Birds of Prey + male fragility reviews (insp.)
I’m all for women empowerment but not to the point that it just degrades men by general default.
I’m all for women empowerment that they don’t need to put men down just so they’re at the top.
Because Natasha Romanoff never had to do that. She was one of the first female Avengers and even before she was revealed to be some kind of super spy in the Iron Man movie you already knew she was going to be a badass. Especially with how she dealt with Happy.
And in Captain America, the First Avenger, they showed Steve dive for the grenade. But Peggy was close behind him. If it wasn’t obviously Steve’s movie, she could also be “Captain America” and even without super powers of any kind, she still got her own series.
And basically, this movie in OP is also bad portrayal of women empowerment that shows you have to be a sexualized crazy badass bitch with guns and your YOLO tongue out to be “empowering”

“Dear Catherine, I’ve been sitting here thinking about all the things I wanted to apologize to you for. All the pain we caused each other. Everything I put on you. Everything I needed you to be or needed you to say. I’m sorry for that. I’ll always love you ‘cause we grew up together and you helped make me who I am. I just wanted you to know there will be a piece of you in me always, and I’m grateful for that. Whatever someone you become, and wherever you are in the world, I’m sending you love. You’re my friend to the end. Love, Theodore.”
Her (2013) dir. Spike Jonze
I dreamed that I, that I killed you and Danny. But I didn’t just kill ya. I cut you up in little pieces. Oh my God. I must be losing my mind.
THE SHINING dir. Stanley Kubrick
“I used to smoke a lot. And I had this ritual, where I’d show up for the audition, have a cigarette, and keep the stub until I heard whether or not I got the job. Now its a lot of meditation, music, I’m a bit music guy and I like to create my own playlists. Anything that helps get your concentration in order.” — Sebastian Stan on the rituals that help him get into character
I love this audio with a passion
