ATTENTION ANY AND ALL RICK RIORDAN FANS!!!

So here’s the deal. One book lover to another.

I want to get into Rick Riordan’s books. I’m interested to see these successful adaptations of various mythologies, and knowing Riordan has been making an effort to include adequate representation in his latest books makes me genuinely interested.

But here’s the thing… I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO McFREAKING START!!!

I know most of this could solved by simply reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series…but I don’t really have an interest in it? Same goes for The Kane Chronicles, too, just doesn’t catch my interest. And I don’t want to force myself to read them lest making myself have a disdainful reading experience.  Honestly, I’m more interested in checking out the Trials of Apollo or the Magnus Chase series. But I don’t know if I need to read any of Riordan’s other series before starting any of his other books.

So, my question is: Do I absolutely have to read Percy Jackson and the Olympians before starting ANY of his other series? If not, which one can I go ahead and dive into? Furthermore, is there anything wholly problematic in Riordan’s books that I should be aware of?

If PJO doesn’t appeal to you, you can probably read Magnus Chase without any real issues. You won’t get the “yay Annabeth” feeling when she’s introduced, but it is the most standalone of his series, IMO. Trials of Apollo has a lot of the same characters from PJO, so I’d think you’d need to read those first.
