THIS IS WAY FUNNIER THAN IT HAS ANY RIGHT TO BE
It’s late in L.A., later in El Paso, but Eddie picks up Buck’s call anyway. “Hey, what’s up?”
Buck’s sigh crackles through the phone speaker. “I did something kind of stupid, and I need you to not judge me.”
With Buck, stupid can mean a lot of things. Eddie takes a guess. “Did you…accidentally leave the gas on a stove burner on?”
“Ugh, I wish. Then I could just open the windows. No, I, uh, went out drinking with Ravi last night. After work.”
“That doesn’t sound that stupid. Ravi’s nice.”
“That’s not the stupid part. We, um. I ran into Tommy.”
Eddie’s stomach sort of—clamps down on itself. Like a vise. “Oh. And you…”
“Took him home, yeah.”
“Back to…” My place, Eddie wants to say. Our place.
Buck exhales. “Here, yeah. We. Well. You know.”
Eddie knows. He squeezes his eyes shut tight, rubs at his temple. He can see it in his head. Tommy pinning Buck against the door, the one that Eddie had walked through a thousand times. Down the hall into the bedroom. Buck’s body on the mattress, not Eddie’s mattress, not Eddie’s bed, but where Eddie’s bed used to be. He wondered if anyone but Buck would ever be able to spot the patches on the wall. It’s not my house anymore, he tells himself, and his mouth sours with it.
“Are you going to see him again?” Eddie’s voice comes out rougher than he expected. A demand.
Buck sounds startled. “I—no. I’m not. It’s over.”
“Good. Don’t do it again.” Eddie forces himself to unclench his jaw.
“I won’t see Tommy again,” Buck says.
And that’s just what Eddie’s asked for, but—it’s not enough. He knows this is insane, knows this isn’t how it works, that he has no right to make any claim on how Buck spends his nights, but—
“I mean with anyone,” Eddie blurts out.
“What do you mean—”
“I don’t want you fucking anyone else in our house,” Eddie says.
Buck is silent. Eddie digs the heel of his hand against his cheekbone. He feels a little sick. Stupid, weird, fucked this all up—
“Okay,” Buck says. “Okay, I won’t.”
Eddie lets out a shaky breath. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Buck murmurs. “Listen, I’ve gotta, uh. Good night, Eddie.”
“Night, Buck.” Eddie hangs up. Stares at the ceiling. Our house.
They used the same song as the Kitchen Scene! ❤️

It really is the same music. How about it’s also literally 5 seasons apart. Same episode number but different season.

I thought she could help you figure out how to get Christopher what he needs. Yeah, you and Christopher.
Me: *writes an amazing chapter*
Me: Ah yes. That is amazing. Can't wait to begin the next one. So many possibilities!
Me: *turns off my laptop and goes into a month-long depression*

When Buck finds out about Eddie moving to El Paso.
Buck: Let’s move this party to the couch (theory).
Eddie: We? You’re cool with this?
Buck: I told you I would have your back, Eddie. I always will.
Eddie: Oh my god, that’s great. Y’know telling you I was moving was the biggest worry I actually had about moving. That’s a bit weird, right? But glad you always have my back.
Eddie: Do you need anything from the kitchen before we begin? A glass of water, some coffee?
Buck: Just bring in the sharpest knife you have. If we’re going to carve my heart out of my chest, we might as well make sure the cuts are clean.
Eddie:
Buck: Your sharpest knife is that Japanese carving knife I got you two christmases ago. It has the black and silver handle. Top drawer. Left side.
i know this is old news by now but the part of the will scene that fucks me up the most is that buck says, you said you did this last year. why are you just telling me this now. meaning, why didn't you tell me when you changed your will? and eddie responds, because, evan. you came in here the other day and you said you thought it would have been better if it had been you who had been shot. meaning, this is why i decided to tell you now. buck asks the question why didn't you tell me before and eddie responds to the question why am i telling you at all. he explains why he changed his mind, not why he hid it from buck in the first place. eddie. eddie. why didn't you tell buck that you changed your will. how are you baring your soul to buck and you're still having two different conversations.
Hen: If you don’t get enough sleep, then how do you even function?
Eddie: I run on three fuels; spite, coffee and chocolate.
*Buck, hugging him from behind and kissing his neck*
Eddie, blushing: Ok, maybe there's a fourth fuel.

Can we talk about how Buck got injured at work and Bobby requested an additional ambulance for him (since Chim and Hen would be taking the patient and his kids in theirs), and then we see Eddie keeping Buck company at the hospital like nobody's business?
Eddie 100% got in that ambulance with Buck and rode to the hospital with him from the pumpkin incident scene.
And then, he jumped at the chance to ask the doctor how long until Buck could go back to work. Why? Because that was the only thing -and the most important thing- Buck really wanted to know. And Eddie knew that. So he didn't even wait for Buck to ask that question himself, he did it for him.
It’s time to change my pfp 🥹
Buck: I did not sleep at all last night
Hen: You know what they say, if you can’t sleep somebody is thinking about you
Buck: Wait, really?
Chim: I think I read it somewhere, Hen is right.
Buck: Who would be thinking about me at 3 am though?
Eddie, avoiding eye contact in panicked silence: Yeah, who?
