The first time I played D&D, way back in 2nd edition, it was just me and my neighbor, who was DMing. He let me play two characters so I could have a better go at things than just having one guy with 4 HP. I had a fighter and a wizard, both humans for simplicity’s sake.

I love the “captain’s log” mechanism in Star Trek as a method for time skips and exposition.

I am, however, devastated that we never got an episode where any captain’s voiceover is strained and slow. very precise about the events they’re describing. While the screen itself is showing the most batshit insane events and making it clear that the captain is trying VERY HARD to keep everyone involved out of a court martial.

I got a free ticket to this movie and i have Thoughts (below the cut in case anyone??? Is worried about spoilers??)

They cut the gods. All of them. Odysseus is overtly sceptical of their existence and refers to them as "your gods" to his men. "But wait amme" you say "zendaya was cast as Athena!" Mmhm shes a hallucination of a Priestess he watches get beheaded at troy because War Is Hell

They merged the lotus eaters and calypso?? Like they don't visit the island of the lotus eaters at all but calypso is feeding him lotus for 7 years make it make sense

Because theyres no gods they dont visit Aeolis. They don't get the storm bag. All weather is #natural and its superstition that makes the men think Odysseus is cursed and not... poseidon having cursed him

They still visit the Laestrygonians though? Super briefly because they need to kill off 2 ships of men but like they did make it where normally they dont

They did circe so dirty like 0 nymphs just a lady living in a hutt on hill who they gave a sister that she turned into a bird and keeps in a cage because "we get on better this way"

Agamemnon always looks like the black knight from monty python got given a mohawk and i swear hes on a hoverbord in like 3 scenes

Also they dont have Odysseus kill the baby at troy like he mostly wanders in a War Is Hell daze taking no punishable action

For some reason they decided the horse was a gift to athena??? Not..... poseidon? For again 0 reason

And the most atrocious change of all: they got rid of the tree bed. The super romantic tree that Odysseus builds his and Penelope's bed into. The thing Penelope uses to identify him. The Bed. Is replaced. By a pin of athena that Penelope was wearing and gave to Odysseus right before he went to troy.

@softness-and-shattering That too- he shot an arrow through the rings on some number of axes buried in the ground, and also was the only one capable of stringing the bow. But Penelope, understandably skeptical, annoyed, or both, decides she's gonna test him. She tells him that she will have their bed moved into the hallway for him to sleep in. Anyone not Odysseus wouldn't have known that he built that bed into a living tree so it can't be moved. He gets very mad about it and she accepts that he is actually her husband and not some rando.

Can we talk about the greatest redemption arc in TLOVM for a second?

I am, of course, referring to Mythcarver.

In stream, that sword was very cool and also absolutely fucking useless. Scanlan used it exactly ONCE, and it wasn't even against a dragon! He got the sword to deal with the Conclave and he didn't even use the damn thing against them! In fact, I'm pretty sure that Mythcarver was basically a bit of a joke, the 'sir not appearing in this episode' of the vestiges.

TLOVM has turned shit around for that sword. Not only does it have additional cool powers, but Scanlan actually used it to slay a dragon! And that was a big emotional moment and everything too, considering the dragon Scanlan killed was the one who killed Kamaljiori, who gave Scanlan the sword in the first place! Even if that was it for Mythcarver, it would have had a moment in the sun and been elevated to the same level as the other vestiges, and it would have been great.

BUT THEY DIDN'T STOP THERE! They made Mythcarver ESSENTIAL to stopping the Whispered One! The sword was used to stop him the first time around, it's a big deal! It's IMPORTANT.

(and it got a brief stint as what may be the first electrical guitar in Exandria too, as an added bonus.)

So, three cheers for Mythcarver, the true redemption story of TLOVM, and the recipient of some of the best changes from stream to show.

So I binged the entirety of How To Build a Sex Room last night and this one scene just cracked me up

Taylor makes bagged greens, salad kits, chopped salads, the works. Keep avoiding supermarket greens, but keep an especially close eye out for this brand/supplier.
