okay ive had enough. if you can drive and don't know how the fuck headlights work, please note:
if you can see the lights of another car in front of you, Turn Off Your High Beams. rear lights, head lights, it doesn't matter. no, it doesn't matter if they're not in the same lane as you. no, it doesn't matter if they look far enough away. no, it doesn't even matter if the lights are obscured by trees! if you can see them, they can see you. TURN THEM OFF.
if, for some godforsaken reason, you feel the need to raise your 4WD up another fucking foot, ANGLE YOUR HEADLIGHTS FURTHER DOWN. if you're modding your car do it in a way that doesn't FLASHBANG ME
did you know that mechanics can switch out bulbs??? i work in a parts shop. there are so many bulbs. they are not that expensive. if you are worried about your bright ass fuck ass LED headlights you can ask your mechanic to change to a different bulb. fuck, do it yourself! get these fucking awful blue light pieces of shit off the roads. also you can get your mechanic to realign your headlights!
FOG LIGHTS are DIFFERENT than high beams. high beams should NOT be used as FOG LIGHTS. high beams are for when NOBODY IS IN FRONT OF YOU. fog lights are for FOG. usually you can turn on fog lights with a little sliding ring on your headlight lever. if that isn't there Read Your Car Manual.
while i've got you here, here are some things about high speed traffic:
when merging into high speed traffic, you should be going AS FAST AS or FASTER THAN the traffic you are merging into. this is to make a seamless transition into the traffic so that it doesn't slow down and cause a fucking choke point. no, you are not going to get in trouble for doing a few above the speed limit to merge into traffic. as long as you slow down to the speed limit once you're in, you're good.
when exiting high speed traffic via an exit lane, you don't gotta slow down before getting in the exit lane!! that's what the exit lane is for!!!!!
for the love of GOD don't overtake someone then SLOW DOWN IN FRONT OF THEM. just use cruise control. keep your speed consistent and people will move around you. this is the way to be the least stressed while driving.
one final note:
listen to me. you do not need a giant 4WD SUV or truck to drive around the suburbs. not even if you "might" go offroading or "sometimes" go on dirt roads. my 2008 toyota prius can handle dirt roads. getting the giant car will only make your life harder.
