*I donโt think Iโve listened to a book series wirh a plotier plot twist in all of my life. I would think things were going to happen one way and then boom Lauren pulled the rug right out from under me. This was such an emotional ride and itโs been a while since Iโve had an authors words strike me as hard as Laurenโs did. I lost track of how many times during this epic finale that I was ready to pitch my phone and just stop listening. This book ended in such a heartfelt way.
โขJust call me an Azer because Iโve loved Paedyn from the very beginning of the series. If there was ever a strong willed woman to want to follow in the footsteps of its most definitely Paedyn Gray. Her personal growth as the story developed was top tier.
โขI definitely got why chose vibes when I was listening to this story. Out of the two Azer brothers I definitely gravitated towards Kai moreโฆ heโs just my ideal bookish man. Every layer we peeled back was destined to make us love Kai.
โขThe way the characters had to confront grief and trauma in this finale really does hit hard. This story reminds us that itโs okay to grieve but that we also must hit a point where we pick ourselves up and we keep moving forward.
โขI enjoyed the broken up perspectives of each of our main characters. Each portion was in first person and for me as a reader or listener I feel like I really get to dive in depth and get to know the characters. I wish more books were written in this manner. It remains one of my favorite ways to both tell and read a story.
