-she, they didn’t HAVE to make Matilda the most powerful character on the show with a pure heart, they didn’t HAVE to have the most successful popular YouTuber (who’s also the most obnoxious person you’ll ever see) be a woman, they didn’t HAVE to give us a cool-ass international spy/criminal genius secretly living in Sleepy Hollow who’s also a lady, they didn’t HAVE to have Ramona be the most dramatic babe you’ve seen on this planet in recent history, they didn’t HAVE to have Verla crawl out of a well/TV/orphanage/doll to creep everyone out and raise the dead!!! and that’s not even all of them, there’s so many cool af female characters, the funky judge, the cutthroat landlady, the sweet assistant with a purpose, all of them are awesome, and none of them feel like a cliché, none of them fall into misogynistic tropes, none of them are written for a male audience to thirst over without substance
we need more writing like this that gives women their half of our attention and love
♥️♥️♥️

Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story - Coming August 29th to Shipwrecked Comedy!
me, in the back of my mind while working: I should start a youtube channel. No, a blog. No, a podcast. I wish i had a sewing machine so I could learn to sew all my own clothes. Ooh I know, I'll go back through my goodreads list and tag books with relevant tropes so I know how to find what I want to read again! I wonder if I could write a a novel. Maybe I should cave and get an Ancestry account to look into my family genealogy. Oh another cool show to add to the list of things I want to watch! I wonder if it would be worthwhile to go back to grad school. The weather is supposed to be good next week, I should go for a nice long walk. I need to figure out what I want to crochet with the cool yarn I bought! I should really reorganize my kitchen cupboards so it's easier to put stuff away. If only I had a bigger apartment I could take another stab at making my own wine...
me, after work: *spends all my free time lying on the couch playing computer solitaire and half-watching youtube videos I've already seen while ignoring the fact that my apartment is a filthy mess*
i speak the truth and nothing but the truth
Elizabeth: If everyone at this ball was drowning, then who would you save?
Darcy: You morons can’t even swim??
Elizabeth: It’s a hypothetical question. Who would you save?
Darcy: My time and effort.
My dad is a kroger manager and sent me this (repost without personal info)
I want to find a way to recreate the fandom experience I felt for Lizzie Bennet Diaries so much. Because there were two episodes a week and we had tiny snippets of each episode in the last, the community just built up this incredible lightning speed conversation about where it could go, and fics were written between episodes guessing at what could come next.
And because we had P&P as the source we were guessing how they would adapt each part of it along the way and whenever someone got it right the entire fandom was so proud of them?
And I’ve never felt a fandom feel so much like a community as when Darcy and Gigi and Lizzie went on the tour of San Francisco and we were all watching as their day unfolded through twitter!
And the way they made tiny mentions of fandom headcanons (like the seahorses or our obsession with the word illuminating or the napping pods!!) just played so nicely, it really felt like a conversation between creators and fans, and I would do anything to be part of something like that again.
Happy Birthday to one of the most ridiculously talented, versatile, and wonderful human beings on the planet!
As an Actual Poe Scholar™ (yes somehow that is my job, I still don’t know how I managed to luck out like this), I have to wax poetry at some point on Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Invite Only Casual Dinner Party/Gala For Friends Potluck, which is the most brilliant webseries ever produced by man or ghost.
- all the digs taken at Louisa May Alcott and the Transcendentalists and Boston are just perfectly in character
- Poe manages to be emo, dramatic as hell, soft and sweet, and yet as petty as can be at the same time which, again, is just SO him
- side note, my favorite thing he ever wrote is an editorial response to a Bostonian woman, about whom he says a lot of mean things, before concluding that “I forgive her, poor dear. Her heart is in the right place! Wish the same could be said of her wig.” and if that isn’t just the SICKEST BURN
- all the references to Clue, which is a very underrated movie
- all the references, period. They are always spot on, always funny. These guys are True Literature Nerds and boy have they done their homework
- the cast is incredible, especially when you watch other things they’ve been in and realize how well they play such varied characters
- the FOMO prologue with Emerson is so representative of their actual relationship and of both men that I sent the video to my thesis advisor who is an Actual Emerson Scholar™ and he was amazed
- seriously, this could count as a crash course on American Literature
- go watch it
- I am serious
- WATCH IT
Also @shipwreckedcomedy, thank you so much for creating this masterpiece

I bit the bullet and started a new blog…
It’s about to be a new year, so here’s to starting afresh.
I’ve (mostly) accepted that I’ll never gain full access back to this blog and so (begrudgingly) started a new Tumblr blog (very cleverly) named “team-ramses”. (Oh how that dash bugs me. I guess I’ll get used to it.)
If you want to continue to see my Amelia Peabody content, please follow me there. The good news is: I will spend some time reblogging all my old stuff in a (hopefully) organized fashion, so that might be fun. Maybe.
I’m also gonna set everything on this blog that I’ve saved to post so I can find them all again. It will be a hot mess in terms of organization….but also probably fun.

See y’all over there.
In case you missed it.
