Probably not a hot take, but idc, I personally think people that make a million plus OCs are devoid of creativity.

Spending so much time purely on aesthetics instead of characterization is lazy to me. It's understandable if you're writing a novel, yes obvs have characters, but even hacks like Stephen King knew that people won't give a shit about your characters if they have the depth of a puddle. It doesn't matter how pretty the puddle is, I'm getting nothing beyond the surface.

You want a character to stick out? To actually be noticed by others, especially peers? Then actually write them, care about what they love, hate, what habits they have, what embarrassing memories they cringe over. Make them believable. Don't give them scars because "it looks cool", expect to answer a question about EVERYTHING about them.

I'm tired of fandom in general, but seeing it turn into the same kind of "fast fashion" that affects the actual art of fashion is so jarring.

Y'all can do whatever, it does not affect me, this is purely my observation and opinion.
