Breaking Down the Vodka Lawsuit

aka i wish people knew trademark law bc everyone being a hater looks really stupid and i am a tired graphic designer that actually had to study copyright.

Ghost has a trademark for the use of the word Ghost in relation to alcohol, this makes sense since they have released alcohol. There is a company violating that trademark by making “Ghost Vodka” with skull imagery as it’s bottle branding.

Ghost Management (not Tobias, man is probably watching his kids play animal crossing while writing music) has a duty to protect it’s trademark, some have said (and this wasn’t touched on when I learned about copyright bc I’m Australian) is that they MUST protect their trademark so they do no lose it.

They are just following the rules when it comes to trademark and trademark protection.

As people have said, a simple name change will fix it, that is it, change it to fucking ghoul if they don’t have the trademark fuck!

He is not ‘becoming the next Gene Simmons’ or ‘Lars Ulrich’. Tobias isn’t even doing this, it’s the business end of the company. Tobias isn’t in charge of the law department.
