I survived the stent install and it feels awful. Constant feeling like I'm busting to piss to the pint where it hurts and there's nothing to pee out.
Pisser also stings like the worst UTI in the world bc they shoved something up there when it's exit only, and there's this horrible exhausted feeling in my whole abdomen, like your muscles if I've tried to run up 4 flights of stairs and am at the point where I can't physically make my legs go another step. If I uncurl from the fetal position it is worse. That's on top of the blockage pain, which feels like someone has my side in their fist and is crushing my kidney.
Showed me the CT of the stones, lots of little fuckers in the kidney itself, but the problem child is one that's twice as long as it is wide, about my thumb knuckle, that's decided to jam itself as far as it will go down into the ureter. That's what's blocking the thing and causing backup and ballooning and shit.
In two weeks I go back in to get a camera and laser up to cut it into bits, which is why the stent. The stent is keeping the tube open but also stretching it so they can fit the rig up there.
I am so so so so so exhausted. I feel like just breathing is an exertion I can barely manage. But also too tired to actually sleep. Being under anaesthetic was nice.
Husbeast has had this procedure done twice, might be getting his third soon. Heat helps alleviate the pain, so he keeps a heat pad around while waiting for the sweet release of unconsciousness, or takes up near permanent residency in the tub. If you have access to marijuana products and it won't cause legal problems if it shows up in your blood prior to going back under, keeping a large uncaffinated beverage with a THC & CBD powder, plus some electrolytes, also helps with the pain. He's found this combo works better than opiates for him, but obviously every body is different.
Stuck kidney stones are notoriously worse than active labor, I hope this helps manage the pain.
