My introduction to the Bat-universe was oddly enough, an episode of Scooby-Doo. My grandmother had explained to me that Batman was a friend of Superman's and Scooby-Doo​ knew him to. She had watched my uncle view countless episodes of the 1966 series and knew that I would more than enjoy the further adventures of Batman. Adam West's Batman is also responsible, inadvertantly, from DC canceling Detective Comics with the resurgence in popularity, due in large part to the Will Dozier produced series. Say what you want to about the Bright Knight and it's camp. Whatever iteration of Batman you LOVE, he is responsible for. Adam West's role in the Batman universe is as important to Miyamoto's in video games or Bill Gates to computers. Without these men, these things don't exist. He reminded us so many time of the best, or the good in life. Whatever place you were in, wasn't a mudhole, it was an operating table.
