I watched this with my dad when I was fairly young, and I remember thinking that this was why he got chosen; before he even really knew what was going on, he didn’t assume that aliens were dangerous monsters.

Look closely and you’ll see the simulation is full of big teeth, dangerous looking aliens doing mundane tasks like crossing the street, preparing for a sneeze, hailing a taxi, getting a hot dog from a vendor.

The Men in Black SPECIFICALLY look for people who are perfect at sorting out what an actual problem is in a crowded situation. Zed must have been beaming on the inside. This man really WAS a perfect candidate.

There are few examples of good female Pokémon characters I can think of. Lusamine, Lillie, Professor Juniper, Mars, Jupiter, Plumeria, Acerola, Marnie, Honey, Zinnia, and ORAS Flannery I just love the way she screams). Notice how most of these are post-Gen 4.

While that is true, you can't deny that they still get the short end of the stick. For example, Marnie. Marnie is a great character, but the problem with her is that she has so little to do with the plot. You only battle her twice, and seems to just be doing her own thing, which is fine until you compare her to Hop and Bede, who gets far more development than her.

Another example is Lillie. Personally, I think she has a great character arc in Sun and Moon.....only for it to be dashed away in ultra sun and moon.( She doesn't call her mother out for being a bad parent, which was VERY BIG for her development as a character). She's also been the maiden in distress for the majority of the game, even after she found her z-form.

I should have been more specific when I said female pokemon characters deserve better. There are some REALLY good female pokemon characters, but they fall short in terms of development and plot. Their make counterparts tend to take that spotlight.
