When you’re a duck and have places to be, but safety is key
I literally saw a goose do a similar thing while I was on the highway going to work
They are learning
They’re German ducks, of course they’re waiting for the green light
Not to be gay but I’m gay
Thinking youre attractive but having a lot of insecurities is like having a crush on yourself but not knowing if you like yourself back.
SOMEONE SAID IT
fUCK
“Ah, fuck.”
i thought “tri-state area” was a phineas and ferb thing
Friendly reminder that your sexual history does not dictate your sexual orientation and that it’s okay to have not dated someone from the gender(s) you are attracted to.
Since once in a blue moon I actually discover a decent rule for adulting, and since I know I have followers a few years younger than me who are just entering the workforce, I want to tell you about a very important phrase.
“I won’t be available.”
Imagine you’re at work and your boss asks you to come in on Saturday. Saturday is usually your day off–coming in Saturdays is not an obligation to keep your job. Maybe you were going to watch a movie with a friend, or maybe you were just going to lie in bed and eat ice cream for eight hours, but either way you really, really don’t want to give up your day off.
If you consider yourself a millennial you’ve probably been raised to believe you need to justify not being constantly at work. And if you’re a gen-Z kid you’re likely getting the same toxic messages that we did. So in a situation like that, you might be inclined to do one of three things:
Tell your boss you’d rather not give up your day off. Cave when they pressure you to come in anyway, since you’re not doing anything important.
Tell your boss you’d rather not give up your day off. Over-apologize and worry that you looked bad/unprofessional.
Lie and say you’ve got a doctor’s appointment or some other activity that feels like an adequate justification for not working.
The fact is, it doesn’t matter to your boss whether you’re having open heart surgery or watching anime in your underwear on Saturday. The only thing that affects them is the fact that you won’t be at work. So telling them why you won’t be at work only gives them reason to try and pressure you to come in anyway.
If you say “I won’t be available,” giving no further information, you’d be surprised how often that’s enough. Be polite and sympathetic in your tone, maybe even say “sorry, but I won’t be available.” But don’t make an excuse. If your boss is a professional individual, they’ll accept that as a ‘no’ and try to find someone else.
But bosses aren’t always professional. Sometimes they’re whiny little tyrants. So, what if they pressure you further? The answer is–politely and sympathetically give them no further information.
“Are you sure you’re not available?” “Sorry, but yes.”
“Why won’t you be available?” “I have a prior commitment.” (Which you do, even if it’s only to yourself.)
“What’s your prior commitment?” “Sorry, but that’s kind of personal.”
“Can you reschedule it?” “I’m afraid not. Maybe someone else can come in?”
If you don’t give them anything to work with, they can’t pressure you into going beyond your obligations as an employee. And when they realize that, they’ll also realize they have to find someone else to come in and move on.

We spoke to Anna Kendrick about making 'Pitch Perfect 3', how the script and Beca’s romantic storyline changed during development, and the final sequel.
You mentioned the script changed. How did Beca’s arc change from the initial draft?
Kendrick: One of the big changes was that the guy who shows up [Theo] originally was written as a romantic interest. I pushed back pretty hard on that because I thought it was a little problematic that a guy was coming into [Beca’s] life and being the more active character. I already was a little… I had to be sold on [Beca’s solo career turn] because Beca, while she has dreams, she’s not especially ambitious. She’s not particularly driven in that she would ask for things she didn’t feel like she deserved — so, I guess, a character would have to open her up to that idea. But I really pushed back on the romantic part because it’s not great that this character comes into her life, tells he she should take this other path and then his motivation is, well, a little blurry…
Yeah – does he think Beca is talented or does he just want to hook up with her?
Kendrick: Yeah… Even when we were filming, there was a ‘can’t you do [a take] where they kiss at the end?’ And I was like – ‘No – we for sure can’t.’ I didn’t even want to… There’s this end moment where he asks ‘Is this going to happen?’ and I’m just saying ‘No’. I didn’t love doing that because I didn’t want it to be about romance at all, but people want what they want. I don’t know. So that changed a lot. Originally there were a couple of versions with a romantic storyline. Originally Beca was so in love with [Theo] and thought he was so cute, she was tongue-tied and falling over herself in front of him. I was just like, ‘No, no, no.’ The idea of Beca being really intimidated by dudes just didn’t work well.
Have I mentioned how much I love Anna Kendrick! The fact that Anna stood up to the producers when they kept pushing for Theo and Beca because she knew that it would not be a healthy or appropriate representation of a relationship is so amazing.
Also P.S. - She refused to kiss Theo, but was adamant about filming a kiss with Brittany even though she knew it wouldn’t make it into the film.
Please everyone, take a minute and spread awareness for Net Neutrality in Canada. These telecom companies are the absolute worst. They give you TV channels for years and then “take it away”(without your contract changing), they hike up the price of cellphone contracts(along with Apple geofixing products that, even with the exchange rate are $100 cheaper in the USA). These things are so necessary in today’s world, but have become so inflated and expensive it isn’t feasible. Can you imagine paying $200 for a cellphone, as well as $70/month for the newest iPhone/Samsung? Canadians are paying some of the highest rates worldwide for cellular, television and Internet contracts by these companies, and now they want to make it even more expensive.
“Refreshing. No I’m actually just sitting here refreshing the internet”
