It's like a deeply embedded fundamental characteristic. He's comfortable, he finds cleaning pointless/frivolous and he's not going to do something pointless for your sake....even if you baby him and 'teach' him and try to lead by example

Theres nothing I hate more than a dirty house like when you have to dust off the couch cos it's covered in crumbs and they give you a plate and it's got like food crusted on it...you can't even take matters into your own hands and start cleaning cos it's rude 😭😭 there are some friends who I'll never get properly close to or visit because their homes are filthy and ik it's an unsolvable problem
