As a fandom, we have not talked about Thaisha's spine modifications enough and that's horrific. Because that's the coolest thing I've ever seen on a PC.
#HER WHAT (@starry-river-serval)
something aabria mentioned offhand in (i think) ep 15! transcript isn't up yet (and i don't remember when it was said), so im going from memory, but in addition to all the piercings and metal adornments we can see in her character art, there's a series of metal plates running the length of her back
and yeah i adore how much aabria has committed to "this is a druid from a family that communes with metal the way other druids do plants, that wields it strongly and fluidly enough to shape the first weapon to kill a god"
from the iron nail protecting hal's house, to her staff letting her swap plants for metal in any druid spells to do with nature, to the iron in her fingertips, to giving everyone she cares about a piercing she forged herself so she can always find them again, to all the metal on her body changing temperature with her emotions, she is very much a druid of one particular element and she's doing some really fun new stuff with it!
It certainly says something about House Tachonis that Occtis grew up learning that people of faith lacked intelligence considering a single human lifespan ago his family were priests.
top notch interaction I had with the ambulance crew after my accident a couple years back:
paramedic: hi, I'm Allan
me: you told me. and your colleague is Jim, and the man who found me is Peter. guess my short-term memory is okay
Allan: ..are you doing a cognitive function test on yourself
Allan, two minutes later, putting a third blanket around me: okay, how's that feeling now
me: well my feet are still freezing but it's okay, I know you need to focus on getting my core temperature up first
Allan: how many times has this happened to you
noteworthy that they literally had a mask on me hooked up to a tank pumping narcotics into my lungs through all this, and my body temperature was like 34°. I would have been doing well to just have both eyes pointed in the same direction
"This is great. I'm going to get a good grade in post-accident cognition."
The Eyeshine Table
Recently I was looking back at the description/art of Azune's eyes, and particularly the detail that the pupils are yellow like the sun. Since most pupils are dark because they're clear openings into the dark interior of the eyeball, the only logical conclusion I could come to is that Azune's eyeballs must be light on the inside and therefore glow.
Given that Bolaire and Occtis canonically have glowing eyes, and Teor as a lion man presumably has tapetum lucidum, we should have a whole table's worth of characters to scare your socks off in the dark. 😂
*pokes you with my doctor stick as you lie face down on the ground*
*emits a cloud of toxic spores*
Well there’s no need to be dramatic
i physically had to draw this
day one after changing sheets: ok im gonna kick my bad habits i won't eat in bed or leave knives or scissors or lighters in bed I'll have only normal bed things in my bed and I'll change the sheets more often too
day two after changing sheets: oh yeah this half eaten bundt cake is sleeping with me tonight
Idk something about Fjord "I'm disposable and no one would really mourn me" Stone having a symbol directly connected to him carved around the world by a silly little blue tiefling who loves him more than he ever thought anyone could. And Jester "in spite of how much I yearn to travel the world I will always desire to come back to nicodranis" Lavorre not even having to ask Fjord if they can visit every now and then because he was already planning to buy a place in the city she grew up in because he knew how much she'd always miss it.
Something about him being so endlessly silly with her because it makes her unbelievably happy and her helping him build his company as they travel because it's honest work that makes him happy.
Him "I've never had a home before" only to find 2 he could always return to with her. Her never once having to feel trapped or caged with him because she could ask him to go anywhere and he'd bring her there in a heartbeat. Jester staring at the ships coming and going from the dock her entire life only to eventually have a ship named for her that is hers to command. Fjord thinking his life would never amount to anything only to become a hero to so many as he sails the seas he first found comfort on.
i’ll be honest i still fan girl over my own mutuals
there are some people on here who, when they followed me back, I got excited about as if they were a celebrity. and when I think about it, it's kinda sweet how we do that here, and so much more special than celebrity crushes. To be starstruck by someone when they're sharing their personal, more private self. You're famous to me for just being you.

Paladin stress tracker, 4.16
Very exciting week here on the paladin tracker because we have a new paladin! Welcome to Sir Obzaz Claw of the Order of Roses. We're glad to have you here. I'm free on Forgiere, if you'd like to hang out.
As always, this follows the current day in the timeline, with exceptions at my discretion. For what day it is in Aramán, you can check out the timeline of Campaign 4 at Encyclopedia Exandria, or the timeline at the Omen Archive. Numbers are for fun and vibes. I will be foregoing numbers where I feel appropriate, usually when a situation has unchanged or is unknown to me.
Vaelus — I'd say being in the middle of the Eternal Night, being lifted five feet into the air by nightingales that flocked on some poor guy's body is a situation you don't want to be in. Not even getting at having to say out loud that she hopes Occtis could bring her family or Sylandri back. 12 out of 10, so many damn birds.
Teor — First real quiet morning in a week. He's in a cart on his way back to Dol-Makjar. His brother is in a less-than-ideal state, but there's a plan for how to maybe help him. He's having a hard time attuning to these bracers, but he's learned something about his magic. He's got direction figured out, having promised to help Thimble. 2 out of 10, day one of trying to let the light in going well so far.
Azune — We're still wholly unclear on what he's up to right now. One wonders whether he's managed to stay employed. Would that increase or decrease his stress level? Probably kick it into something that can only be ranked using imaginary numbers.
Obzaz — Things are tense with the Candescent Creed presence, but at least he doesn't have to worry about Dr. Talter accompanying them to Venatus out of misguided enthusiasm anymore. Generally, it's been just a regular day at work at the edge of a wound in the world. Also, Mom's doing better. 2 out of 10, still too busy to shave.
Cyd — A freshly petrified statue but one in friendlier hands. I wonder, again, even as they are technically not currently living, whether these paladins have any awareness, no matter how small or esoteric, of what is around them. If they can sense the dead drawing near, is there a conscious force still awake to acknowledge it? Regardless, I hope that some part of Cyd in there feels that his brother has come for him. 8 out of 10, still locked tf in.
Morgaine, Hawkins, Felltower — The Hounds of Timmony are on their way back to Timmon's Rock to consult with the druids. They are still bedeviled by lack of direct evidence tying any of what's happening with the Tachonis and Halovar in Timmony together, but they are hopeful that, should they unpetrify Groveland and these other two paladin knights of Vallow, things will start rolling along. 3 out of 10, watch this space for developments related to the health of King Gus on his trip south.
Groveland — I totally forgot about him on last week's tracker. Not that there was much to say about him because he is still a statue. He is finally back in the possession of his fellow faithful hounds though! That's something! 8 out of 10, on his way home.
the thing about Leverage is that as a sort of monster-of-the-week show where the weekly monster is a particular type of Evil Capitalism Guy (gender neutral) from post-recession era America, if you grew up in this time then you're bound to eventually hit an episode where the Evil Capitalism Guy really strikes a nerve because you or someone you love was affected by that type of Guy, and you get absolutely furious and absolutely mark out for the Leverage crew lighting that motherfucker up. for me that episode was "The Future Job" where the Evil Capitalism Guy is a phony spirit medium and when Parker's first response to learning how she got cold read about her brother's death, something completely private and unspeakably personal, was that they should literally just kill him immediately, she was so correct actually.
I rewatched that one recently and I loved how everyone supported her by tearing apart what the fake psychic had done and proving it was fake, and then when, as you said, she asked if they could kill him, Elliott immediately said that he could make that happen. They all care about her so so much.
Did you hear about how scientists are experimenting with gene splicing? I heard that they're trying to splice a crab and cheetah together. That could go sideways real fast.
BOOOOOOOO
Interesting detail that House Cormoray only started construction on a Dol-Makjar manor less than 30 years ago. If the same is true of the other Sundered Houses it really highlights how new the authority they wield in Dol-Makjar is. These are relatively recently arrived foreign powers that are consistently and insidiously inserting themselves into the power structures of a city they are new to
WAIT, Jasper is the guy in Sloak, the stonemason, the one Morgaine talked to who found the disturbed cairn
Well, you can definitely see why Murray gets so pissed about the way the Sundered Houses operate. She's from a wealthy family too, by the sounds of it. Gemstones ain't cheap after all, even if (by dwarf standards?) the Mag'nessons, or at least Murray and her branch of the family, are hicks. And yet it's part of her culture to go on this Hucklewend, a journey to provide acts of service. An idea that they've got plenty, so might as well spread it around, help their neighbors.
And then you've got the Sundered Houses just hoarding everything they can get their hands on. Particularly power and withholding services from the general populace.
No wonder Murray gets super rubbed the wrong way by them. It's really opposite values.
