I just saw a fantastic edit on TikTok full of videos from "Project Hail Mary," which is still in theaters, so someone in the comments section asks the creator where they got the footage from. Creator says they got it from the source, commenter is like, "Actually?"

And??? YEAH???????

THEY REACHED OUT TO EDIT MAKERS WITH FOOTAGE.

That's so fucking cool and sure yeah it's also free marketing for them but working with creators instead of gatekeeping or copyright-striking footage is a smart move.
