Once again one picture is upside down but oh well. Sword progress for Ashe. Not exactly like the ref Jackson so very kindly made me but it’s hard to do very 3d stuff. I made more progress than the pictures show, like adding the white highlights on the blade but I forgot to photograph it. If I hurry maybe I can finish the other side and make a scabbard before Thursday.

“…Well, I’ve laid down with Dont a lot…” Of course, this isn’t quite laying down, but it’s close enough for me to make the joke. Hah. So here’s number four: Gregor and Dont, chilling outside and knitting. Dont is helping by making sure that those balls of yarn don’t escape since its hard to hold knitting needles when you have hooves.

The scarf, by the way, is either for Ashe or Thog. Or maybe they’re supposed to share (which is something I now feel the need to draw) or alternate even/odd days with. Either way, I like to think that Gregor spends spring and summer evenings (after he’s done training) sitting outside with the pigbat, making winter accessories for everyone (like Markus’s socks!). The hardest part is probably deciding what colours they’d like for their gifts, but after that, it’s all just repetition, so he’s probably able to get each article done fairly quickly. I probably should have drawn Dont in people form, but pigbat form is much cuddlier.

After a few weeks of study, I’ve learned a ritual to summon an imp of my very own! It’s kinda one of those weird, misshapen ones, but not too bad for a first attempt. At last I have my own tiny hell minion to immediately throw to their death should a monster ever show up. I’m sure this will be useful someday.

I finished sewing a t-shirt using jaycana ‘s wonderful imp print. Thank you, Jaycana! This was a challenge because I’m stupid and decided to draft my own pattern, but it turned out to be something I can definitely wear out of the house, and that makes me very happy because IMPS!!!

(It’s too bad I’m covering up my wall of fanart, but you can see Sparkle Ashe there if you look.)

This video was shot during the pre-show of the Dr. Horrible live event at San Japan. They had audience members come on stage to apply to be the members of the Evil League of Evil, and I thought to myself, why yes, I am cosplaying a lawful good character who has once pretended to be his own evil twin to infiltrate an organization. What could possibly go wrong!

I didn’t get in. Which is extremely fitting.

Me as Gregor Hartway at San Japan 2015 in San Antonio.

This was both my first cosplay and my first convention, and it was everything I could have hoped for. Many shoutouts to thinkyoucantell-heavenfromhell (playing Misato Katsuragi in the bottom pic) for giving me an excuse to make it as well as helping me through the process. No glaive this go around; perhaps someday I’ll get another excuse to make improvements.
