I know i know, rules on an “anything goes” confession blog? Lame, right? No. Unfortunately, it has to happen, cuz some people suck.

The series has pretty great sapphic rep with Yasammy and our fanbase has a large component of queer people. This is not an anti or pro yasammy blog, but i’ve found that when given room, people are quick to get lesbophobic. Thats not OK.

Ship criticism is allowed but must be phrased respectfully. Homophobia, transphobia, or queerphobia of any sort WILL NOT be tolerated! Same with racism. The cast of our series is very diverse as is the fanbase, so that should be respected.

If you wanna get on the Cool Kids Kayak, don’t be a bigot! Pretty easy requirement honestly.

Comparing the idea of shipping a 15yo w/ a 12yo to dating a murderer is crazy.

Like at least in most senses of the murderer x non-murderer ship the person could at least be able to consent to sex with the murderer, unless the murdere’s also a rapist too (which is clearly an issue with the ship).

Raptormoms fans need to stop saying “Raptormoms better” on Brokerlynn posts, and Brokerlynn fans need to stop saying “Brokerlynn better” on Raptormoms posts. Like I see this a lot on tiktok and other platforms, not so much on tumblr but it’s genuinely irritating on both sides of the shippers, and this is coming from someone who loves Raptormoms and despises Brokerlynn. Like can we just stay in our silly shipping bubbles and not create unnecessary shipping wars saying one thing is better than the other? 💔😞 Because they’re both equally toxic and unhealthy like can we not come together for our love for toxic yuri instead 💔💔

Saw one of your responses to an anti-kenrius ask, and I thought it should be pointed out that shipping Kenji and Darius from the start is also really gross.

Kenji was 15 and Darius was 12 when the series started, and we didn’t get a confirmation that Darius turned 13 until s5 and even then, how much younger he was than the others was constantly brought up, especially by Kenji himself.

Yk what thats fair anon. I dont rewatch CC much so i forgot about that. Shipping a 12 and 15 year old is not something id do and would view as strange. However, i implore you - where is the line drawn? Brooke is 13 and has a canon relationship with Kenji who is 15. Ben is 14 and its not indicated how close he is to kenji’s 15 in canon, and he is shipped with Darius all the time.

Then there is brokerlynn. Brooklyn is an adult and soyona is much okder than her, but its also problematic bc soyona is a literal trafficker?? How ethical is it to ship someone with a terrible capitalist?? Or a murderer?? Like i dont know. It just all seems very arbitrary to me.

For the record i also view kenrius as platonically/brotherly but this moral policing stuff gets dangerous rq. I think assuming kenji/darius shippers have some ill intent is just a little strange. Guys, seriously, just block the tag. Or if you dislike kenrius this mucu for x reasons, i really hope you keep the same energy for other ships.

“Murderers as romantic interests are okay but age gaps arent” yeah okay guys.

And anon i know you didnt share your feelings about brokerlyn but this is just a common sentiment ive come across in multiple fandoms.

Maybe its because none of us will (hopefully) ever be in comtact with a murderer while age gaps/grooming seems like this icky, attainable evil that might actually effect you? Dunno. Once again - everyone is valid in disliking what they dislike. The block button is a free and useful option. Thats my thoughts.

I personally think it would have been more interesting for Brooklynn to have a longer, proper villain arc. I'm hoping S4 delves into the damage her actions have done, but I wanted her to stick it out with Soyona longer. Also, while I enjoy Davi, I think her realizing she's in too deep would have been more interesting if her actions harmed or endangered one of the camp fam instead of a stranger. I wanted a rock bottom before she course corrected.

I AGREE!! SO MUCH!!! Add aome substance to the villain and moral grey accusations!! But alas. We got what we got. 🥨

The love triangle drama in JWCT is something I feel like I read differently than a lot of other people because I've always seen chemistry between all 3 of them, and love the idea of Kenji/Darius/Brooklyn OT3. They're constantly playing off each other as a trio from the very start of JWCC

I sorta agree. They definitely seemed like a unit that all played off one another from the beginning, though I personally dont view that romantically. 🥨

if the storyboard artists didnt entretain the ship that much i think lab partners could've been representation of grooming in chaos theory

some of soyona's actions hit a little bit close to home... ...the controlling, faking validation only to have power over you, giving you stuff or presents (gifting brooklynn her prosthetic) so you owe them and what you do or what you ARE become up to them, threatening people in your surroundings, etc.

not to mention the 10?? ish?? or more? age difference feels unconfortable #to_me, brooklynn is 19 or 20 and even though soyona has no canon age, her actress was in her late 30s when dominion premiered so soyona herself could be in her late 30s or early 40s too.

of course (if brooklyn is 20) they are two consenting adults and all which is why i think they took it in #that direction (pretty sure there is a crew art from one of the streams of soyona painting brooklynn naked??) And i mean brook was really snarky back at soyona most of the time too but 😭 i don't know ... i think a different storyline would've also worked within the show

Listen man. If people are only allowed to ship completely nontoxic healthy ships with a 2 minute age gap max then thats pretty boring. Shipping is not real life and sometimes, people just want to have fun and read about something toxic or dramatic. Brooklyn is an adult and while adults can be groomed, there are also plenty of functioning relationships with age gaps in them.

If Brooklyn was a real person then yes i would side eye her relationship with soyona under a romantic light but shes not !! She is a 3d fictional charafter !!!

FYI - disliking brokerlynn is totally your prerogative. You dont have to tolerate anything that makes you uncomfortable. But if thats the case, block the tag and dont try to attach disgust to people who are shipping two consenting adults

we as a fandom need to be more comfortable discussing disability - not just Brooklynn's limb difference, but the fact Yaz's ankle is almost certainly prone to pain/dislocations/subluxations/instability (and all the other joints she ran on when they were injured), Ben's anxiety and paranoia, Ben possibly having shoulder and wrist issues from the pteranodons carrying him away in jwcc (his wood armour could be like a wrist brace), Kenji being very casual about a dislocated shoulder (implying he dislocates them regularly, which could be disabling), and more!! this disabled person is telling you to be comfortable giving your characters physical and mental disabilities, talking about them, learning about them - it'll vastly improve our understanding of the world and make us more tolerant people!

I'm sick of how Darius's character was reduced to liking Brooklynn and dinosaurs in Chaos Theory and virtually nothing else.

I know it's stupid but it's making me actually hate dinostar and hope it DOESN'T happen just cause I hate what they're doing to Darius.

(And before people go "he has other personality traits" or something like that I know I said "virtually" nothing else, key word: virtually.)

I wish certain dinostar stans would realize that DS was not canon nor implied in CC, so everyone will have different views on their relationship that aren't just going to change asap with CT. If you saw how them as romantic in CC good for you, but someone seeing them as having more of a sibling type relationship is not hurting you, so why are some of you getting defensive over it to the point of ACTUAL INSULTS.

I feel like Wu gets too much hate in the fandom. Yes, he's an antagonist, but I wouldn't say he's a villain in the same way as most other JWCC villains. He clearly doesn't actually want the kids harmed, and seems genuinely disturbed and angry that Hawkes is still targeting them when they're in the helicopter.

Saw a previous post about anon mentioning they were blocked by someone on the crew/a writer I can't totally remember and I gotta come forwards and say I was also blocked by a writer on here and it kind of cnfirms my issues with how integrated into the fandom the crew is(to me).

To explain, the crew has become part of the fandom in such a way that some people are almost.. parasocial with them. They cannot do any wrong, if you dare to callout any wrongdoings you are a villain, not to mention how much the crew gets away with things that would have standard people in the fandom witchhunted (certain artists whitewashing characters, the Kenrius art, poly6 involving Sammy/Yaz and the boys, etc.)

This also goes in a reverse, some of the crew react to any form of criticism... very poorly. This isn't some indie youtube project, this is a Netflix original show based on a MASSIVE franchise, it is going to be criticized, and if you as a xreator cannot take that criticism without borderline childish reactions such as blocking or shameful posts, than I just personally do not think you should so heavily involve yourself in the spaces where those criticisms will be shared.

To be clear, this isn't about harrassment, I have seen some people in this fandom that VERY heavily cross a line in which yes, the crew absolutely SHOULD block them, but this is very specifically about valid criticisms and CIVIL ones. Part of fandom and media consumption is being able to criticize even your favourite piece of media, that is not an attack on the media, that is-9 times out of 10, caring enough about the media to have criticisms on it and WANT it to be better.

Wow, i did not know the cree interacted with the fandom that much. Yes we should all strive to be more civil in both ends . 🥨

Y’all don’t get me wrong I like Chaos Theory but I just… can’t really get into it. I’m far more emotionally attached to Camp Cretaceous and I don’t really like the storyline of CT (that includes season four/five of CC too, they sucked). CC just has something magical about it that CT doesn’t. I really like CT’s darker tone and maturity but it doesn’t do like CC does.

Totally fair! Personally i really like chaos theory, esp s1, but i agree s1-3 of CC are special
