ohhhh shit. target is recalling their up & up baby wipes (fragrance free & fresh cucumber scented) because they're contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli, multiple people are reporting discoloration & infections. i just got a call about it cuz i had purchased those but i've already gone through them 😅 so no refund for me. but im fine. if you have these they're saying you need to immediately stop using them and bring them back to target for a full refund. this bacteria can cause life threatening infections in children/infants and people with compromises immune systems (ESPECIALLY cystic fibrosis!!) and i know lots of other chronically ill people follow me!!!!
Hold on i should've been more specific.
First: THIS RECALL IS NOT STATE SPECIFIC. IT IS NATIONWIDE.
here are the specific products and dates:
FDA page on this:
Target is voluntarily recalling Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes following customer complaints of produc
actually yes I'm going to look at and talk about this topic with the Christian worldview because everything is about God I'm glad you asked
reblog this and put in the tags at least two (2) songs you are listening to on repeat right now
“Your best shot is freezing the brain until all electrical activity has ceased.”
“That’s called death.”
“I never said it would be easy.”
hi! so you don't have to answer this, i know we have different viewpoints on this, so no pressure if you DON'T want to respond and/or have already responded somewhere.
i know you're christian and personally don't support (support might be the wrong word, i don't know, sorry) lgbtq+ because it goes against your religion. i was wondering if there was any chance you could explain how/why it goes against your religion? and if possible, what you do regarding the topic/your thoughts on lgbt people?
i know this is a pressurized topic and i don't blame you if you choose not to respond. i promise, i'm not trying to start an argument-- you have your views, i have mine, and i highly doubt either of our viewpoints are going to change based on an ask, i'm just trying to understand/get your perspective, and no offense is meant.
thanks in advance if you do respond, and thanks for reading anyway if you don't!
have a nice day
yo, what's up!! I don't mind talking about this at all, or any other difficult or hot topic about Christianity, especially when someone is so nice about it! thanks for your kindness :)
(please know that I am not trying to attack you, or anyone else who is trans or homosexual in this post, I am simply speaking the Bible- these are God's words and I am just His messenger.)
so I'm gonna go through a few verses that talk about this a bit.
Leviticus 18:22 ~ You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
this applies to both m/m and f/f relationships
Mark 10:6-9 ~ But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
this clearly shows that there are two genders, male and female, and that God rightly assigned genders when he created them, and that marriage is designed to be between one man and one woman. both for reproduction, and because we are physclogically designed to work together in this manner, relying on each other and working harmoniously as a single unit for life, which means this verse is also against casual dating and hook-ups, two very dangerous things in todays culture
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Timothy 1:8-11 ESV - Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
as you can see here, in these verses, homosexuality isn't the sole thing that is condemmed. there are many other sins in the list as well. and I think this is something in this day that is either unknown or intentionally ignored by the LGBTQIA+ group. there are only a few verses in the Bible that talk about homosexuality by itself, many other places have it in a list with other sins, like just above. God isn't just saying 'booo, anti gay people! not in my heaven!' God is clearly telling us what kind of lifestyle sins He does not accept, because they go against His plan for us, biologically, and psychologically. and in hundreds of other places in the Bible, it tells us what other sins we should not commit- literally, being a good brother/sister to your family (either earthly or heavenly) or being a good neighbor to anyone is talked about in the Bible more.
so I'm not saying that this isn't important, or that homosexuality isn't a big deal, but I am saying that in the past 30 years especially, as the LGBTQIA+ movement has exploded and become more socially exceptable than in any other point in our 6,000 years of recorded human history, Christians and LGBTQIA+ have blown it out of proportion equally, with some Christians being really prideful that they don't struggle with that sin, or not paying just as much attention to other sins that they do struggle with (forgetting that they should take the log out of their eye before the speck in their neighbors), and LGBTQIA+ people either saying that its just a personal attack on them, or deciding to ignore and consider themselves Christians anyway, even though you cannot follow the queer desires of your flesh and enter the Kingdom of Heaven, just like you cant be a lying cheating slanderer and do so.
1 Corinthians 5:1 - It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife.
this verse is condemning a hetrosexual sexual sin- a guy sleeping with his mother-in-law (that's the terminology that was used at the time for it, he wasn't going so far as to sleep with his literal mother) The text then goes on to condem this sin just as much as a same-sex couple having sexual relations. so what I'm trying to say here, is that yes, homosexuality or changing your gender is a sin, but so is cheating. so is being unfaithful to your husband/wife. so is divorcing them simply because they don't excite you anymore. homosexual sin is no better or worse than heterosexual sin. they are both equally condemned in the Bible. its become more of a hot-button topic now than ever in the last 30ish years, which is a VERY recent development.
and to anyone who falls under the LGBTQIA+ category and has ever been aggressively attacked by a Christian, I am sorry. that is not what Christianity is about. yes, I don't agree with what you choose to do. but no, I do not think being aggressive in our response is the answer at all. we are called to preach the gospel with love and grace and patience, and be firm and unwavering in our beliefs but gentle, because we cannot hold you to the standards we hold ourselves to, unless and until you accept them for yourself. its unreasonable to expect that you should follow these guidlines when you don't believe in them.
so while we disagree, thank you so much Freddie for being kind in your question :) happy to answer any more that you have about Christianity!!
any other Christians who have thoughts, please add on!

music is really cool because an artist will do an interview or something and say “this song is about my brutal divorce from my partner of 25 years” and i’m in my car listening to it like… no. this is about being 14 years old and sad to me.
