Remember Quibi? The streaming platform launched a few months ago that was set up to succeed by being made by all these industry professionals? It was shut down shortly after it released because no one wanted anything that was on it! If you just don’t buy into what corporations want you to do you can just fuckin back them into a corner! It’s as easy as that and it works!
And before any fandom people come after me, you don’t have to buy anything n order to sustain your favorite faceless entity. They’re already doing that on their own they don’t need you.
Corporations are not your fucking friend, they are not your childhood, they do not care about you. The only thing a company cares about is that you’re giving money to them at an endless constant rate. You don’t even have to stop consuming their content altogether, just find alternative ways of watching their content. The internet allows you to do that, you know.
Even if your act of resistance against them is as simple as not buying into a streaming service, they’ve still lost a customer and if enough people do that then they will start to notice eventually even if it takes a lot of people to do it.
Moral of the story. If you are so tired of seeing all these garbage streaming platforms everywhere, then maybe don’t like, give companies a reason to keep making them.
If you have the option to get content a streaming service is providing through other measures then do that and cancel your subscriptions to it while you’re at it because if you can just keep doing that then you don’t need it anymore. Stop sucking up to capitalists this is getting ridiculous.
Use your money to support small independent artists, filmmakers, etc instead. Those are the people who actually need that money.
Also I still don’t know what the fucking YouTube TV is supposed to be. But just the thought of it alone was enough to fuel me with enough unbridled rage to make this comic so. Does anyone actually have a clue what the point of this is or are we all just in mutual confusion at the existence of this thing?
