After 25 hours and 20,686 strokes I have completed Admiral James Norrington!
For some details on this piece! This is my rendition of his new admiral uniform, I have shown my distaste for the yellow he gets in AWE so, I have decided to look up uniforms and have concluded with this design. I wanted both relation to his Commodore and Admiral uniform together so I drew inspiration from that.
Details! Firstly, the sketch took 6hr and 36m. The floor itself took me 7hr of the rendering process. It was probably my best floor I’ve ever done as well as overall just long detailing. There is also blood smears on the wood it’s just hard to see due to the dark atmosphere I went with. But if you zoom in you can see it.
While James is on his ship there is also another hooked onto which I have decided to be his father’s. (This piece was inspired by a scene in LYIF that doesn’t happen near the end of the story.) There’s a lot of details on the wood of both ships.
Next is his overall the pose and James himself. Firstly, the sword took me so long to get the angle right and I didn’t work on it for a day. But shoutout to my moots that helped me! The pose I wanted to go with, in the battle of Isla de Muerta James stands rather formal when fighting so I wanted to stick with that. While also having the sword be the main focus and pointed at the camera. I also added blood to his sword since he deserves to be a bit bloodied hehe. But also because, again, when this takes place in my story things get serious.
Also, one of my moots wanted to see James with a white powdered wig and his beard. And I couldn’t deny that request. 😏 Thank you @marvolo07 for the idea!
Oh also, shoutout to Tears of the Kingdom for having cannons and got pictures of those for the cannons in this picture. That was a huge help! And I think that’s it! This was very fun to do, even though motivation kept slipping but I’m glad to have this piece officially concluded.
