Aphrodi nodded as he noted as Hawks peeled off and then changed his course to land behind him. “Does it hurt?” Aphrodi asked as he put his hand on Hawks’ shoulder. “I know you did, but you don’t need to push it Sir Hawks.”

"It..." He trailed off, a hand coming up to card through his messy hair as he weighed his words. "...A little. Nothing I can't handle, though," the blond winked, grinning to reassure his intern. His doctor and physical therapist had nagged at him to take it easy, but it had been too long since he last felt the wind in his hair like that.

"And I thought I told you to drop the 'sir' thing, didn't I?" Hawks snorted and used both hands to ruffle Aphrodi's hair. "What a disobedient intern~"

Aphrodi smiled. “Simply the truth sir, but I am glad I seem to be your favorite intern.” Aph said as he righted himself and crossed his arms. “Tokoyami is going to be jealous though, even though he is not crazy about these midday flights.”

The hero let out another laugh. "You know I adore all of my interns, Aph." He did not confirm or deny the 'favorite' part, though.

"Tokoyami's a good kid, I'll make it up to him some other time. Though I'm not sure I'll be much fun..." Hawks sighed, wincing at the strain already being felt in his back and burn scars, and glided down to land on the high roof of a building. "...considering I'm still far from 100%, apparently. Sorry about this, Aphrodi. Even though I'm the one who invited you for a flight and everything."

Aphrodi smiled as he got Hawks’ mood up and nodded as he took to the air, following the other easily, but not going at full speed either. It was just nice to see Hawks back in action again. “I’m glad you’re back sir, the world seems safer with you around.” Aph said as he did a lazy mid-air roll, just showing off and enjoying the flight.

"You flatterer, you." He laughed, watching Aphrodi fly and loop and roll in the air with such ease, amused and more than just a little envious. It was clear the other wasn't taking the race seriously and Hawks gave a soft sigh, wondering when he'd be able to get up to that kind of speed and ease again as well.

"I'm sure you've been doing a great job protecting everyone even without me around. And no need for the 'sir' stuff. Just 'Hawks' is fine."

Aphrodi smirked as he spread his own glorious white wings behind him. “Oh? I don’t know if that would be a fair contest sir, not in your present condition.” Aph teased as he looked at the #2 with merry eyes, curious to see what he’d do.

"You shouldn't tease your elders like that," Hawks grinned, an excited gleam in his eyes as his ( not yet fully grown back ) wings stretched out - and sent him speeding forward with a single, strong flap!
