@catloveswriting
I really thought that Aziraphale and Crowley were going to rewrite the Book of Life.
I really thought they were going to become the Illustrator and Author.
I really thought that's why all the books in the shop were made blank.
I really thought God wasn't going to actually exist in a true form, and instead be a kind of omnipresent power of creation.
I really thought that they were going to have their forced-proximity-making-up-with-each-other as they were required to work together to write the new Book of Life.
I really thought that they were going to choose *their* humanity and not a new one.
I really thought they would still be themselves at the end.
I really thought the moral of the story was that the humanity they had was worth protecting, and that life itself (whether mortal or otherwise) was beautiful and inherently important.
I really thought this story was about a love that transcends.
I understand the path they took. However. I do think it missed the mark on what the show was really trying to say.
The destruction of the entire universe and every soul in it is a truly depressing ending. Just because God replaced it with another universe that looked similar doesn't change anything - this is Job and his children all over again. Job doesn't want new children, and neither do I.
YES @untouchedsoap exactly.
Legendary Pokemon to humans: I am the embodiment of nature that you can neither control not predict. I will wreck your shit and your entire team's shit in no seconds flat if you don't show up prepared. Prove your worth to me and I might join you on your journey and lend you my strength.
Legendary Pokemon to other Pokemon: Omigosh hiiii :3 Sorry 'bout all that lightning and stuff. I was feelin' cranky. But we can be friends now!
Remember.
TumblrClan is no place for a fox-hearted Twittypet like Elon Musk.
rocky's crew dying from radiation exposure, something humans go to great lengths to prevent and are very scared of and ryland's crew dying in their "sleep" with nobody watching, something eridians go to great lengths to prevent and are very scared of. cool book that is easy to read through your tears.
You know as an American born in the late 90s I’ve watched my country blow up foreigners on tv supposedly in the interest of national security since I was a toddler but quite frankly we live on a natural fortress of a continent with friendly nations to our north and south and have been attacked on our own soil literally two times in the past hundred years and we have military bases on every inhabited continent on earth. It’s never made sense to do these things for “national security”. It never will make sense unless you value the shareholders of weapons companies over the lives of children. And apparently a concerning amount of people do.
shhhh theyre sleeby 🤏🤏
Watched Project Hail Mary tonight and holy shit I cried so fucking hard at multiple points in the movie.
Afterwards I got to walk to my car while listening to a group of teenage boys talk about it. One was like "yeah, it was creative but how could I get emotionally attached to a rock?" And another responded "dude, im so emotionally attached to that rock, fuck you"
"You never give us what we actually like"
Caine shows her Gammigoo, something/someone she liked from his adventures.
"You have a fragile ego"
Caine shows them tons of details he created for them and a bunch of mirrors, with the message that they always think only about themselves and don't consider the state of others, that they are constantly unsatisfied with everything he does for them.
"You never let us feel like we're at home"
Caine showed her what HOME was like.
"You discourage us from doing things our own way"
Caine shows her what happened when she did everything her way.
She changed masks and threw herself under a truck.
"You lie to us constantly"
Cain shows him how he himself constantly lies to everyone about his own feelings and how he hides behind the mask of a “cartoon character”.
"You never listen"
And Caine shows them that he really LISTENS.
He shows them that they're in the wrong here.
So why do they torment HIM and never listen to HIM, when he does more than everything for them to make them happy?
Why can't they just appreciate his hard work?
He's not just torturing them.
By showing them all this, he tries to prove to himself and to them that their words sound illogical and go against reality.
That he LISTENS.
That he KNOWS.
That they do this to THEMSELVES.
Tell me what do you think about this in the comments!👍🏻✨
Just finished a cross stitch of this!
Rambling about how I personally interpret their characters (+ some older sbms doodles, so its not just a glorified textwall—)
one of my favorite things to do in limited perspective is write sentences about the things someone doesn't do. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't reach out. i LOVE sentences like that. if it's describing the narrator, it's a reflection of their desires, something they're holding themselves back from. there's a tension between urge and action. it makes you ask why they wanted or felt compelled to do that, and also why they ultimately didn't. and if it's describing someone else, it tells you about the narrator's expectations. how they perceive that other person or their relationship. what they thought the other person was going to do, or thought the other person should have done, but failed to. negative action sentences are everything.
They're so silly
Loving Pokemon can last a lifetime.
