I have heard of black people warning their kids that the race of a police officer is cop and you should not expect solidarity from them. The same applies to other types of minorities.
The sexuality of a police officer is cop.
The gender of a police officer is cop.
When you become the enforcer and protector of capital, you are making the deal to be slightly favored by the system over others like you, in exchange for being its servant. Your solidarity is with the system that you serve, even if it hates you.
If you want solidarity with those the system hates, you cannot be the system's servant and defender.
this isnt universal and nobody needs to think like this but personally i dont mind if people tag my posts about women with their male fandom blorbos so long as they do actually fully commit to the transgenderism of it. if she's like a woman to you then i hope you mean it. congratuions on your awesome trans headcanon btw. im so proud.
very minor subtitling pet peeve is when the audio is censored in that mid-word way where you can still intuitively make out what word was said, but the subtitles just say [CENSORED] or [BLEEP]. like okay yeah it sure is censored but i think if the listening audience can tell whether that was a fuck or a shit then the subtitles should probably account for that. what about my good friend f**k why dont you put f**k in your subtitles. the audio says f**k not ****. commit to the accuracy.

Incredibly violent take of mine but I actually donāt think you need to relate to a story in any way to enjoy it. You can enjoy a story even if you canāt point at a character and insert some aspect of your personality or identity into them. In fact I would argue the need for a character like that to be present in every single story you experience is a sign of stunted growth.

living in a world where any person whos funny on the internet can become a microcelebrity is fascinating because on the one hand it means we've got all these streamers and youtubers and indie creators with no PR team or training who quite understandably dont handle that level of attention with grace sometimes, especially if they got launched to fame as a literal teenager. on the other hand i think some fans become TOO aware of that and start going "cmonnn theyre just a little guy you cant hold them to Standards" and im like. well thats still a human person who is making a substanial living as a public figure while being an asshole. theyve been an asshole for years. at some point it feels like this guy is getting paid to be an asshole.
