my only addition is that it should have been pre-serum steve (he could have gone to vormir alone and his serum would have been the sacrifice that he had to make) who wielded mjolnir and who wore the gauntlet because it would have put a beautiful bow on steve’s overall character arc.

I love this more deeply than i have words for, but Steve would never apologise for CW. Because Tony was supporting a fascist list. He'd probs be more like "I forgive you. But don't you dare try it again."

And Steve was pushing his American imperialist agenda that says a white American man (and his team of mostly white, mostly Americans) should have full license to make decisions that involve other sovereign nations and he (and the rest of them ) should not face consequences because it just be like that sometimes—sometimes other people die because of your actions and you shouldn’t be held accountable for an “accident.”

In case you don’t remember, it was several nonwhite, non-American countries who also opposed the Avengers having no oversight but themselves. CW was started by Scarlet Witch being responsible for the deaths of several Wakandan diplomats. And a lot of other shit that caused a lot of other people to die. And while it’s difficult to think about what could have been done differently, pretending that they should just get a slap on the wrist for causing the deaths of a lot of people is pretty fucked up.

What happened in CW was a lot more nuanced than “Steve was completely right and perfect, and Tony was completely wrong.” Steve isn’t exempt from embodying American imperialism and superiority just because he was a poor kid from Brooklyn.

The reach you’re making for the movie version of the Civil War is remarkable. Nonwhite countries asking to know all about the people who want unfettered access to crossing into those countries is not the same as Nazis. More importantly, the Avengers are a group who have chosen to be in the spotlight and fight these battles. They aren’t just your average person who’s being asked to register. This is more akin to military personnel or other high security individuals.

If we were talking comic book Civil War, I’d be super on board with that analysis. Because they wanted everyone with super powers, including mutants who were not in the X-Men and who have previously been persecuted—people who are an allegory for oppression. Your analysis for this movie falls extremely flat and is dismissive toward the problem of like actual Nazis and who they want to have register.

It’s not irrelevant since this whole post is talking about the end of the movie Endgame, which takes place in the MCU. And the apology they would want from Steve to Tony is about the Civil War in the movie, not the comic book.

The movies and comics are two separate entities and function differently. It’s asinine to assert your opinion on something you haven’t even seen.

as you can see, no one really touches patd for thottiness, but mcr is the only viable choice for an apocalypse anthem. fob is the most well-rounded of the three, but given that they have neither depression, thottiness, nor rebelliousness above an 8 they can occasionally fall shallow philosophically speaking.
