Sammy and Ben take care of the dinosaurs in the forest biome while Darius and Brooklynn set up a drone to alert them for when the Kons return; Yaz goes for a run and realizes that she wants to commit to her feelings for Sammy. Her intentions are thwarted by another earthquake--which the kids realize is coming from the unstable core. Stuck between fixing the core and rescuing the local Nothosaurus, the CampFam decides to split up. Danger once again presents itself, Darius has to rescue Brooklynn, Yaz and Sammy have to rescue each other, Ben is there, too, and in the end...Yaz confesses her feelings and Sammy gets the girl!

But before they can live happily ever after, Kenji and the Mantah Corp mercenaries return with their saurian cargo. Unprepared and caught further off-guard by the presence of Bumpy, the kids scramble to locate a flash drive containing Mantah Corp's backup files and rescue their club-tailed friend. Ben manages to break Bumpy free through the power of love and friendship (Kenji helps to distract the mercs), but Darius and the girls lose the flash drive when Hawkes subdues the Spinosaurus.

Holing up in their familiar forest biome, the kids grudgingly accept Kenji back on their team, and try to scatter the dinosaurs--but Big Eatie has no intention of ceding her territory to some interlopers, and a tremendous battle begins. Brooklynn and Ben skirmish to delay the enemy while Yaz and Sammy get the smaller animals to safety, with the latter getting a hit in on Daniel Kon himself. Darius and Kenji get two of the mercenaries killed, but Daniel takes control himself and gravely wounds Big Eatie, scattering our heroes throughout the facility.

The Nublar Six form one final plan, but Darius is caught before they can put it into action...thankfully, the recovered Tyrannosaurs come to his rescue, and Darius and Kenji trick Daniel into leaving the island by faking an imminent core implosion. With all their enemies driven off, the kids and dinosaurs finally have a chance to rest and regroup.

once again thinking about how unbelievably compelling claire and kenji would be as a dynamic as the only two people who knew each other Before. kenji and his absentee business-aunt who steals candy from babies. he sticks gum under her desk. daniel never bothers with baby sitters so he’s always free roaming on Her Island. she has beef with a 9 year old because he keeps poking the petting zoo babies in the eye. she’s desperately trying to ban him from places but he’s a nepo baby and simon won’t let her. he loves bothering her because it makes her eye start twitching because she can’t Actually yell at him. and that’s the only version of claire he knows. just like the obnoxious rich brat is the only version of kenji she knows.

and then it happens. they’re both a little kinder and a lot more people weary. he’d see her on the news and scoff because that’s just not who claire is. she doesn’t care about the dinosaurs. she doesn’t even care about other people. he doesn’t believe any of the reformed business woman act.

but she’d hear about the rescue and cry. no amount of settlement money will fix what happened but goddamn she’ll fight for it. won’t put her name on it or try to contact them but she’ll keep them cared for. because it was still Her Park and the evacuation was on them. but they’re also the same age as her nephews. kenji is a year younger than zach and darius is a year older than gray. she almost sent them both there with the kids. and maybe she should’ve because she’d have never left the island without them.

and then dinosaurs are on the mainland and claire’s being investigated by the fbi. they never find anything concrete enough to nail her but everyone’s suspicious. he doesn’t even know how to feel. the claire he knew didn’t give a damn about any of this. but apparently she’s somehow involved in saving them all from the island? it doesn’t make any sense. and his girlfriend is obsessed with it. she says there was an auction. maybe even another hybrid. it’s just too much and kenji wants to hear about none of it.

she doesn’t think about him much. she wonders if she should maybe check in because she did know daniel for years and he was never a pleasant guy and she knows what that’s like. it must’ve been hard to see the trial go on and on. but she doesn’t. she’s got her mission and then she’s got her daughter. it’d just set them both back to reach out.

and then there’s another global conspiracy. there’s a massive dinosaur market and biosyn is making dinosaurs and there are giant bugs. they’re both witnesses to the case and maybe just maybe they’re in the crowd sharing a glance

marxist answer: no. monogamy is a social construct which feminists and marxists both critique. see: other writing. I’m a multi shipper so I already defy this framework. I don’t think multiple loves contradicts love you have for someone else. and all love is happenstance which is still beautiful.

shipper answer: yes. we do have multiple licensed universes and they’re always positioned as a duo in them. in jw: the game, they enter a romantic relationship without ever experiencing the indominus incident. the canon position is that they’re always endgame, regardless of circumstance. please consult the video

Hi, how's it going?

I came across a post of yours that mentioned Fadoula not even being a proper arabic/lebanese family name and that kinda pissed me off.

I'm working on a fic in which Yasmina is the MC and I'd hate using an incorrect name when referring to her, so I wondered whether or not you could point out a proper lebanese name.

yes, it's not and i do have a theory on it. fadoul or faddoul would be the closest correct version since it's the root. there's also fadla/fadila which is the correct way to feminize the name fadl/fadoul. all of these names are relatively rare BUT they are real with real, searchable people having them. i have never found a search result in english (or arabic) for fadoula.

i hope your fic goes well! as an arab, i don't necessarily find fault in still using it for fanwork because it's the canon material we're given. it's like, well. damage has been done. oh well. i do wish, however, more non-arab people held the creative team accountable for such a weird blunder.

Hybrid dinosaurs legitimately had so much good storytelling potential on telling a story of human greed and cruelty, using dinosaurs as a easier to swallow medium of depicting the behavior problems coydogs and wolfdogs suffer from, or the health problems selective breeding often brings. I mean the Indominus Rex literally has the genes of a solitary predator and a social animal intermixed in its neurology, meaning it could both needs socialization while also being stressed around others and lashing out at random which could make for heart wrenching storytelling how it’s perpetually agitated and distressed because it’s either too alone or too crowded.
