Rewatching the winter soldier for the bazillionth time and truly, what I love about it, are the “everyday” heroes who tried to do the right thing:

Sam Wilson

Sharon Carter

The guy running and screaming “close the bay doors!”

The air control techs who let Steve, Maria, and Sam in with a simple, yes, sure, please do come in, sir

The guy who wouldn’t launch the helicarriers

The members of the world security council who stood up to Pierce (not if it was your switch)

All the people who were trying to be “the only air support captain Rogers has”

This movie was about every person having the same energy as Steve Rogers; every person can be a hero if they choose to.

This movie is somehow more relevant in 2019 than it was in 2014.

#he’d had adventures but really all those rebels were too cautious for him#he’d served Anakin Skywalker there was just no coming back#and then there’s this nerdy kid who kinda sorta reminds him of that guy#and then Obi-Wan says “your father wanted you to have this” and pulls out ANAKIN’S KRIFFING LIGHTSABER#and Artoo just EXPLODES because NO WAY THIS IS THAT KID??!#and he cross-references his old memory banks and THERE’S PADME NAMING THE KID “LUKE” THIS IS THE KID#THE WHOLE TIME HE WAS TRYING TO RUN AWAY FROM ANAKIN’S SON#NO WONDER HE COULDN’T ESCAPE#also no wonder he could fool this idiot to take off the restraining bolt#HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN#and he was ride or die forever#and about two days later he DID die#but he got better#so really WOW this guy IS the best#artoo detoo

dean's grief over cas dying is always shown to be separate and more severe than the loss other people feel over it like. yes they all lose him but dean is always treated differently and handled with more care about it and grieves harder. like HE'S the one who wraps cas's body HE'S the one who stays in purgatory for a year searching and refusing to leave without cas HE'S the one who keeps cas's coat HE'S the one shown to struggle living after cas is gone. dean even knows this he makes a point to say that maybe sam can forget what happened to cas but dean cannot. he singles himself out by saying 'ever since i had to BURY him in a ma'lak box.' what he feels for cas is different than what everyone else feels
