PCI Halloween 2020 - Shifting Fog

Note: this year's PCI Halloween is set after and in the same year as Battle Ground. Beware of spoilers, all ye who enter here.

In the wake of recent events, the importance of community has become more evident than ever. On the night when the barrier between life and death is at its thinnest, when powers can shift and fortunes turn, you are invited to this year's Paranet Halloween gathering.

The event is held this year on the property of Lash Hesperus, independent supernatural consultant (and former Denarian shadow). The house itself holds refreshments and a large fire, with a spacious stone-flagged main room for the sake of gathering. The grounds include a large, clear lawn and several acres of forest. The lawn is lit, while the forest is left in darkness, the gathering fog swirling around the trees. Both the lawn and forest are available to visitors, for those who wish to gather in groups or be left alone to their thoughts and mourning, respectively.

All are invited, regardless of alignment or alliance. Peace during the occasion will be strictly enforced.

The Oblivion War is a secret war to banish the Old Ones to Oblivion. By erasing mortal awareness of the Old Ones, they will no longer be anchored to the mortal world and will be locked away in Oblivion. It is for that reason the Venatori struggle to keep the War a secret. There are also groups-like the Stygian Sisterhood-who want the Old Ones there as a route to power. So long as you, the mun, understand the consequences of your muse ticking off my muse your muse is allowed to be not nice to mine. Confrontation can be interesting and fun to rp! I welcome it! While you, the mun, should know better than to provoke my muse your muse might not and that’s okay! Mun does not equal muse and vice versa. When your muse provokes mine, disrespects mine, underestimates mine, I am trusting that even if your muse doesn’t know the consequences that you, the other mun, understand there are repercussions for your muse being an asshole.

So I was thinking, uhh, we should go back to my place. I could give you a tour, yknow, but, uhh, test out the furniture along the way. I mean, uhh, bending over the furniture. What I'm saying is I want you on every table and counter I've got... I'm bad at this.

Every table and counter?  A tour like that could take all night… if you want to be really thorough.  

I think the couch would be a good place to start… a broad surface to bend over, skin contrasted against fabric, plenty of space to grip for leverage… what do you think?

Lash groaned, trying to sit up then deciding against it as her head pounded alarmingly.  “What was that?  I can’t… I don’t remember it.”

“You know, for all the time we spend walking on the Wild side, mundane things are pretty common.” He smiled a wry little grin.

“It’s a little… ignominious,” Lash said.  She closed her eyes briefly, trying to focus.  It was disconcertingly difficult.  “So… what all did he break?  Other than my skull, apparently.”

“Last i heard somewhere around four ribs, your left leg, and your right shoulder when it spun you. Other than that, a concussion and more whiplash than I’ve seen since the third century, nothing too bad.”

Well, it could be worse.  It wasn’t great, but it could certainly be worse…

“A shoulder is annoying.  Between that, my ribs, and keeping my neck still from the whiplash, I’m not going to be able to do anything.  You brought me in?”

She blinked incredulously as what he was saying trickled through her aching head.  “I was hit.  By a car?  Of all the inane, mundane… Ugh.

“Yeah, and these days it would become a meme or get me followers…”

“Probably,” Lash agreed.  “You could always film it for posterity.”

“So, other than severed limbs and faked deaths, what’s up with you?”
