Hey everyone! I’m not very active on Tumblr (but with how Twitter is going that may change). I just wanted to thank everyone who has posted about my videos here 🥺🥺🥺 I’ve seen a few posts talking about my content and sharing my takes and I really appreciate it. I do respond to all my YouTube comments but I may use Tumblr to try to answer people’s specific questions(?) or if y’all have anything you want to ask me about my videos / songwriting!
This Tumblr was also an account for my main channel (Calxiyn) so there’s a lot of RWBY / Gaming stuff reblogged here but like I said, I don’t really use Tumblr for that anymore anyway ^^ so hopefully it’s not too cluttered!
Good day everyone! If you find yourself Caring TOO MUCH about extremely niche topics related to Barbie and Disney, especially the musicals,
tbh i think the funniest phenomena that’s been happening in the last couple years is “youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will”
this guy started out poking fun at australian politicians and ended up investigating the firebombing of his own home, during which he uncovered connections between the same politician he was making fun of + major organized crime
“So I did what any normal person would do, okay? I bought a hat and some makeup and disguised myself so that I could go undercover and do some digging on what I thought could be an illegal gambling operation that was fronting as a kebab restaurant.”
This accidentally happened to me, though not on the same level as major organized crime lol.
Someone on Twitter made a tweet basically like "You can pinpoint the EXACT movie where Disney movie musicals lost their magic"... and everyone in the replies had different answers 💀 So me, thinking that was hilarious, thought to myself "I'll make a cute little commentary video about where I think the moment was." - 30 interviews, podcasts, books and behind the scenes DVD material later, I uncovered some legitimately shocking treatment of the songwriters behind the scenes. I WAS made an investigative journalist against my will, and it broke my heart 😔😔😔
One of the hardest videos I have ever had to make: after going through 30 interviews, podcasts, books, and behind-the-scenes DVD bonus features - I have pinpointed why Disney's own art form of the animated movie musical is dying. (Sources below the cut or linked here if that doesn't work!)
