The magpie who fishes stars
Visiting my home country and i just saw some birds colloquially called churrete, which also means shart. May i request some animals with unfortunate names?
Well, I know I posted one of these recently, but here goes...
Robust Assfish (Bassozetus robustus), family Ophidiidae, order Ophidiiformes, found in the deep ocean in tropical and temperate parts of the world
photograph by Alan Jamieson
False Toad or Suck Toad (Pseudobufo subasper), family Bufonidae, found in peninsular Malaysia and Indonesia.
Aquatic.
Despite the name, this is a true toad, in the true toad family.
“Suck Toad” is only cited in a few places, and may be misunderstanding of native name for these toads… they may not actually be called that.

Slippery Dick (Halichoeres bivittatus), family Labridae, order Labriformes, found in the tropical western Atlantic
Feel free to grab ahold, and even... to taste.
Like many wrasses, this fish starts life as a female, and becomes male later in life.

American Woodcock (Scolopax minor), family Scolopacidae, order Charadriiformes, found in and near woodlands in the Eastern and central US and southern Canada
Also called the Timberdoodle or Bogsucker, Labrador Twister, Budbat...
photograph by Louis Brodieur
Hellbender (Cryptobranchus alleganiensis), family Cryptobranchidae, found in freshwater streams in the eastern US
The smallest of the “Giant Salamanders” in the family Cryptobranchidae, this aquatic salamander is nonetheless quite large, growing to a length of up to 29 inches.
Also called "Snot Otter"

DO Y'ALL HAVE ANY OTHERS???
I made a video about the northern pike :]c
and out of the darkness - you you you you you
The effort put into Rocky’s voice astounds me. When Grace lets it slip that he’s not going to go home, Rocky is so upset he forgets to clarify “why didn’t you tell me” is a question, which is abundantly familiar for people speaking a second language when emotions run high.
When the translator is working, you can still hear the musical tones of his natural voice in the background (a detail a lot of franchises have missed, I’ve noticed.) In the scene where Grace is pinned to the control panel and the translator doesn’t work anymore, you can clearly hear Rocky saying his name in a higher octave, panicked.
This movie ruined my life I want to own it on DVD immediately
i was watching a video about how regional cheeses are made around the world, and was shown a type of mozzarella called zizzona (the z/zz pronounced like the 'zz' in 'pizza', with a 'tz' sound), which, yes, means "mother's breast".
so rest easy tonight knowing they have titty cheese in italy.
they also make special GIANT 66lb zizzona
so rest easy tonight knowing they have hummina hummina aWOOGAH iyiyiyiyi GAZONGA cheese in italy

Kozarella."
my cat is always so very definitely calm when he sees his cat carrier and is suuuuper chill about going to the vets
"Wow, you're really good at this, you should do this professionally" okay but have you considered that I don't want to because that would suck all the fun out of this thing that I do for fun and entertainment and it's actually a conscious choice to not do this professionally because that would destroy the very reason I do this to begin with
"You should monetize this hobby" You should go outside and leave me alone
I think this is one of the reasons I treasure my library volunteer hours so much. Tuesdays I come in and sort donations. Thursdays I DM for the teens. I don't have the pressure of getting paid for any of this, so I feel like I enjoy it more as a result.
"But you're so good. People would love to pay you for this." No! The moment I get paid is the moment it becomes chore and from chore it becomes my work and that is evil and also the moment I'll stop doing that, because all the fun is away. Gone. Forever.
"But others get pay for it." Good for them. Good job indeed. But not me. I shall DM and help at fun whole day actions for kids for free, thank you very much. Yes I do work, that is fun for me, luckily, but no hobby becoming work. Not for this gremlin.
I made a Mii of you hope that's alright
hell yeah
i do like mozzarella lemonade and honey!
I'm very tired and briefly considered the possibility that British people enjoy a weird delicacy called "mozzarella lemonade"
get a load of this guy who's never had mozzarella lemonade
You have to answer her three riddles. Photo from my collection, 1977.
Cool.
