Alastor Hazbin Hotel in YOUR Final Fantasy? It's more likely than you think! | FF14/Hazbin Hotel Content Hybrid Acc | I'm Mana, your classic Alastor fanatic who decided to stick him into an FFXIV AU and here we are! | Roleplay, Solo Writing (in multiple verses), and screenshots galore! | SFW, no shipping | Blog Overview Here!
Weirdly wholesome RP moment this month: I had Alastor sing and dance at a pride show (assuming the theme was just romance and being proud of yourself, naturally) and him singing about never really feeling love made someone else in the audience go ‘you can do that?’
Congrats on making someone else realize before you did, Alastor. Happy Pride. Didn't expect me the writer to get hit with feelings but what do you know lmao.
Holy hells the new Insane music video is genuinely one of the best pieces of animation in the fandom. Watching it made me realize how being so in-tune to Alastor for a while makes me intuitively aware of how he moves because I was watching the animation and just thinking wow this is EXACTLY how he moves, this is a perfect recreation. SERIOUS props to the animator on absolutely killing it.
I've never been as big on Insane as other big fan songs like Radio Play or Daisies once it came out, but the tune is elevated so much by this music video. I especially love the callback with the Daisies guy coming back and the brief meme cut to Lucifer was perfection.
Even though I'm still visually mostly limited to Human Alastor at the moment I am still SO tempted to try and frame recreate something from it...
It's World Radio Day! Here's another historical broadcast fact:
WWL, the first New Orleans radio station, technically had the police station as its first sponsor.
If you were ever wondering how Alastor got away with it!
Here's my other dumb thing I did over the holiday- signed up for a performance where the theme was 'Isle of Misfit Toys' so uh. Furby Costume Fit for Alastor.
He threw them out and they hit people in the face. It was great.
I decided on Christmas to plan an RP party for Alastor's commonly headcanoned New Years Day birthday so lo and behold days of improv planning later I'm doing a Period Accurate New Orleans Aesthetic New Years party with chaotic minigames and spicy jambalaya to kill the guests with for his amusement and a playlist mixing all the show songs with fansongs/electro swing/period jazz.
We're gonna see what kind of authentic chaos I can generate in an MMO tomorrow night, so stay tuned for the recap story LMAO
Everything was about standard levels of chaos for most of it. People were trying the spicy food and dying horribly to it, one person's fae character cried out about them putting iron in the food, and Alastor was pretty much just ignoring people literally sprawled out on the floor from the spice as he talked to the party guests. Not his problem!
He also forced random participants to do a randomly-paired trust exercise off the stage so he could potentially watch people get hurt for his own amusement and because the callback is funny. I had more spontaneous minigames planned I didn't get to, maybe next time.
A bunch of characters who are essentially this game's equivalent of stereotypical European medieval nobles also showed up to the jazz party, which I always find inherently hilarious simply because of the organic aesthetic clash. I play it as he loves annoying these fuckers and forcing them to dance with him to prove himself better and then listening to them create unnecessary drama amongst each other.
But the highlight of the night is when a friend of his, having correctly guessed it's his birthday, proceeds to give him a birthday present!
It's an actual fucking gun.
A Spanish flintlock pistol to be specific, the fancy looking kind.
This character knows he's a serial killer. And she gave him an actual fucking gun.
So what happened next? Well naturally, he teleports in a bullet to load in and tests it out by firing it at the wall, scaring the shit out of all the remaining party guests off doing their own thing.
Somehow only the fae called him out on this one. And while for a small mercy we have no proof he uses pistols over the time period accurate hunting rifles, meaning this isn't a proficiency weapon, I just kind of put my head in my hands.
This is the kind of shit I'm talking about when I say doing this bit makes me realize how the character constantly gets away with shit.
Anyway, I don't think the party staved off the inherent emptiness he feels, but the sky is also blue. In the end a whole group of people I didn't even know showed up and played along with the silly antics and were getting a kick out of showing up to Alastor Hazbin Hotel's birthday party so I got to make new friends. Yay!!!
It's Public Radio Broadcasting Day, which means Alastor wins today as King of Cringe!
To celebrate, here's my favorite NOLA Broadcast Fact I've obtained from studying to write him: WWL, the first station to broadcast in the city, gets its call sign from a mail steamship that was never recovered after it ran aground.

With each piece of new content we get for season two, I'm going to be crunching the text and determining how many new words never-before-said we're getting from The Radio Demon. Because I've been keeping TRACK since I got into writing him.
The Recap Song
It took me an HOUR AND A HALF to crunch this because holy shit SO MANY new words, but I think I got an accurate total: 84 whole new words.

**If you don't count the one official print of Alastor with a contract, which has 'terms and conditions' on it. In general I count words he's written, as a few words were repeats from handwriting in the first episode of the show.
Also not counting 'secure', 'play', or 'nobodies' as I feel given he's said 'insecure', 'display', and 'nobody', its a given.

Not counting ego because of 'egotistical' from the comic. Not counting wonder because of wonderful. 'Feel' was in his bio in the playbill, which was written by him, so it's also not counted as new.
FINAL (SLIGHTLY SUBJECTIVE) TOTAL: 225
Well, that's a lot for him barely speaking in most of the episodes! How many more will we get next time?
Welp, had Alastor bring his jambalaya to a potluck roleplay event.
It took out multiple people with the spice, especially right in front of him for him to enjoy the suffering close and personal. See, being a serial killer is easy!!!!
