I’m not dead. Thanks to all of you who have put up with my extended bouts of writer's block. Updates under the cut.

Seth crossed his arms. "Oh my. A warden. Are demihumans allowed to be wardens? Are w-they allowed on the council at all?" He supposed it would come out eventually. And being a warden looked like it had its perks. ((Oh lord XD "don't be an asshole" that was great.))
Luccio frowned. “There is no precedent, as far as I am aware,” she said, mirroring his gesture. “But many things are changing, lately.”

Luccio’s smile widened as the axe cut through the concrete like a hot knife through butter. Lifting the axe again, she admired the simple yet complexly layered enchantments.
"This is very effective. Remarkably good work for one so relatively untrained." She hummed as she examined them more closely. "There are a few less-than obvious points where you could use improvement, but given the right teacher I’m sure you would have no problem advancing in strides."
Luccio was suddenly, irrationally nervous. Here stood a chance of having new Warden’s swords again. A chance for her hard-earned knowledge to not go to waste. “I could be that teacher,” she said, clearing her throat. “That is, if you are interested.”
He blinked, taken aback favorably. “That simple, that easy? I mean, I was looking to be a warden, but this is interesting too. If you want to see more of my work, I have another project besides my axe I can show you; I also have a jeweler’s store, and I usually put basic enchants on all my wares as I make them. I’ve been enchanting since I was aware of my powers in…where I came from, so my work is unprofessional but of quality. If that’s all I need to be a warden-or an apprentice, since you offered-I will definitely accept. Most of the usage of my magic was self taught.” He paused to think of his next words. “The best I understand, I’m a volatile conduit for my magic. Especially earth magic and enchanting metals or stone. My output to effort ratio is higher than the few other talents I’ve seen, but I don’t really have any measure of finesse. I can summon an earth golem easy, or crash asphalt on a demon’s head no problem; but if I try to do anything with finesse like carve out a stone room it takes a bit of effort.” That was another reason he wanted to make a jewelry store, to train himself to be more precise with his magic.
“Working together, we can refine these skills and make you an even more effective practitioner. Warden training would be a part of it, as well, if you were to be my apprentice. As my student I would have higher expectations for you than most, especially taking into account the fact that you are older and more experienced than a traditional apprentice would be.”
She paused to collect her thoughts for a moment, still struggling to contain an irrationally giddy excitement. She needed to be a bit wary, she realized, knowing virtually nothing about his past. Her gut said to trust him, though, and he could be a very rewarding student.
“I look forward to a demonstration of these skills. It is rare to find a young wizard who can summon a proper earth golem these days.”

Luccio has entered the Battlefield
Jason grabbed the small leather-bound book, ignoring the sound of a bomb screaming as it fell to assault the ground of Berlin, and quickly left the small house, dodging spells and gunfire in equal amounts and finding himself behind a crumbled wall of what looked like a former church.
And beside a warhorse of the White Council, her hair the same steely color of the cloak she wore, the pin denoting her as a higher-up member, if not the leader of the Wardens.
"… Well, then… Fancy meeting-" He ducked as an entropy spell and a mortar round hit at the same time, tearing a chunk out of the wall in between them, "-you here. I thought you Council folks didn’t get involved in mortal affairs…"

Warden Luccio didn’t flinch as bits of crumbling wall flew towards her face. She had no idea who this unassuming little man was, but she wanted to keep both of them alive until she could find out.
Not even taking time to respond to his statements, she yelled “GET DOWN!” and immediately directed three rapid bursts of tightly controlled flame followed by a ball of blue and crackling energy through the holes made by the entropy spell and mortar round.
Hopefully he would duck.

Seven // Lash and Luccio
Lash arrived at Mac’s fifteen minutes before seven. The pub was fairly busy, several tables seating patrons coming in for dinner and a valuable bit of grapevine news.
She chose the rear-most empty table and sat so she could see the door, pulling a stack of papers out and setting them out before her. Listening absently to the talk around her and hearing nothing new, she read through the papers as she waited, brushing up on information she had already gathered from another source.

Anastasia Luccio did not like being late.
She arrived at Mac’s ten minutes after seven, with a scowl that at once seemed out of place on her youthful face and permanently ingrained. The Council business that had brought her to Chicago in the first place had not gone well. It was likely that she would be here for a few more days, negotiating with a group of former fomor servitors. A bizarre, stressful, and discomfiting situation, to be sure.
She saw that the former shadow of a fallen angel was seated at a back table, her nose buried in a massive stack of documents. Making an effort to wipe the scowl from her face, she took a deep breath and approached.
“I apologize for my tardiness, Ms.Hesperus . I sincerely hope that I didn’t make you wait for too long.”
