this was on stranger things’ insta story, wtf? maybe i’m just late or something, and i don’t use insta often, how long do stories last? isn’t it 24 hours? also all these bios of netflix in different countries saying RUN or one final battle, or something is really throwing me for a loop 😭 i so badly want this to be real and not some dumb ah spinoff. like even the duffers smirked when being asked about a separate ending, and they keep saying “oh i don’t know we just pulled that out of our ass—“ you’re telling me that this WHOLE time all these little details weren’t actually building up to anything?? ISTG, and all the 50’s symbols everywhere in the epilogue? this can’t be made up. we’ll have to wait til jan 7th… i will hold faith til then.

Another thing.

Will tells everyone during his coming out scene that Vecna showed him visions of him not being accepted and growing apart from his friends. But a show like Stranger Things (at least in previous seasons) really should SHOW and not TELL that sort of thing. So what if the rest of the season is showing us exactly that? Vecna messing with Will in a subtly believable way? Leading him to believe that he had to come out to everyone he knew all at once? Leading him to believe he didn't keep his friends and he didn't get Mike in the end? Leading him to believe he would continue to live in mundanity forever?

ORRRR, if Vecna is messing with Mike and luring him into that false sense of security, he's showing him a world where he doesn't have to face the feelings that he has for Will, and they can just be "best friends" until they peacefully drift apart!

Isnt it strange how the epilogue depicts almost exactly the kind of scenario will said vecna showed him in his coming out except it was about mike

One thing I can't shake about Stranger Things S5...

WHY would they have Will compare Mike to Tammy?

Mike is one of their MAIN CHARACTERS. We have been with him since the first episode. The whole "ending" centered around him. Like, we are OBVIOUSLY supposed to like him.

But Tammy was NEVER favored by the narrative. She's a terrible singer and an incredibly embarrassing person for Robin to have had a crush on. There was a whole scene in s4 of Robin and Steve just cringing and laughing at her while she sang. Honestly, her treatment verged, at times, on misogynistic (to get a little too woke about it.)

So WHY ON EARTH would they compare Tammy and Mike?! not to MENTION the whole Highschool Crush vs. Lifelong Best Friend/First Love discrepancy, among countless others.

Anyways. We know the two options are between some elaborate trick by the writers, or just awful, terrible writing. I foolishly can't help but believe in conformitygate to some degree because I feel CONFIDENT that the writing in previous seasons was not this bad and deeply unresolved. But I guess only time will tell :/ Unfortunately, it seems like it's running out.
