Obey Me! Fanfic ✦ 12/03/2021 (Reposted from my Write.as acc) Revised: 05/02/2026 | Word count: 991
Two students from Devildom, a demon and a human, goes on little date in the rain.
The weather in Devildom is not the same as in the human world. Everything’s a bit unpredictable. The rain wouldn’t stop for a long time and it would be nice to read a book or do homework. But the thing is, I’m too lazy to do homework.
In hopes that there aren’t a lot of people in the library and my favorite spots aren’t occupied, I asked Satan out for a friendly book reading date. I figured that he has a vast knowledge when it comes to books and even though there are books from the human world, I’ve always been curious if I could learn a thing or two in Devildom books in their language.
“There aren’t that many books in our language since most demons in Devildom were once humans. I wouldn’t recommend TSL either. That’ll be Leviathan’s job.” Satan put a small tower of books on the table and sat across from me. I skimmed through the titles and most were unfamiliar but I could still understand the titles “Here are some that I personally would recommend. Kingdom of the Wicked, Six of Crows, Cruel Prince, Powerless, Darkest Minds, God of Wrath–”
“Are these books mostly about you in fantasy worlds?” I chortled with my eyes raised and a small smile formed on my face, Satan blushed immediately and I couldn’t hold my laughter any longer “Well, not all of them!” Loud hushes were thrown at him and he opened a book to hide his face “Not all of them. I figured you’d like fantasies since you like to talk about myths and fictional worlds and all. And slightly about the worlds you talk about with Mammon.” I snickered at his whisper and heard a loud bang echoing through the entire peaceful library. We all looked to see who was all boasting and stomping in the room and speaking of the devil, it’s my boyfriend, The Great Mammon.
When he caught us in a position where our faces were almost too close to each other due to whispering, he quickly approached us and pulled both our faces to the back of the seats, Satan almost falling off. “Oi, oi so here’s where ya nookin’ around! Been lookin’ for ya for ages and here I’m gonna see ya almost on Satan’s face! Why are ya even with ‘im?” He says as he slams both of his hands on the table, just enough to make me jump on my seat. “It’s raining and I’ve got no agenda today so I asked Satan for a cozy friendly date.”
“Whatdy’a mean ya don’t have an agenda? Ya said we were gonna have a date today at the carnival!” Mammon said as his eyebrows were almost kissing. Satan went back to his seat and glared at Mammon trying to pull me from my seat. “If you bring Val to the carnival in this weather, you might as well give her the flu. And for your information, we were whispering because this place requires a quiet atmosphere.” Satan emphasized the last part and Mammon didn’t give a damn “Val only wanted to read a book which is perfect for this weather. It’s not like I was trying to flirt with her or anything.” Satan followed. Mammon’s mouth twitched a bit and was like a dog growling at another.
“Piss off, Satan.” Mammon bit back and both demons glared at each other for a while. And before something irreversible could happen, I stood up and held Mammon’s forearm. I looked at Satan with an apologetic smile and pulled my boyfriend out of the library. We stopped at the roofed hallway at the garden and I faced him, he put his hands on his waist and his head tilted to the right with plastered on his face. “You really don’t have any spatial awareness, do you?” I asked, Mammon only looking at me as if he’s teasing me “Can you see how bad the rain is today? The carnival might even be closed!”
“I just want ya to be with me today, Val. Is it too much to ask?”
“You could’ve done that without making a scene, Mammon.” I replied with my arms folded together below my chest. He groaned out of frustration and held my shoulders which caught me by surprise “Fine, my fault for doing all that. It just ticked me off when I see both of yous each other’s faces.”
“There was a book between us and we were only whispering!” I retorted.
“Aah whatever! As long as I don’t find ya like that again or I woulda go bashin’ ‘round the library!” I stifled a laugh, he’s such a chaotic demon “Look, Val. I know I’ve been out a lotta times and ya been busy findin’ the nook and cranny details in a textbook almost every day, but just this once, my love. Let me kidnap ya for a date in the rain. We can pro’ly ask some dude from a shop or somethin’ for meals and towels.”
“We’ll pay for the meals, right?”
“Whatd’ya take me for? Of course, I’ll pay!” Mammon’s phone rang a light notification sound and he reached it from his pocket. After seeing what’s on the screen, he holds my hand and tries to pull me, a question escapes my lips “Where are we going?” Mammon looks back with a smile across his face as I struggle to walk in order to catch up with his steps “We’re gettin’ outta here whether the downpour’s gonna stop or not. Don’tcha worry, I won’t give ya any flu like Satan said. The cash finally got in after bettin’ on Magic: The Gate. Lucifer can take a break from me for the meantime.” I let a giggle out and nodded. I stopped him for a moment and kissed him on the cheek which caused his eyes to widen and redness flowed in his cheeks to the tip of his ears.
White Lies
A3! Fanfic ✦ 12/02/2021 (Reposted from my old X account) Revised: 05/01/2026 | Word count: 988
Enter the marriage life between two members of a theater company when one keeps telling white lies and the other starts to doubt.
[ Hisoka’s ]
My head might explode out of frustration and confusion. The way my wife tells me something so naturally even if I thought it wasn’t true. I’m not usually the type to believe something so simple except for baiting me for marshmallows. Since our marriage, Ayane would tell me random fake trivias or little mundane things. It was amusing at first, then she evolved the way she delivers it and I’d get constantly fooled. She’s not the type of girl who’d explain and would wait until I found out it was a lie. The other members were surprised because they too thought that I’m quick-witted even though sleep is my best partner-in-crime other than Penpen.
There was a time when I asked where she hid the strawberry mallows and she said it was in the refrigerator. The mallows weren’t there when I checked then she said the cat ate it. My heart broke hearing that, but when I cuddled next to her, she smelled like the mallows I was looking for. She then admitted she ate it because it became her new favorite snack.
Another time where she would randomly ask me if Penpen’s favorite hobby is swimming and said Penpen just discovered that he likes to swim. It was fine until a week later, I was looking for Penpen and found him in the roof drain at the garden. Ayane quickly said “Oh! The cat scratched and dropped him in the mud earlier so I put him near the roof drain to wash him off with the hose.” I was confused because she asked about Penpen’s hobby a week ago and he was here the whole time. When I pulled Penpen, I heard something ripped from below. Bending down, I saw the string of cloth connected to the drain. Ayane scratched her side cheek and bit her lip, looking worried “I’m sorry, Hisoka! I’ve been asking and looking for stores selling Penpen plushies and I’m still trying. He’s been worn out too for some time and was thinking of replacing him before this happened. I hope you can forgive me.” She started fidgeting her nails and I hugged her. I don’t blame her and I can’t, but at least I can get another fluffy plushie.
“She may be up to something again, Hisoka.” My eyes followed Tasuku while hugging my new Penpen. I told him what was happening at the apartment and Homare decided to chime in with the news. “My word! That would be troublesome, is it not? It is a good thing that our beloved Ayane’s trying her best to make up for her mistakes.”
“My Ayane.” I emphasized. Azuma giggled beside me “Her habit is quite endearing, Hisoka. Both of you are married yet she seems to be keeping secrets so you won’t get hurt or offended.” I raised my head up to answer but his pointing finger touched my lips “Why don’t you test her loyalty? A lie for a lie.” Tasuku and Homare retorted but I stared into his eyes, waiting for him to continue. “I know Hisoka doesn’t want infidelity and I won’t let him either. It’ll be a quick little game for the both of you. Corner each other.”
A month later, I was laying down and playing with our cat, and Ayane’s going through her paperwork and projects. “Aya” I called, she hummed in response “The members dropped the truth bomb and I was being a heavy burden because I kept sleeping at rehearsals.” I heard a loud ballpen tap on the desk and a sigh “Honey, you always sleep but you always make up for it.” I held the underarms of the cat and lifted him to stand, then I looked at her “Would you still love me even if I became the lazy guy of Mankai?”
“No.” I paused at her answer. I sat up and looked at her. She looked at me while holding her pen under her chin and her brow raised. “Do you love me?” I asked again. She paused for a while and removed her glasses, then returned to look at me “No.” I was stunned to hear her answer. She stood up and approached the couch, sitting down beside me, and reaching for my hand. Tears slowly formed in my eyes as minutes passed. She then reached out to my cheek and kissed me on the lips followed by a smile “I knew you were doing a loyalty test on me. Of course, I love you! Do you think I made a lot of effort for you to be mine and married you for nothing?” Now, I’m in the waterworks. I hugged her tightly and lightly kissed her neck, she laughed and her arms surrounded me “I hate how you lie, Aya. I could have a serious heart attack because of how much you shattered it.” Aya cooed and laughed as she rubbed my back in a comforting way. “In all honesty, I really would say I wouldn’t accept it if you became a lazy man because that’s not like you and you’re also aware of how much you want to make up for missed rehearsals.” I nodded in response. “And I won’t lie to you again. I wouldn’t want my man to have additional trust issues because of his wife. I’m sorry.”
“You should be.” We laughed and our lips met once again “Although, you are quite fun to tease. It’s not a common chance for you to get fooled.”
“My guard’s down when I’m with you. I love you that much.”
“Even if I’m annoying?” I kissed her forehead and put my arm around her “Can’t help it. We already vowed to be together until we die anyway.”
“So who was it?” Aya asked and I shifted my head to look at her “Who’s what?” She cups my face “Who made you do this loyalty test?”
“Azuma.”
“I knew it.”

The machine hums near my fingers, the needle continuously and quickly punching miniscule holes through the cloth, the music playing from my cute headphones with cat ears. Everything is just what I want for the moment. Peace and enjoyment. However, there will always be a feeling inside of me that feels hollow. It always has been, isn’t it?
“Why do you dress like a girl? Are you even a girl?”
“Yuki’s a freak! Don’t get involved with him!”
You will never make me leave the place that made me feel whole, where I’m accepted, even if they force me out.
Break My Heart Again

Two theater actors try to keep their relationship a secret from the other members. One night, their relationship becomes a bit rocky when one didn’t come home for a two months and without communication, bringing back the trauma of the other after his lover went missing with their director.
Itaru and Chikage kept their intimate relationship without the other members knowing. They privately talked about what happened after Chikage and Izumi went missing for days, how Itaru was actually going to call the police. Now boyfriend’s been missing-in-action for two months and Itaru grew extremely worried again, causing him to reduce his focus on gaming and pissing himself off even more.
Hard keyboard smashes on different keys can be heard throughout the room at three in the morning as Itaru was trying to finish off the final boss in a newly released game. From time to time, his hand switches from the handle of his cup of energy drink to his keyboard and into a bag of chips. His eyes linger on his monitor to his phone, checking for new notifications but it’s always left with random game updates and chat bubbles from his workmates and Mankai members. Even though he doesn’t want to take a break, his hand goes to his phone and dials Chikage’s number. Itaru usually gives off as a laid-back guy, but once he becomes a loverman his habits and routine change.
“That shithead cabbage man… making me lose my mind while I’m playing my favorite game. Not answering my calls and texts.” Itaru mutters under his breath while performing combos with one hand and navigating the other on the mousepad. A few minutes pass, celebratory music plays as his character defeats the final boss. The man slumps back on his gaming chair followed by a sharp inhale and exhale as he looks at his mini collection of Knights of the Round IV keychains.
He reaches for his phone once again and texts him. No read symbols or even a single sticker as a reply. Staring at it won’t even magically prompt the other to send anything. Itaru doesn’t even see him at work either because he filed for a 2-month leave in advance without him knowing. “Where the hell are you, Utsuki? What are you even doing?” he asks, still hoping for anything to pop up. He was already too pissed off to even bother calling him with respect.
This is the longest that Chikage has gone out for a “business trip” and he goes out of sight usually around two weeks to a month. It’s been a while since both of them slept beside each other and it was a day before Chikage went out. They didn’t fight or anything but this would be random if it’s a way to ask for space. He doesn’t usually overthink but he will be soon if this will be taken any longer.
Up until now, Itaru still doesn’t know what the green-haired man does as an alternative to the work they have. There were times where he bluffs and causes a slight reaction but he couldn’t get the word out of the other. Not that he minds it that much, but if they plan to go for the long run might as well let him know even with the slightest detail, right? Anything that he did while they were in Zafra didn’t pose a threat yet what Chikage said to him may be a bit shady to not notice. After putting down his phone on his desk, the screen lit up brightly similar to the monitor then turned dark again. Itaru stared at it before reaching for the phone and opening the singular chat head at the side of his screen.
CABBAGE-MAN SENPAI: I’m alright, Chigasaki.
Three words as a reply of multiple chat bubbles. How nonchalant can this man be? Itaru immediately pressed the call button and waited for a voice on the other side. His nail tapping on his desk and biting his lip out of frustration. The ringing stopped and silence came through first. He looked at the screen, saw his name, and put his phone back in his ear. “Senpai.” he initiated “Where the hell are you and what were you doing?” A sigh was exhausted from the other side, Itaru doesn’t know if it was out of frustration from the multiple calls and texts or he was tired. “Anything that’s safe. That’s for sure, Chigasaki.” He wants to give his lover the benefit of the doubt yet he couldn’t help but be curious. “How safe? Not shady as you did in Zafra?”
“That wasn’t shady.”
“You were hiding something but still managed to salvage the performance. Do you want me to believe in sorcery?” Itaru sarcastically replied. A long silence between them unraveled. “You’re pissed.” The other bluntly replied. “What did you think, you cabbage head? You haven’t read my messages, have you?”
“I’m reading them now. You sent a lot, it’s surprising to read it from you.” Itaru’s eyes rolled and clicked his tongue. Both of them knew only the director, Sakuya, and Citron would send messages like that to them “How busy were you that you didn’t know I was calling and messaging you constantly for weeks?” he asked. Chikage hummed and soft clicks can be heard as he was scrolling. “Very. Someone in my department held my phone while I was working. I’m taking my only break.” Itaru heard shuffling and a door opening on the other line followed by a loud wave of static, indicating Chikage’s outside. “Where are you?”
“Rooftop. I’m the only one who has access here so no one’s gonna hear us.” He replies as his tone goes soft “I’m sorry.” It felt like a string was being pulled from Itaru’s heart as he heard the two words. His hands soften from gripping and his breath slowing down from anger. “I knew that you’d get upset that I filed a leave and go M.I.A. without your knowledge. I thought that I’d finish my other work faster than expected so I could go back to you but it took an extended time.” Chikage followed “If you’re curious to what I’m really doing, my lips are sealed and you’ll know too much. This is my way of protecting you from this field. Don’t worry too much about me but know that I’ll get back the way you saw me before I left.” Itaru wanted to tell him to come home. He felt like a heavy thing was sitting on his chest and something in his work didn’t feel right.
“You sure it’s safe? You won’t come back as a humanized robot, are you? I won’t have to kill you like in the exterminator movie?” Chikage chuckled at his lover’s nerdy questions “I won’t go that far. My break time’s almost done. I’ll probably go back next week or the first week next month.” Itaru hummed in response while moving side to side on his gaming chair “I miss you. Don’t do any more stupid shit than you already did, okay?”
“Alright, I’ll see you later.” Chikage hangs up right after saying his farewell. Itaru smiled and shook his head in relief, knowing he knew his senpai smiled even the slightest and his relationship wasn’t on the verge of collapse. He placed his folded arms on his desk, dove his head in his yellow and white jacket sleeves, and with a soft grumble “Such an unromantic senpai.”

Two childhood friends, who seemed like a couple on the outside, celebrates each others' birthdays with a tradition only the two of them know.
[ Haru’s ]
February 1st. It’s the day I fell into the hands of the world and every year, the same day, rain pours. Now I know this might sound cliche but me and my best friend, Itaru, have a little tradition since we were young. He’d give me short notes and sometimes with flowers he plucked somewhere - mostly camellias and roses - on my birthday. For his, I’d spend time with him like he’ll ask me to ride bikes, play games, pranks, or fun bets. Our friends would be confused whether we became a couple or not but it’s really just us being really comfortable with each other, no judgement at all.
“Close your eyes, Haru.” He says while we sit inside a cafe as the rain pours outside. I jokingly looked at him like I was doubting then proceeded to droop my eyelids. A tingling sensation ran down on my head then like a comb slowly being slid through my hair. I felt his hand under mine and placed a small piece of paper in it, “There. You can open your eyes now.” I followed, grinning and brimming with excitement, and before I opened the folded paper in my hands he held it and raised a small mirror to see what’s on my hair. My eyes were surprised to see a different flower than what I’ve always received, “Wow, this is a new one and it’s a pretty clip too. What’s this called?” I said with an amused tone. The flower had lots of thin petals compiled at the same time spread like a small bouquet and its color screamed bright red that made me think of tango dancers. “Red Chrysanthemum.” he answered.
“And you still won’t tell me what it means?” He refuses while smiling as I asked. He raised his other hand and followed it with my gaze, it went to my ear and tucked the baby hair sticking out. I flushed at his gesture, blinking endlessly to sink in what he did, and went back to being upset with him. “Ugh. We have been doing this for years, Itaru. I don’t understand why you still refuse to tell me what the flowers mean.”
“You don’t have to know the meaning, Haru. I’m happy that you’re appreciating them as they are.”
“But what if I want to know?”
“You didn’t even bother to search about it?”
“But I want to hear it from you!” I huffed and he laughed. He tried holding my hand but I pulled away, yet he quickly pulled my wrist and hugged me. I heard a chuckle near my ear, his breath tickling my lobe. “If I tell you, would you still stay?” My forehead formed a crease, questioning what he whispered “Itaru, what are you trying to-” He hugged me tighter before I finished my sentence. “Don’t mind what I said. All that matters today is your birthday.” He said and I thought of pushing him but the hug was so tight that I felt his heartbeat singing.
4 months later
Okay, I’d be lying if I said my heart doesn’t flutter when I’m with Itaru. He’s been constantly treating me differently since my birthday and it’s weird! He’s been sweeter and he’s done unexpected things that would make me fluster so bad. I don’t even know if he noticed that I panic when he does those things. One day he’d hug me from behind, sometimes he’d randomly hold my chin up if I didn't give my attention to him, or he’d only laugh when he lost the game! What kind of food is he eating at home?!
I don’t know what to do. My veins always have a tingle sensation when we hangout, I’d put on light makeup when he invites me to eat out or go to arcades, or see myself grinning so hard when I thought of him. This isn’t me! And now I’ve started to avoid him two weeks ago. I need to take a break from him or I’ll lose my mind if he keeps this up.
Lying down on my bed and hugging my pillow, I rolled to grab my phone. A few minutes pass by and I stare at his contact info displayed on my screen. Should I call him? Should I ask how he’s feeling? I mean he is my best friend by my God! He’s. Driving. Me. Insane. My hands trembled lightly with my chest pounding loud and fast as I pressed the call button. After a few rings, I heard a familiar voice “You finally remembered me.” As if all my anxious thoughts faded away, I sighed and my lips curved into a smile “Can I see you?”
While waiting at a cafe near the building of his theater company, I ordered some of our favorite meals and watched the people passing by outside. The bell hanging on top of the doorframe rings and I look to see a girl, who I think is about my age, walking into the cafe wearing a loose blue-striped sweater and a long denim skirt that reaches her ankles with a peach colored sling bag on her shoulder. We made eye contact and I was surprised to see her walking towards me. “Are you Haru? You’re Itaru’s friend right?” she asks, I’ve never met her in my entire life. I hesitated for a bit then nodded in response, she smiled softly “Mind if I sit with you? Are you waiting for someone?”
“Y-Yes. I’m waiting for a friend. I suppose we’ve never met before but you know me and Itaru. What’s your name?” I stuttered while holding my iced coffee. The girl sat down beside me and clasped her hands together in shock “Oh! I guess he hasn’t mentioned me to you yet. I’m Izumi Tachibana, director of Mankai Company and Itaru’s girlfriend.” I paused for a moment when I was about to put my coffee down and looked at her. Our eyes met and she gave me a smile. I laughed awkwardly and the bell on the cafe door rang and we both turned to see Itaru walking in. He smiled at me but was shocked to see Izumi beside me “Haru, I see that you’ve met our director.”
“Izumi, do you mind if I borrow your boyfriend for a sec? Thanks.” I stood up and pulled Itaru out and far from the cafe before I could hear her answer. He squirms at my grip as I keep pulling, trying to remove his arm and being all confused. When we were far enough I let go of his arm and faced him. “What’s gotten into you, Haru?” he asks while rubbing his arm in pain.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you have a girlfriend?” The question escaped my mouth before I could process what to say. He blinked a few times and raised his hands like a culprit caught in the act “What do you mean girlfriend? Do you mean Izumi?”
“Who else do you think I’m referring to? Since when have you been together?” I asked as tears started to form in my eyes, I blinked quickly and looked away to avoid letting it flow. In a bustling street, it felt like our silence was longer. “Since April.” he answers and my gaze returns to him. It’s like an axe had struck down on me and cut me in half. He held a guilty expression across his face and scratched his nape out of nervousness. “I was worried when you weren’t calling or texting me.”
“Don’t change the subject.” I retorted. “I've been your best friend for so many years, Itaru, and you didn’t even bother telling me about having a girlfriend. Was it after your birthday? What do you even take me for?” He went completely silent and avoided my gaze, I continued. “For weeks, I’ve been overthinking everything that you’ve been doing while we’re together and then I’ll find out that you have a girlfriend for what- for two months already? Are you trying to experiment with me or something? You could’ve just asked me; not make me confused about your intentions.” I hissed. Before I could process, tears started running down my cheeks and Itaru looked up with concern as he heard a sniffle. I wiped the tears with my palm and held up my other hand to stop him from approaching me.
“I’m sorry.” he mutters and a scoff escapes my lips. I lowered my hand and thought of something that I know I’ll regret later.
“You know I’ve been confused about you since my birthday.” He looks up to meet my gaze “You’ve been sweeter than before, you acted like my boyfriend a lot of times that I couldn’t ignore my other friends when they're teasing me, you weren’t denying anything when people ask - like you weren’t like that before! And most of the time, I’ve always felt something tingling in my veins. It’s weird to hear, I know. My heart races when you do things like that. At first I ignored it because I’m used to you showering me affection and doting on me, but this time it felt different.” I confessed, dropping my head down and sobbed my eyes out. “I can’t believe you have the power to make me like this, you bastard. I’ve started to fall for you, Itaru, but I guess I’m too late, am I? You got to meet your new player two and… I’ve become an NPC who’ll only watch you and your partner in battle.” We both stood at the side of a building for a while. I kept on crying, he kept silent, then for a few minutes, strong arms surrounded me and a hand caressed my back, urging me to sob on his chest.
“I’d rather fight with you than enjoy my victories with someone else.”
It took a moment for me to calm down and what he said had already sunk in. Pulling my body away from him, I saw him with a smile on his face, my forehead creased and punched his stomach lightly “What the hell, Chigasaki.”
“That’s all it takes to take it out from you.” Now I’m even more confused. He walks towards me and puts his forehead on mine. “You’ll always be my favorite player two, Haru. No one will take away that title from you. You’ve finally let your heart be held when my heart was in yours this entire time.”
“All those gifts…”
“It was my way of expressing my true feelings. I secretly hoped you’d find out sooner.” He replied and my eyes were in full shock, backing away with my hand on my mouth. “You seriously wanted me to go full on Sherlock Holmes with all your cryptid flowers! I’m slow for those kinds of things!”
“I wasn’t supposed to drag it for a few months. Last Valentines Day, you invited me to hangout and I planned on confessing but I saw you with Kazunari and thought you deserved better. That’s when I cancelled our plans.” Itaru explained further “And your birthday? If you told me that you found out the meaning of those flowers, I’d confess even if it gives me a double kill to ruin our friendship and you reject me. I just couldn’t pretend anymore. For years, I’ve yearned for you in silence and now, I finally got my answer.” He smiled and I punched his arm after the pain from my grip just faded away, he winced in pain and I breathed deeply. I know I’m naive but I’m not that dumb. Loving this man has hurt me so badly at the same time healed me as if a thousand cuts were gone in a flash. All my energy today started to drain me to the core and it’s because of him.
“You’re such a jerk. What about Izumi?” I asked and he was still in pain. He laughs at my question. “Coming from the person who took years to like me back. Izumi’s just our director. We never dated. I can’t believe you fell for her act considering she didn’t take any lessons.” He pointed to the side and I followed the direction. I saw Izumi on the other street near a curry stall, then waved at us. She mouths at me with her hands in a prayer form, asking for forgiveness. I looked at Itaru and he nodded at her then watched her leave.
I squeezed his cheeks and faced him “You went through such lengths just for me to understand your feelings and even made a mess out of me in public.” Itaru held my hands on his face, removed them, and kissed the tips of my fingers. I felt a wave of heat on my cheeks and I tried pulling away but he wouldn’t let go. “You still look cute even if you say you look like a mess though.” God, I feel like I’ve unlocked a new version of Itaru Chigasaki. “I’ll buy you new clothes at your favorite thrift store.”
“Fine! I’ll also make up for the weeks I’ve ignored you.”
“That’s the girl I love.”
“Itaru Chigasaki!” I shouted and he laughed while holding my hand as we walked to the thrift store. “Don’t you think my luck was all out today that I got to be your first boyfriend?” He added and I felt my face turn into a tomato from blushing too hard. Itaru pulled me and my face clashed with his chest, hugging me tightly once again. “I won’t get tired of this. God, don’t let her get taken away from me-” Before he could finish, I pulled his collar and kissed him “I love you too, you yapper, now shut up so I can change clothes.” I tried pulling him but he became stronger and held my nape to kiss me again, but deeper. My arms flung over his neck and kissed for a while, never minding the people passing by us.
When I felt his grip loosen, I lightly pushed him away and ran. Itaru was left in awe followed by a teasing smile, stood up and sighed “How could I ever live without you, Haru?” then started to run after me and I ran faster while avoiding the crowd.
Both struck by cupid at different times yet they’d still find each other wherever they landed. Love had killed them once, yet it healed them the next.
Dangerous Game
A3! Fanfic ✦ 11/20/2020 (Reposted from my old X account) Revised: 10/14/2025 | Word count: 2364
A woman wakes up to see an unfamiliar man beside her, offers her a dangerous bet about her ex, and unravels the truth behind their connections.
[Meia’s]
I’ve always dreamed of having a married life. A husband to greet with when one comes home from work, support and comfort each other, cooking together, playing together with the kids, and watching our favorite shows and movies. Those are what my boyfriend, Banri, and I promised each other. Living a happy and simple life.
However, all plans came to ruin.
My body felt restless the moment I sat up from the bed with no clothes and no memory of anything that led up to this. A man with long and smooth silver hair laid beside me and looked at me with the corners of his mouth softly rising, “Hi darling, is your back alright?” the man asked, shifting slightly on the bed. I looked everywhere and saw a robe on the floor near the sofa. I slowly stood up and walked to pick up the robe and wrap it on my body. “You really look ravishing without the clothes on.”
“Can you please stop? I’m already stressing out about what happened.”
“Want to jog your memory? You were magical last night.”
“Please.” I sarcastically said and he sat up. His mini him waving through the sheets and I don’t why my eyes caught that moment. Making eye contact with him, he crossed his arms “We met at the hotel bar last night. I was casually drinking and saw a man walk up to you, caressing your body and pulling you while you were heavily drunk.” My brow raised, suspicious if he’s telling the truth or not. “Then I acted as your boyfriend and they immediately left. You were too wasted to not tell me where you live so I thought I’ll let you sleep here in my condo but things got heated.”
“Are you serious?”
“Do I look like I’m making it up?”
“You do.”
“It’s the truth. I even got a video of you running down the hallway and screaming your ex’s name.”
“My what?” I asked, walking up to him while giving him a piercing gaze “He’s not my ex.”
“Check your messages. You showed them to me last night, ranting about him, and what he did to you. You were a mess sobbing for a guy who doesn’t deserve you.” He replies. I took my bag that was on the table and looked for my phone. Once I got it, I looked through the messages and saw how much I slowly drunk texted him while he was saying we’re breaking up. “Shit.” I only muttered and I heard a sexy chuckle from the man in front of me. “I guess I got hurt when you said his name while we were doing it. It’s a good thing too that you’re not the type to leave after a one-night stand, Meia.”
“I’m old enough to not do that. It’s unfair that you know my name and I don’t know yours.” I retorted as he stood up and I looked away “Geez, put some clothes on. It’s making me uncomfortable.” “You were fine with it last night though.”
“I was drunk!”
“Point taken.” He said and took the extra robe under the table beside the bed “I’m Azuma.”
“Real name?”
“Real name. Yukishiro Azuma.” he answers and I nodded with a tingling sense that I heard that name before. “Now that we know each other’s name. How ‘bout we exchange emails?” He asks. My forehead creased and folded my arms over my breasts “And for what? This will be the first and last time we’ll talk.” What could possibly be asked in this situation? “Compensation for clinging to me the entire night and I paid for your drinks before we left. Good thing I learned to have a lot of patience from being a long-time cuddler.” Oh. I thought as he hover his finger over his mouth, trying to suppress a chuckle “Cuddler? You sleep with other people? Like a hooker?” I asked continuously and he smiled.
“Literally sleeping with them. Listening to their frustrations until they calm down.”
“That’s such a weird job. You got this huge condo from that?”
“Mm, kinda.” he answers and my mouth agape. How much is he paid with every person he’s slept with? “But for you, it’s a different kind of cuddle.” I rolled my eyes at his attempt to flirt again and he held my head for a moment “You’re in such a bad mood, Meia. It’s only eight in the morning.” Of course I’m in a bad mood after realizing I came from a breakup and I slept with a stranger with a lingering feeling I cheated. Usually, people leave the other after one night but I’m different. I needed to know what I did. At least that’s what I thought. His aura makes me at ease and he’s easy to talk to.
Before I could process anything, I felt a hand under my chin and held my head up to meet his eyes. His face is so close to mine that we could kiss if one of us moved away. “What are you doing?” I muttered under my breath “What do you think?” he asked back. I was about to cup his face when his hand caught mine and made me lean more on the couch. “Let’s play a game.”
“I’m not doing it.”
“It’s obvious that you still can’t move on from the fact that you both broke up six months ago. If you’re brave enough to confront him and prove to me that both of you haven’t broken up, then I’ll leave you alone and we won’t see each other again.” As he explained, I felt a light pang inside my chest. “If you win?”
“We’ll have a date and I’ll be able to help you move on.” He said and walked to the table to pour champagne in two thin glasses, he continued “We’ll play for a week. You can send me a message anytime when you’re ready to tell me the results.” Who did I get myself involved with? All I wanted was a simple life but the universe introduced this man to me. Yukishiro Azuma. The familiarity of that name’s still at the tip of my tongue.
Four days have passed. No call or texts from Banri. I don’t recall the reason why we parted ways and I couldn’t move on from him. Every after shift at the office, gifts were sent to me and I thought it was Banri but it’s always from Azuma - it’s either a bouquet of flowers, a box of donuts, or a full lunch meal for me and my colleagues. It’s confusing me so much on what he really wants with me. We only just met in one night and he’s acting like he knows me for a long time. Talk about attachment.
Before I went home, I drove to Banri’s apartment. Even before we were lovers we were friends and I hope that we also didn’t ruin that relationship. From the moment I stood in front of the door, I heard the loud voices of a girl from the inside. “Banri, let’s eat dinner! Take a rest, will you?” He’s happy with somebody else already. I thought as tears flowed down my cheeks “Alright, alright, can’t always say no to you. I’ll take your box of juice out first before we start. Hold on.”
“Shit.” I muttered under my breath and as I was about to step away, Banri opened the door and we made eye contact “Meia.” he mentions with his eyes widened. He closes the door behind him, puts down the box, and looks at me. “What are you doing here? Do you have stuff left in the apartment?” So he didn’t clean the apartment again even when the new girl’s there. I said in my mind. “Ah nothing! I already got all of my things out of there. Is it alright if we talk a bit?” I asked, Banri contemplated for a moment and nodded “Let’s talk while I take out the box.” I nodded back and we walked down the stairs.
“What’s wrong, Meia? I messaged that we shouldn’t see each other anymore since Serin doesn’t like you.” Banri starts and I fidget the strap of my bag. “That’s part of what I want to talk about.” He gave me a glance and stopped in the middle of the stairs “What do you mean?” I took a deep breath and gripped the strap “I feel like I’m having memory loss from the breakup. It probably gave me trauma. When I got drunk, I barely remembered anything. My brain only remembers that we separated six months ago but I don’t know who broke it off with who.” After I explained, Banri looked away. Did something happen that was so heavy that I forgot? “I guess it’s been a while so I’ll tell you. I know you won’t forgive me for this.”
“I cheated you with Serin because for months we’ve been in a constant fight and didn’t talk to each other a lot. We both knew the relationship wasn’t working anymore like before.” Banri explained without beating around the bush and I felt my chest tighten. “You were the one who broke it off with me when you found out about the cheating incident. A few weeks later, you wanted us to be back together and I was the one who refused. The relationship took a toll on us both.” Everything fell on me all at once after he explained. The uncontrollable sobbing, the anger, the frustrations, the confrontations, everything. Right, we were never sure with each other from the start so we knew it wasn’t going to work in the long run but we stayed together for two years. We were simply caught up in a nightmare that felt like a dream. The promises we made to each other were nothing but empty shells of a love so hollow. It was the right decision to break up with him yet my heart loved him enough that he didn’t see it at every angle. I got my answers.
We stood in front of the building and felt the coldness of the weather and the conversation. I pressed my lips together and scoffed “You actually deserved it. Thank you for opening my eyes. I hope you get to be happier with your new girl than when we were still together.” He smiled lightly and nodded “I hope you find someone who can be by your side too. The one who deserves you and the one you deserve to be with. I wanted our friendship to stay as it was but Serin doesn’t like that. See you around, Meia.” Before Banri walks back, I call out to him “I need to ask you something.” He stopped and approached me “What is it?”
“Does Yukishiro Azuma ring a bell to you?” I questioned and he looked confused at first then snapped his fingers like a lightbulb appeared above his head “Yukishiro Facials! I believe I read his name as the owner alongside Izumida Azami from Aza Mida, the sister company. Their products are seriously good. Why are you curious about him all of a sudden?” It’s like a bomb dropped on me with how much I’m bewildered from the information. What do you mean he’s not just some cuddler?! Banri waved his hand at me and I blinked back to reality, laughing nervously “Nothing much. I just find his hair attractive, that’s all! Thanks for answering, you need to get back your new girl’s looking for you.” I said while pointing up and he saw his girlfriend looking at us. He immediately rushed back upstairs and I walked away from the building.
Walking home, I did lots of reflecting. This game is more serious than I thought. A dangerous game. I sat down on a playground swing and combed my hair with both of my hands out of nervousness, watching the snow land on my face. Am I ready to send him a message?
“That was quick. Thought you’ll back out from the game because you’re not ready to get answers from him.” My head quickly turned to where the voice came from and I saw him wearing a brown sweater with black pants and shoes, his silver hair tied into a low ponytail, and holding a cup of hot coffee. “You said I’ll message you.”
“Well, you were taking too long and I had nothing better to do so I let my assistant watch you.”
“Stalker of a CEO.”
“You flatter me. Can’t believe your ex knows my reputation.”
“He’s a marketing graduate.” I answered and he made an ‘oooh’ and sipped from his cup while taking a seat next to my swing. After a few minutes of silence, I felt my phone vibrate and opened a message from Banri.
BANRI: Don’t get mad. Mr. Yukishiro told me that you were coming. We talked because he's my employer and he kept asking about you since he found out we separated. If you have something going on, let me know if you’re in danger but I know he’s a chill guy. He gave me more products than I usually buy. About our breakup, everything’s real. See you around, Meia.
MEIA: You sold me off, bastard.
“I wouldn’t say sold off.” he says as I turned off the screen, I sighed “Shut up. You just wanted me to give myself a reality check since you already got your answer.” He chuckled lightly and leaned over me “Looks like I’ve been exposed. I won, let’s have our date?” I looked to my right side and saw him smiling “Fine. I’m yours, Yukishiro.” I said and he stood up to walk up to me, his hand reaching out and offering to help me stand up “Don’t worry. I won’t keep any more secrets from you. I’ll take care of you until we take this to bed.” I punched his arm and he laughed, “Pervert of a CEO.”
Maybe this won’t be so bad. I hope so. I’ve always dreamt of having a simple life, but I guess it’ll be spicier with Azuma around.
Nine Reasons
A3! Fanfic ✦ 11/09/2020 (Reposted from my old X account) Revised: 10/13/2025 | Word count: 3143
A girl receives a box of gifts and letters from her lover after he passed.
One love. Nine reasons. It’s what he wrote. It’s what she found.
Hi Pino!
You’re finally reading this. Well, if you’re reading this, there’s something wrong again. I know I’m hurting you with this illness of mine other than having fevers. Every day and every night, I’m always grateful for your patience in taking care of me. At the same time I feel like a burden in holding you back from so many opportunities and meeting other guys. You tell me so many interesting things in your life - your dreams, your goals, your hobbies - and I’m happy to share the same energy with you. Keep telling me new stories and I’ll listen. My heart will always be with you.
Your listener, Kumon
Nine. “You bring stories that pull me away from reality.”
Heya Pino!
We were asked in an interview again what we wanted to do if we didn’t choose to become an actor. A lot of the guys had some super awesome choices like professional sleeper, international poet, beauty vlogger, fashion designer, and even a full-time Veluflix critic! They sound sooooo cool!! Me? I answered that I’d go back to playing baseball. I just couldn’t resist the sport and I know you know that hehe
Oh yeah! I just remember the time when we laid down at the park and we asked each other that same question. We both answered at the same time to be together forever. You even laughed at me while I was whining, saying that in the future you wouldn’t be my wife. Pino, I love you. I love you I love you I love you. I couldn’t bear to replace you. I’d make a list but Tenma’s calling me. Gotta go now!
Your soon-to-be-partner-in-life, Kumon
Eight. “You’re my forever muse.”
Pinoooooooo!
Happy hearts day!! I’m soooooo sorry that I only gave you a small present. I had planned a big surprise but something went wrong - I guess these letters are my big surprise (not in a negative way!) I hope you’ll forgive me :(
Anyway! This’ll be a long message (I think) but I hope this will make you happier! Pino, my love, my darling, my only, when we met when we were doing a street act, I was super duper mega nervous and I didn’t know what to think. Sure, I enjoy people watching and helping promote our company but I malfunctioned when I saw you. Misumi didn’t notice at first but good thing he saved my butt back there. You look so pretty smiling and laughing. My mind couldn’t help but say to steal looks from you. I can tell you were shocked when we pulled you for a skit but you did great with the funny improvs. My heart was about to burst when you agreed to give me your email - I’m usually shy… I really am! But courage spiked that day and I really wanted to get to know you.
Thank the universe everything worked out and look where it got us now. I love you so much, Pino. I can say that to you a million times! Before I’d say those words to my friends and family, but I don’t know. It hits differently when I say it to you. Gosh, even Azuma teases me on how much I’m whipped for you! I’m lucky to be the guy that you can call your boyfriend. Thank you for teaching me how to love more.
Your number one yearner, Kumon
Seven. “You taught me how to love unconditionally.”
Hey Pino,
I’ve been writing these letters for almost two months now. Don’t worry, this isn’t anything serious. You won’t believe what happened in the dorm. Azami scolded nii-chan to have a strict skincare schedule with how dry his face was and was having breakouts every time theater makeup was applied. It was so funny I teased him but when Banri came along I just went back to being poker faced. Even just by his presence, ugh it annoys me!
Anyway, I hope you’re doing fine, my princess, I miss you sooooo much! By the time you read this, I want you to know that I’ll be here to make you happy as long as we’re together. I’m sorry for the days when I couldn’t text you. I had something going on and practices have been stricter especially Yuzo-san’s around again. I wish you good luck with your upcoming exams, Pino! I love you!
Your number one cheerleader, Kumon
Six. “Happiness is something we share.”
Hi Pinooooo
I still feel guilty when I called you so late at night because of my panic attack. My heart and mind calms down whenever I get to hear your voice. The truth is, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to wake up while having a high fever. That's why it triggered me and I apologize for worrying you so much.
Me and nii-chan went for a check-up and the doctor said that due to my consistent high fevers to the point I was rushed before (I’m sorry I didn’t let you know about that) I had something hyper- I couldn’t remember since it was too complicated when I first heard about it. But said that it could be life-threatening and that made me devastated for days. They’re trying to find ways on how to treat me. I hope it doesn’t get worse.
I want to listen to your loving voice more. You really bring comfort and it takes away all my anxious thoughts. Sorry for being a burden with all the random calls and I understand if you couldn’t answer right away. The others are worried during practices and nii-chan’s doing his best to take care of me. I hope that you’re here beside me but I also don’t want to let you know. Am I too selfish? Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you if I can. Remember that I always love you. I’ll be taking a rest now.
Your heart, Kumon
Five. “Your voice keeps me at ease.”
My Pino~
Our date at the local baseball tournament was a blast! You also gave me the opportunity to teach you at the Veludo batting cage - I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long! It was a little upsetting that the team we were rooting for lost the game but oh well, it is what it is. They can improve for the next game hehe if you’d ask me what was the most fun part of the date I’d answer the rain pouring while we were playing. Everything felt like a romance movie and it was magical! From now on, rainy weather will be my favorite… except for storms maybe. That’s how I’ll remember our moments and I hope it’ll remind you of me. Good thing our house was nearby and I got to see you wearing my clothes. You look so cute when you wear my shirts and when you were trying on my jerseys! Let’s have another date soon, okay?
Your baseball-obsessed bf, Kumon
Four. “I love seeing you wearing my clothes.”
Yahoo Pino!
It’s been a month since I last wrote the last letter. I was busy dating and studying with you, check-ups, and practices ever since Muku and I were casted as leads. I’m still holding on, don’t worry. I know we just talked earlier at our closing night but I miss you already. You really surprised me when you ran up to me and gave me a tight hug. As much as I wanted to feel proud, my shyness got the better of me and we were greeting the audience at the exit so everyone was looking at us. You even yelled that I’m the best lead for you to everyone and I was blushing so hard like a tomato! The other members kept teasing me all about it! But that’s okay since I like teasing them not having lovers hehe but you do really act like a mom sometimes and I was wondering if you’ll be like that in the future - supportive, loving, and likes to flex the people you love.
Even at my lowest of lows, you’re always there to support and encourage me. When I’m trying my best to hide my nervousness, I see you sitting and it’s like everyone disappeared and I’m performing only for you. That’s why I’m going to do the same to you! I will always support you until you achieve your dreams and life goals. You can do it, Pino! If you need me to listen to your worries and frustrations, I’m one call away!
Gotta end this letter here. The floral prince’s calling me for the afterparty. Rest up and see you again! I love you!!
Your loving, dependable, and shining Broto, Kumon
Three. “You always support my highs and lows.”
My Loving Pino~
It’s almost my princess’ birthday! I’m so happy to be alive to witness another year of your beauty. I’m excited how your day will unfold! When was the last time we went to a comic con? Two or three years ago? Wow, it’s been a while. Let’s go to another one if you like! I’ll give you the best comic con experience of your life! Better than we had before! Just the two of us, too. I’ll ask Muku and nii-chan to give us at least one day together~
We’ll look at your favorite shoujo mangas, go to the place you’ll like, go to the amusement park or arcade, take a foodtrip, and you’ll receive my surprise ‘til the end of the day. I hope your parents agree. If not, I’ll take you out secretly, alright? Just kidding, I'll ask for their permission in advance. I love you sooooo much! I can’t wait to see you again!
Your partner-in-crime, Kumon
Two. “Our interests intertwined under the universe’s call.”
Pino, I’m afraid this will be hard for you to absorb. This will be my final gift for our anniversary.
It’s been seven months and I’m writing again to let it all out. These past few months have been harder on my physical and mental health. My brain keeps forgetting a lot of things. There were days when your name became unfamiliar to me. I’m scared. I don’t want to lose any memories of you. This illness… It's called hyperpyrexia. It’s the main reason for my consistent high fevers and what they also saw was a growing tumor in my brain. I’m very sorry if I ever ignored you when you were calling out to me or showed any bad behaviors around you.
I thought it was just a normal fever but it took days then weeks for me to recover. The amount of times when I lost consciousness and had seizures began increasing and we even lied to you when I’m now confined at the hospital. The audacity I know. The treatments worked before but now, the doctor said that the tumor can’t be removed anymore as the disease cells can spread to other organs. When I forget, illusions come into view like I see your silhouette but I don’t know that it was you. It was blurry. If I seem to forget you, I’m secretly hoping that you’ll help me remember but I don’t want you to worry about me so much.
I hope you’ll understand why I did this. Nii-chan said that you and him are the ones I keep forgetting because both of you are the closest people that I have right now. My heart hurts so much. I want to remember you until the very end, Pino. You fading away is the last thing I want to see, I don’t even want to see that happen.
If I never got to see you again and I didn’t give this box to you in time, I want you to be strong. You’ll have a meltdown, I know, but I wish you to be the brave girl that I always love. I hope it rains the day I’ll go to heaven so that I can still remember you and when I get to heaven I’ll send a light pour to make sure to remind you that I’m always there for you. It was never my intention to hurt you but this is the only thing that I can do. I’m sorry and I love you. Always and forever. Remember that.
All the love, Kumon
One. “I wish to remember everything about you until my next life.”
One box. Nine heartfelt letters. It’s what he forgot to give, it’s what she’ll remember.
The center of the letter gets soaked with tears, everything silent except for the endless gasps, sobs, and loud screaming of his name only filled the room. The box of letters and gifts were given to Pino a week after Kumon passed. Juza and Muku felt guilty that they never hinted to her about Kumon’s illness. The last time Kumon and Pino talked was when he called her late at night, telling her how much he loves her and he’s thankful for meeting her. She was worried when she heard those words and rushed to the hospital. Like he’ll never come back.
And she was right.
By the time she arrived at his room, all she heard were multiple murmurs and the sound of a heart machine playing a consistent note, nurses surrounding him - removing all his life support and IV. Two doctors talking to Juza and Muku, confirming his time of death. Pino dropped everything and felt her knees weakened, Juza and Muku saw Pino at the door with surprised looks and immediately approached her, helping her stand up and sit at the nearest couch. Pino’s tears started to flow silently and slowly started sobbing. Muku hugged her tightly as they watched a nurse cover Kumon with a white cloth.
“We’re really sorry, Pino.” Juza says, while looking at the soaked letters in the girl’s hands. Pino closed her eyes and with her mouth shaking in anger and sadness “Why…” she started, a few minutes passed before she continued “Why did none of you tell me the truth? All of you were taking care of him except for me. I’m his girlfriend.” silence was the response “I would’ve-” she gripped her forehead and felt her heart ache at every word she let out “I would’ve been there until his last breath! No one told me it was getting this worse. I’ve always thought that it was just a mild illness and that he’d get better with the medicine but no one. But no! Not a single person dared to prepare me for the thing growing in his brain and that he was already dying!”
“It was his wish to never let you know until two weeks before he passed. He was ready to give you the box.”
“Then why did no one call me?”
“You were busy with the exam and he didn’t want to bother you. Four days later, he forgot but he said we couldn’t risk letting you know about his temporary memory loss or you’ll get hurt.”
“Well, I’m hurting more that I didn’t know everything until he’s already gone!” Pino looked back at Juza and Muku standing behind her, Muku took a step “Last month, he was already fine until he collapsed again and we rushed here to the hospital. When everything became stable, he regained consciousness and the first thing that he did was ask for a pen and paper. He wrote his last letter before his illness acts up again and asks that we call you after a week and he’ll give the box to you.”
“And that’s when you were unreachable and Kumon started to forget you again.” Juza added “Everything was sudden and we couldn’t do anything. We couldn’t leave him.”
Pino sat down and started to sob again. “As much as I want to lash out more, all my energy drained the moment I opened that box. I’m done.” she confessed.
After Kumon endured all the illusions that had been lurking in his mind, it was also a point where his life could be taken away. If he were to be given two choices: to avoid the person closest to his heart to have the memories or to endure the illusions with a high possibility of dying, he’ll always choose to be with her. He loves her. He loved her. He never wanted to love again but he’ll be happy if Pino would love another if he went away.
Three years have passed. Pino stood in front of his grave with a small paper in her hand. She sighs and puts down the letter on top of his name along with morning glory flowers “I remember that you said you like morning glory, Mon.” she stares at the flowers and caresses the cemented name “I asked the florist what it means. It blooms in the morning and wilts in the afternoon, yet it symbolizes lasting love and new beginnings. You already gave me a hint and I was too young to pick it up. You went away too soon. It feels wrong to go to college without you by my side.” Drops appeared on the cement and she wiped her cheeks, realizing that she’s crying again. A few minutes later, more drops started to fall and she looked up to see a sun shining with light rain pouring. She suddenly felt his presence by her side and cried even more. “I miss you, Mon.”
Dear Kumon,
I hope, even as a spirit, you get to read this letter. Why did you think that I can be strong without you? You’re the only reason I’m able to face everything. Not gonna lie, I’d rather feel the pain from a temporary breakup rather than a permanent one. You could’ve stayed. You should’ve lived! I’m so upset with myself that I didn’t realize earlier and I know you’ll scold me for being too hard on myself again. We’re supposed to be 18 together but you stopped at 16.
Juza and Muku have been trying to make it up to me. I won’t be able to accept that you’re gone but I know that I should live my life for you. I will never forget you. Thank you for staying with me even for a few years. We’ve comforted each other more than we should. You sacrificed so much for love and it’s time for me to do the same. The box of letters and trinkets will always be by my side and will be the closest to my heart. I love you very much. I’ll say it to you a million times. I hope in our next life we’ll be able to love each other freely and grow old together. In sickness and in health.
Your lifetime lover, Pino

Guy was once called an “android” for suppressing emotions and obediently following orders from the royal family. Nightmares keep coming back to haunt his wife and he learns to comfort her.
Loud thunders and strong rainfall pass through the walls at two in the morning. A girl kept shuffling on the bed and squirming in fear for a while “No…” She whimpers, hugging her pillow tighter “Where are you… Guy…” calling out her husband’s name, Guy wakes up and sits up to check his wife “Guy! Don’t leave! I can’t see you… I don’t want this!” the girl screams and Guy shakes her to snap her to reality “Jae? Jae, wake up. I’m here, honey.”
Guy’s attempts in waking up his wife fails. She starts flailing her arms, reaching out on thin air, screaming for her husband. “Wake up, Jae!” Shaking her shoulders again, Jae’s eyes finally opened with flowing tears on her cheeks. She hugged Guy after their eyes met and sobbed more “You were walking away.” she starts while trying to catch air “I thought I lost you again. My heart ached so much and you never looked back while I was trying to reach for you.” Guy rubbed her back and kissed her head, he cradling her in his arms “I’ll never leave you, Jae. I love you too much for me to do that. We’re already past the moments where we were always separated.”
Jae pulled away and looked at Guy with her eyes still brimming with tears and rosy cheeks “You said to me in my dream that you filed for a divorce. I was so confused and broken when I heard that.”
“It’s only a night terror, honey. I won’t say that I assure you.” He replies and kisses her on the lips “You can calm down now. It’s still midnight and we still have a long day ahead.”
“Promise?”
“Promise until death arrives.”
“Not that far- I mean we swore but not that early!” Jae scolds and Guy laughed. He pulls his wife down on the bed while her head lays on his arms. Jae looks up and smiles at her husband “I love you.”
“I as well, my jasmine. Do you remember how we first met?” He asks. He knows his wife couldn’t go back to sleep after having a night terror. Jae nods in response “I remember you being so awkward around me that you didn’t dare to talk or approach me. It was kind of hard understanding you, it was a good thing Citronia was there to translate. You were answering with only a singular word or broken phrases.”
“It was always engraved in my mind that an android such as I would never feel emotions, let alone love someone. Until Citronia and the others helped me face my past and when I saw you with our director.” Jae kisses Guy’s shoulder in comfort and rubs his cheek “You do have a lot of secrets on your sleeve, but I’m always here to unravel all of them. You’re one of a kind.” He felt his heart skip a beat and his arms started tingling. He felt very lucky to be the husband of the woman in his arms that he sometimes surprises himself.
No one understood him for a long time. Coming from a foreign country, following Citron, meeting new people, and dealing with so much trauma that made him remember his childhood memories. Little did he know that performing on stage would lead him to meet his future wife talking to their director. It took a long time for him to gather the courage, with the help of Citron, and ask Jae for a date. Jae’s patience has also helped progress their relationship and both of them admired each other even more. For ten years, they finally tied the knot after Guy’s birthday and considered having little ones.
Jae nuzzled on her husband’s chest and Guy chuckled at her cuteness “You’re sleepy now, aren’t you?” Jae hums in response to his question “Go to sleep. I’ll be awake for a bit longer.”
“You’re not leaving, are you?”
“Because of work, yes. Because of you? Never. I just want to make sure you’re asleep or you’ll have night terrors again.” Jae giggles. Guy combs her hair with his fingers and closes his eyes to rest with his wife safe in his arms, hugging him. They listened to the soft pitter patters of the pouring rain out the window until their consciousness left and entered a deep slumber.

One’s a photographer, one’s a vintage enjoyer. Both hearts connected through music and the universe grants their wishes.
Saturday morning - Omi starts taking photos at vintage stores in Veludo Way for his next project. As he enters Veludo Vinyl, a vintage store selling vinyls, he asks for permission for photos and searches for his favorite album. “Could it be here? … Hm no, not here.” The one he’s looking for was recently released in limited edition and he’s worried it’ll get sold out quickly.
He wandered in different sections and passed by the playing booths where one of the familiar songs can be heard. His head turned immediately like a bird and saw a woman vibe in the booth. He watched her until the song ended and as she opened her eyes, she was surprised by a tall man in front of her booth, only a glass door between them, and staring at her. She felt embarrassed, grabbed her things, and left the booth. Omi wanted to talk to her but he thought that he scared her as he’s mostly misunderstood as a gangster.
She’s ethereal. He thought, followed by an idea of capturing her beauty. After a while, he gathered courage to walk up to her looking at other vinyls. The woman side eyed him and slowly moved away out of awkwardness but Omi kept approaching.
“Excuse me,” he shyly said, scratching his brow “sorry for bothering you. I’m working on a college project and it requires a nostalgic feeling. I was wondering if you could be my subject since you look beautiful.” The woman turned doe-eyed after hearing his offer and felt her heart skip with his compliment.
“I’m Omi. Fushimi Omi.” He introduced with his hand out for a handshake. The woman looked at his hand and then his brown pupils, she accepted his hand. “The name’s Rie. I don’t know much about modelling, is it alright? You can guide me or something.” she asked, the man smiled with his eyes slightly disappearing “It’s fine. You just need to look through the vinyls and the artifacts in the store and I’ll take care of your shots.” Rie nodded at his response.
It took an hour and a half to finish the photoshoot and the store owner teased them a lot about being a potential couple because of how much chemistry they had in their conversations and how Omi guided Rie with her angles and poses.
As they both skim through the photos, Omi felt a heat in his cheeks when Rie was brushing shoulders with him and hearing her cute reactions. Rie smiled in awe with the photos he took and complimented him a lot “You’re so good at taking the best angles, Omi. Can you email them to me after? I’d love to post them on my insta!” Omi lightly laughed at her cuteness “Sure. I’ll also message you in case you didn’t receive an email notification. Since it’s already dark outside, I was thinking of treating you at the night market as a thank you for being my model.” Rie stared at him as she internally malfunctioned. Omi was her type since she saw him watching her from the booth and now the opportunity showed up that this handsome man is asking her for a meal.
An echoing name fades back in her mind and a hand waved in front of her, she blinks and smiles widely at him “I’m down! I don’t have anything to do for the next few hours other than cuddling my pillows.” They both laughed and left the store. Omi helped Rie ride his motorbike and went to the mentioned night market near a mall.
“Oh this shoyo ramen is so good! How’d you even find out about this place?” Rie asks as she takes a bite of the rolled ramen on her chopsticks “My friend from the theater company I joined recommended this place. He’s chronically online so he knows almost every store in Veludo. Sometimes, I give reviews to some of the restaurants and shops too.” Omi answered while watching her eat. He’s fighting the urge to take another photo of her with her cheeks full of ramen like a hamster, but he thinks she’ll take it weirdly since the photoshoot concluded earlier. So this is what it feels to like someone at first sight. We probably look like a couple having a date. His inner voice spoke. Rie hummed “You’re from a theater company? I guess that's a given since Veludo has lots of theater companies and we met there. Do you mind if I ask the name?”
“It’s Mankai Company.”
“Oh my god.” Rie gasped, Omi tilted his head like a curious puppy “I knew you were familiar but I wasn’t sure!” Rie pointed with her wrist bended and her smile agape “My friend brought me to one of your shows 4 months ago. Which was it um-” she snaps her fingers “The Stranger, yeah! I remembered how you were the most handsome actor I saw on stage and the red-haired girl you’re with on the bike was so pretty.”
“Well, the girl was actually a guy, but he did look convincing enough.” Omi replied and the girl’s mouth turned into a large O about the revelation “He looked so beautiful!” You are too. Omi thought. “I didn’t know I’d be having a private meet and greet with one of the actors. My type at that.” She spoke while lowering her voice at the end, but Omi didn’t hear the end since everything was bustling around them. They talked for hours until they asked for each other’s socials and got to know each other - from photography, theater, to music taste. “Rie, do you like listening to Aurora?”
“The record that I was vibing earlier? Yeah, I love her songs!”
And I think I love you. Omi thought. “Let’s listen to her together sometime. Especially her new track ‘Exist for Love’.” he invites and Rie nodded excitedly.
Thank you, Aurora, for bringing her to me. My heart will exist for her and her only. I hope she feels the same. - Omi

Chikage asks Izumi out for a curry night out but she’s secretly dating Sakyo. Little do they know someone’s getting jealous and plotting for revenge in return for rejection.
[Sakyo’s]
I’ve been having the urge to confess but once she’s near my mouth just zips on its own and my body becomes numb to all the feelings, besides from being annoyed at the others and trying to keep their shit together. I’d miss her at times when I see things and places that remind me of her. My heart pulls strings when I see all emotions through her. She has become something that I desperately need and not seeing her chokes me to the ground. I may have lost my mind all because of Izumi. It's unusual for my behavior.
“What’s this?” Kantoku-san asked as I handed her some flowers that I bought from the flower store in Tokyo. “Forget-me-nots.” I replied shortly. Her head looked down then up with her brow arched in a confused way with her mouth curved struggling to keep a smile “Why are you giving me this?” My hands started feeling needle pricks and clenched my hand to stop it from shaking, I scratched my cheek and looked away for a bit to avoid letting her see the blood going up in my face “Tsumugi told me about these and-” I looked at her and her eyes were had stars that emphasized her beauty, I looked away again “This is just a gratitude gift from the boys. They said I should give it to you, kantoku.” She smiled and felt the petals on her fingertips. “Thank you, Sakyo-san. Tell them to say my thanks.” I cleared my throat and grabbed her head then ruffled her hair. It’s like a cat bit my tongue. “Didn’t I tell you to only call me ‘Izumi’? You’re older than me, you know.”
“Stop acting like I’m some senior citizen.”
“And yet you act like one.”
It was just like yesterday when we met. I have no idea what got into her head when she thought of recruiting me but I remember that she told me she saw me in an old footage. Never have I ever thought she’d consider a yakuza joining a theater company - I would’ve never realized that I’d have a family that I can cherish and fall in love with the same person who saw my passion.
“Kantoku, want to come eat out tonight? A new curry restaurant popped out a few streets away and I’d like someone who’s an expert to come review the menu with me.” Entering through the door I heard Utsuki’s voice and I immediately knew who he was asking. I slowly walked and saw them both sitting next to each other on the couch. Izumi quickly put down the documents and smiled widely at Utsuki, “Right now? Let’s go! I just heard about that place when I went to the grocery earlier.” Utsuki chuckled and I just hid at the wall near the entrance. I don’t want to interrupt their conversation yet it kind of hurts me that she’s smiling widely at other people while being with me, she becomes a bit awkward. “Sakyo-san? What are you doing standing over there?” Banri walked in and gave me a top-to-bottom look before heading in “Oh, Chikage-san, going out tonight?” I followed Banri and saw both of them wearing their coats. Utsuki looked at me and smiled, “Yeah, a new curry shop around the corner, want us to buy you some?” Banri shook his head in refusal and I walked in. In my peripheral vision, I saw Izumi trying to approach me but held back. Don’t hold back. I turned to look at her and she jumped slightly. “Let’s talk when you get home.” I said and never looked back.
Holding a coffee and feeling the night breeze, light footsteps can be heard on the floor and through the door. I gestured to her to sit on the pod swing while I sat on the chair near it. Long silence can be heard and she fiddles with the pillow, waiting for me to speak. “Why do you keep accepting Utsuki’s invitations?” She looked at me like a bulb lit up on top of her head and I only sipped my coffee. “You know that I love curry, Sakyo-san. I couldn’t say no.”
“The others might think both of you started dating if it goes on.”
“We’re not.”
“They don’t know that.”
“What’s this about, Sakyo-san? Suddenly lecturing me about nonsensical things when you already know the answers. It’s not like we’re using the company’s money for the eat-outs.” She replies while her brows are now furrowed. I shook my head and put down the cup, looking at her she leaned back “I didn’t say anything about the company money.”
“Then tell me why you’re upset, Sakyo-san.”
“I’m not upset.”
“You don’t have to tell me that you are.” I rubbed my temples and she got closer. “Are you jealous?” I looked at her with my forehead folded and she smiled at my reaction “Stop acting like I’m dumb, Sakyo-san. I’m only bubbly and there’s a difference. There were signs, even the people from akigumi and fuyugumi can see it.”
“I don’t understand what you’re trying to say, Izumi.” As I replied, she leaned closer to my ear and I froze. “Sorry to keep you waiting, Sakyo-san.” She cups my face and I felt soft skin lay on my lips.
[Izumi’s]
“Kantoku, this was his last letter.” Chikage says as he hands me a piece of paper while I’m munching down curry. Three days after Sakyo-san and I kissed, Chikage asked me to join him at the curry restaurant again. I took the envelope and read the name Orcus on the back of it. “Can’t you just tell me who ‘Orcus’ is?”
“Just open it.”
I rip the envelope open. The glue on the envelope felt recent like all of its stick wasn’t fully dry on the paper.
“I’m happy you kept reading my letters until the end. My love counts the days I desire to be by your side. You have accepted my soul and I wish to talk to you tomorrow. 3 AM. At the place where you found the kitten. There will be consequences if you reject me.”
I folded the letter and gave it back to Chikage. This hurts my head. “Well?” I winced at the question and looked at him “It’s different. Is it still him?” He nodded and air escaped from my mouth in frustration “You already met him. Might as well have talked to him. I’ll be right behind you if he does something bad.” I raised my brow at him in disbelief. Like he didn’t do something bad to me by kidnapping me before the premiere. He laughed like he read my mind “There was a reason why I did what I did. This one’s different, I have a bad feeling about what he’ll do.”
3:00 AM. I went out with Chikage and went to the place near the park where I first found the kitten. Chikage hid behind the cafe that’s open for 24 hours. He said he can see me from there and be quick when something happens. I rubbed my arms for heat while wearing the thickest jacket I could find.
3:42 AM. No one appeared. I thought of heading back when I heard my name from a voice I recognized. When I turned around, a hand went for my wrist and pushed me to a wall in a dark area. His face was near and his lips started making their way on mine and my other hand kept punching his chest. Chikage. Where is he? I kept punching and when I felt hands climbing on my neck to deepen the kiss I kicked his shin and he backed away. Even with hands shaking, I frantically took my phone out and turned on the flashlight. The clothes he’s wearing felt familiar, his figure making sure it was him, his innocent voice turning into something sinister that terrifies me to my core. “Are you going to accept my confession?” he asks as he lifts his head to look at me. Tears flowed on my cheeks as I stepped back and looked for Chikage. He said he could see me from the cafe, what happened to him? It’s impossible for him to abandon me, right? I looked at the guy in front of me “Kazunari, why…”
“I asked Chikage since I assume you might find it weird for younger guys to like you. Like Masumi, for example.” He stood up and slowly approached me, I stepped back to avoid him. I need to go back. “This isn’t you, Kazunari. Since when-”
“Since when did I like you?” He smiles at the question “Since you recruited me, of course. You look like someone who could be my muse. Please accept my confession, kantoku.”
“Izumi!” Before my back faces the wall again, a voice could be heard from afar. The voice of the man that had already held my heart: Sakyo-san. I looked at Kazunari and started to run, however minutes later he caught up and pulled me behind a tree, covering my mouth with a handkerchief. “You haven’t answered yet, kantoku. Let him find you.” My screams were all muffled through the handkerchief and struggled to push him. I gathered all my strength to bite his hand and run, I heard my name being called and I tried to call for Sakyo-san. We ran to each other with our arms embracing each others’ bodies and the tears flowed on his shirt, his hand combing my hair for comfort. “Chikage called me. I left immediately from the moment he told me what Miyoshi was going to do. You’re safe now.” I sobbed on his chest and we both dropped to the floor as my knees gave in.
“Enjoying the reunion?” Our bodies froze when we heard Kazunari. I was about to stand up when Sakyo-san stood in front of me. When I turned, Kazunari was holding something dark in his hand and pointed at Sakyo-san. “Not her. Don’t hurt her.” I heard Sakyo-san say and Kazunari laughed. He gestured to Sakyo-san to move away from me and had his hands up “Didn’t expect you to be one that kantoku who’ll call. Frail and old. At first I thought it’d be Chika-chon, then he said he’d help me.” He looked at me and I tried to plead in front of him. The light from the park shone on his face twisted with greed and holding a knife “What’s wrong, kantoku-chan? Afraid of a knife? I took it from my tools in case someone tries to harm or interrupt us. It seems the perfect way to stab it to little old Frooch.”
“No Kazunari!”
“What? I told you, you haven’t answered yet.”
“Answered what, Miyoshi?!” Sakyo interfered.
“To accept being my muse, Frooch. She has already tried my patience and I couldn’t wait anymore. I gave her two choices. To accept my confession or to reject me, however to reject me is to receive brutal consequences. Don’t you agree it will be a fair share of pain and torture?” Kazunari approaches me while his knife is pointed at Sakyo-san. He needs to stop. He’s out of his mind. His hands found its way to my neck and choked me to stand up. He pulls me to him and points the knife on my neck. Sakyo reaches for me but the knife digs deeper on my skin “Izumi-”
“Make your choice, kantoku.” I hear Kazunari say while looking at Sakyo-san with tears flowing. “I’m sorry for not telling you, Sakyo-san. I d-didn’t want you to worry.”
“Miyoshi, what the hell’s wrong with you?! Don’t hurt her!” Sakyo-san shouts yet Kazunari only laughs “I’ve put a hella lot of effort for months for this, Frooch, and for what? Rejection? Only to find out that you’re the one she loves? This was never in the plan but there’s now way I’ll let you both have your happy ending!” The knife went in deeper to have blood flowing and I winced in pain but then it stopped. I felt Kazunari’s arm falling off followed by his body to the ground as he lost consciousness. I look back to see Chikage with his gun in his hand. Arms wrapped tightly from behind before I could think, I turned around and saw Sakyo-san’s worried face and hugged him again. Letting me go, he stops the bleeding on my neck and pulls me away from Kazunari’s body that’s being held by Chikage.
“He needs to pay for what he’s done.” Sakyo-san lets me press on the cloth on my neck and plans to approach Kazunari yet I pull him back to stop him. “He’s unconscious now. Let’s just call the police and ambulance before I pass out.”
“I already did that a while ago while you’re both cuddling. Go sit while we wait for them to arrive. Don’t worry, I tied up Kazunari so he won’t move if he ever wakes up.” Chikage says. Sakyo-san stood up and I followed my gaze when he walked to Chikage, and in a blink, I heard a loud smack, causing Chikage to kneel with his head down “That’s for helping the bastard.”
“Sakyo-san!” I shouted and I tried to run to him but before I could reach him, I felt a strong pang of pain on my stomach. My hand reached for it and saw blood from my fingertips, my eyes quickly moved to Kazunari and saw him hold a gun between both of his hands. My knees kissed the floor and Sakyo-san held me close to him while Chikage ran back to Kazunari and fought with him. “Izumi, hold on. The ambulance’s almost here so you need to wake up. Izumi, please.” Sakyo-san’s arms cradle my body while desperately trying to hold off the blood that’s been oozing on my stomach. My hand tried to reach for his face and his hand held mine with his tears flowing on my arm. I try to smile as my eyes start to drop “Sakyo-san, come closer.” I softly call out to him and he follows “Remember that my heart will always be yours. Take care of the flowers you gave me.” He nods while trying to comb my hair away from my face, kissing my forehead. All the exhaustion is finally catching up to me. I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore yet I still want to savor the moment. “Sakyo-san.” I called out to him again “Kiss me one last time.”
I felt his lips touch mine as I poured all my remaining strength to keep ourselves close to each other for the last time. As I felt all my consciousness fading, I whispered “I love you. I’m so sorry.”
[Sakyo’s]
It’s been months since Izumi passed. Miyoshi was sent to prison thanks to Utsuki and I went back to the house where I worked as a yakuza. News spread in the dorm months after and Usui even punched me in the gut but I didn’t bother. The Mankai company then dissolved and went our own ways and back to our lives before theater happened. When Yukio-san came back, I told him about Izumi and he broke down. He bought back the company for her sake but the feeling wasn’t the same as before.
I miss her.
I had a lot of new things planned with her since the day we confessed to each other. I wanted to ask if she thought of me as much as I thought about her, how her day was, or her thoughts on the new plays and movies we’re going to watch.
Now, there will never be a chance.
Everytime I see forget-me-nots, it reminds me of her. I will never forget you, Izumi, my first and last love, my friend, our director. I will cherish your love forever.
Imprisonment
A3! Fanfic ✦ 11/05/2020 (Reposted from my old X account) Revised: 04/29/2025 | Word count: 2842
A daemon is summoned by a teenager who wishes to imprison the guy who took his crush on a date. The daemon realizes that the guy was his past lover centuries ago and aims to reconcile with him. But things don’t work as they expected.
Long before the modern era, there have been rumors that there are daemons being summoned and are being ordered to possess people. Some say people die even after they reject the daemon’s offer. Some even died after the deed was done. In this time, no one knew if those deep rumors happened before and it has become a myth after a few centuries.
“Are you sure about this, Masumi?” Tsuzuru asked as they bring the materials needed for the evocation. Masumi sighed in annoyance, “You worry too much.” As they went to an abandoned arcade, they moved the other machines and placed the materials on the floor. “Well of course I am! What if we really summon this daemon?!” Tsuzuru felt nervous on how this would go and he doesn’t know what to do if this summoning is real. He had no other choice since he’s the nearest person Masumi can pull other than Sakuya. Masumi glared at him and gave his notebook that was full of chants and other dark information. “This area will do. Tsuzuru-san, you paint the Gerbera with this white paint, Sakuya will add salt, Citron will sing, and I’ll lay the candles and items.”
After finishing the symbol, Masumi called Tsuzuru and Sakuya then gathered around in triangular form “I assume you both remember the chant?” Masumi asked and the two nervously nodded. The boys continue to look at Masumi while holding the candles as Masumi covered his eyes with eyes drawn on his hands “Ego, Usui Masumi, daemonis incarcerationis evocator, hodie te oro ut prodis, in tuo symbolo colligens, et corpus tuum super inferorum planitiem ascendat.” Finishing the summon spell, three of them stood firmly and chanted while Citron started to sing: “Ad te, magna non-ut-esse-nomine, signe nigrum stellis, et sigillum Gerbera!” While chanting, Masumi knifes his palm, letting the blood drip on the symbol. A strong burst of wind comes through the building along with dried leaves and dust flying around them. Tsuzuru panics and looks at Masumi “Masumi-”
“Did I tell you to stop?!” Masumi says with his voice combined with other deep and whispered voices. The two continued for more than an hour then a tall figure wearing a silver pitch fork as his necklace and his dark devil wings behind him and to top it all off are his small violet devil horns that are hiding in his light brown and blonde curly hair. In addition, he wears a classy gray vest with black long sleeves along with gray pants, black gloves, and dark derby shoes formed on the symbol. Tsuzuru, Sakuya, and Citron drop and are now out of breath while Masumi was captivated by the sight of the daemon standing before him “It worked. I can’t believe it.” Masumi uttered. “Who dared to summon me?”
“I did, your daemonship!” The daemon looked down on a teenage boy with blonde streaks on the sides of his face and sniggered a laugh “My, color me surprised, young one. You’re brave to summon an entity that is not of this world. What has become of your desire that you have reached this decision, my dear Master?” Masumi immediately frowned upon hearing the nickname the daemon gave him, he only thought of summoning a daemon to make himself look cool. The daemon stepped back and looked around the arcade “Goodness, no other human has summoned me for months and there are so many kinds of machinery. When was it? 1521? My dear Master, do tell me the year today.”
“2020.” “Oh 2020- pardon?” The daemon looks at Masumi with a shocked look while holding his chest dramatically “Well, I should probably adapt to the language. It’s like 5 months have passed in the underworld. Anyway, what’s your purpose for summoning me here?” Before Masumi could answer, different grunts were heard from behind them, both looking at the three people who were dropped dead earlier “Masumi? Are you alright?” Sakuya reaches for a metal bar and stands up “Did the evocation work? Who’s that beside you?” When his vision cleared up, his eyes widened and backed up to a wall “Is that-”
“Oh hello human! Your hair is quite a flamboyant wonder. Perhaps you’re one of my master’s helpers for summoning me?” The daemon teasingly smiled at Sakuya and woke Tsuzuru and Citron up “Your daemonship-”
“Please” The daemon exclaimed “you shall call me Itaru. You’re my master so I am obliged to obey your orders until our contract is done. So, your reason for summoning?”
“Imprison and torture Utsuki Chikage.” Masumi finally answered. Itaru looked at him in astonishment and smiled with excitement “Holding a heavy grudge, are we? May I ask why this specific green-haired man?”
“He stole Izumi from me.” Itaru paused then laughed at the answer and Masumi blushed in embarrassment and annoyance “Just do it, Itaru.” The daemon stopped laughing and held up his necklace which summoned a violet folder with black parchment paper inside “I have no other reason to say no, do I? Sign here and write the person you wish me to imprison. Simple as that.”
It was three in the afternoon when Chikage invited Izumi again for a curry date. Near the restaurant was Masumi hiding with Itaru standing behind him but only his form is invisible to other people. “You do know you look ridiculous covering your face with a sunflower, don’t you?” Itaru asked as he took the flower from Masumi’s hand “Just tell me where he is, Master.” Masumi pointed where the couple were sitting and when Itaru followed his gaze softened “Orpheus…” he muttered under his breath yet the boy heard it and was confused. Itaru smiled at Masumi and held his shoulders “I finally found Orpheus! You became the key to the locked path that I’ve been desperately trying to pry open. Thank you, Master. You shall never worry about him again. Go to your lover and I’ll fetch mine.”
[Itaru’s]
My vision was blurry when my Master mentioned his name, usually I can see a glimpse of a human’s features. It was odd and perhaps this was the reason. It was my Orpheus. My Master brought me to him.
“Where is he? Eury, are you still here?”
I’ve been following Orpheus for a long time ever since the God of the Underworld allowed us to go back to earth. He gave us a test as he usually does to others - one walks at the front, one stays at the back, no touching, no looking back, only communicating. “I’m right here, my love. Hear my voice and my voice only.” I reassured him yet I feel afraid of the path we’re taking. Trust is the only thing that’s important now and we need to hold on to it at all costs. “Eury? Please tell me you’re still there.”
“I’m here, Orpheus.”
“Respond to me, Eury, I’m afraid that you might not be behind me.” My smile faded when he couldn’t hear me. Has this been going on ever since we left? I started to panic and was about to reach for his arm but stopped. I'll go back if that happens, but I’ll go back when he looks back at me. “I’m here, Orpheus! Have faith that I’m here behind you!”
“Did the God of Underworld let me leave alone?”
“No, Orpheus!” Don’t look back. Don’t let me go back. Please. Why did God block his hearing? Was it the fates’ doing? Did they plot this all together? Slowly, the path started to brighten up and I looked up to see a glimpse of sunlight. “Orpheus, please. Don’t look back until we’re out!” A little more. Just a little bit more, my love.
Walking up the steep path, my legs began to numb but I needed to be behind him. Few more steps and we can see the light of day.
Yet my feet gave in.
I grunted in pain while I held out my arms to balance myself on the ground and dirt covered my face. As I removed the dust from my eyes, I looked up and I saw my lover’s eyes looking at me in concern and holding out his hands. No. We were almost there. This became our fate. Instead of showing hurt, I smiled at him as a farewell “My heart will always be yours, my love. Wait for me.” I felt the ground become a dark abyss as I felt my body fall and hear Orpheus call my name for the last time.
After that, I slowly forgot what he looked like. How his voice sounded. My mind may have forgotten but my heart didn’t. I worked under the God of the Underworld and became the Daemon of Imprisonment, never once did I see Orpheus in the Underworld which devastated me. Not only do I make contracts with humans, but I imprison and torture their souls until it vanishes. It was a negative upgrade on my part and it became very boring listening to agonizing screams, but now, someone gave me a reason to make my life worth living again.
I transformed into my human form, and of course with a modern style, and it felt refreshing. Masumi looked at me in amusement. “Go get him, Itaru.” I smirked and gave a playful salute “I’ll be quick.” Wearing a white knitted sweater with a black turtleneck inside, some black pants, and my favorite derby black shoes, I walked in the restaurant.
I picked a table that was not so far away from the couple and I unleashed a hypnotizing spell on both of them to make them think me and Chikage were “co-workers.” I approached and waved at them and they smiled at me, I held Orpheus- I mean Chikage’s right shoulder “Chikage-san, my favorite senpai! Nice meeting you again outside of work. Is this your date?” I asked and turned to Izumi but Chikage only smiled “Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you earlier. The boss wanted me to tell you some details of the upcoming project and since you had another agenda, I suppose you haven’t read my message yet. It’s really urgent.”
“Sure, let’s go outside for a bit. I don’t want my date to be included in a work conversation.” Talk about being considerate. Chikage replied and smiled at Izumi “Do you mind if I go talk with my friend for a moment? You can start eating once the food arrives, just leave some for me.” Izumi nodded and Chikage kissed her forehead. Ouch. Chikage pulls me to the closest convenience store and before I open the door he drags me beside the building. “So can you tell me the details, my fellow co-worker?” Chikage asks with his arms crossed and leaning against the wall. My hands hid in my pockets and I chortled. “The boss actually sent me here to imprison your soul.”
“Are you seriously playing games with me?”
“Haven’t played one in a long time… hm so maybe.” I playfully walked around him and I heard him grunt in annoyance “I know it’s you, Eury. Your spells won’t work on me.” I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at him, but before he saw my sad look I smiled at him playfully “Who’s Eury? Yuuri? Another date of yours? Oh dear, cheating shouldn’t be tolerated. Very harmful for the heart.”
Chikage held my shoulders and felt my back with a thousand lightning bolts after coming in contact with a hard concrete wall. “Stop this nonsense, Eurydice. Tell me why you’re showing up now after so many centuries.” I laughed then arched my brow with an arrogant look “And here I thought I had you under my spell. How did you even remember your past lover while I almost forgot yours? The man you loved oh so unconditionally centuries ago?” Chikage lets go and I stretch my shoulders from being put up straight. I heard a click and smoke came out of Chikage’s mouth with a white stick at the side of his lips. “I was in an assassin agency before, people who kill for other people. My friend, August, had introduced me to someone named Ovidius when I needed to disguise as someone performing witchcraft and cult rituals. He was unexpectedly the real deal and showed me how to create a drink to remember every life I had even as to reach centuries ago, and it worked. That’s when I remembered you, your looks, your voice, your mannerisms, your speech, everything. My heart aches when I see a glimpse of your face at the back of my mind. My soul yearned for your entire presence to be beside me, embracing me. I kept waiting every single day for your return.” I took a step towards him but he stopped me with his hand, he continued “But that was years ago, Eury. I lost hope when I attempted to look for you down below. The God of the Underworld must’ve noticed my presence and prevented us from meeting. Now, I moved on and I don’t feel anything towards you anymore.” Tears started to form and I turned away, letting my hand against the wall hold my balance. I could hear my heart shatter and this man has caused it once again.
Laughter left out of my lips and wiped the tears “Oh dear, what happened to the man who gave his hand-in-marriage before I was struck with poison?”
“Gone. Long gone. Not only did I pay tribute through music for you, I had men and women lined up to be my lover but back then I refused. Times have already changed, Eurydice. I have Izumi by my side now. Such bad timing that you showed up when I finally got over you.”
“Then why did you give up? You’re the one who turned back. I had faith in you and you should’ve done the same. You promised the God of the Underworld that you will never doubt and yet you did!”
“I heard your cry and I was coming to help you!”
“Even so, Orpheus! I could still stand. You knew that no matter what, I’d do everything to fight for us. Do you think you’re the only one who felt emotionally tortured? Your love imprisoned me while I gave mine freely, then telling me you were living the best of your lives with other people.” Tears poured out and I felt strong and warm arms envelop me as I sobbed and tried to push him away. Chikage kissed me on the head and gently rubbed my back. “The God of Underworld had hurt us both, Eury.”
“The pain took centuries for you while mine took a decade. My heart never forgot you.” I sobbed “Someone blocked your hearing when I kept reassuring you, not until I tripped from the path. I told you to wait for me and you gave up.” Silence. “In my mind, I promised that I’ll be here with you until spring comes. It looks like spring came today and I’m afraid this is how we’ll end.” I pulled back and his brows furrowed “What do you mean?”
Wiping the remaining tears on my cheeks and taking a deep breath, I looked at him in the eyes with contemplation “I was supposed to ask my master to not imprison you but I guess you truly deserve this. I’m retrieving the heart that I once gave to you before I fell back into the Underworld. Farewell, my dear Orpheus.” My hand placed on his chest starts to release shadows and envelops Chikage who’s now in fear and panic, turning him into a green cartridge and putting it into my pocket.

It’s already five o’clock in the afternoon when Izumi notices Chikage hasn’t come back. Izumi anxiously looks outside the restaurant and other places “Where did you go, Chikage-san? Your food’s already cold.”
“Director.” Izumi jumped at the voice behind her and saw it was Masumi “Oh, it’s you. How did you know I’m here?” she asked while still looking for Chikage, the boy notices “Are you looking for Chikage-san?” Izumi turned to him with a desperate look and nodded “Have you seen him? He said he'll be back after talking to his friend from work.”
“He told me there was an emergency and he’d be away for a while but didn’t specifically say when he’d be back.” Masumi replied and sat in front of her. Izumi felt sad that her curry partner ditched their friendly date to notice Masumi, the boy cleared his throat and the girl looked at him “It looks like the food hasn’t been touched, Director. I’ll join you if you can’t finish it. Let’s have a date instead.” A soft smile was only given to Masumi before she digs into the meal. Meanwhile, Itaru transformed back into his daemon form. He pats his pocket where the cartridge of Chikage’s soul is stored and stamped the contract as closed.
“Another successful imprisonment deal. Thank you for summoning me, Master Usui.”
All I've Ever Known
A3! Fanfic ✦ 10/26/2020 (Reposted from my old X account) Revised: 04/29/2025 | Word count: 899
Two students who are constantly butting heads suddenly get serious with each other. One reluctantly gives the other a gift with an out-of-character motive while the other thinks of him as weird.
“Oi Hyodo.” Banri called once Juza came home from school. “Huh? What do you want?” Juza snarled with his forehead automatically folded. His group had finished a calligraphy project so he had to stay longer at school. Banri stood up from the sofa and handed Juza a box, “What the hell is this?” Juza asked “Shut up and open this once you get to the room. I’ll be at Itaru’s.” Banri said and walked away, leaving Juza confused while holding the box.
Once Juza closed the door he lifted the cover, he was even more confused when he saw a foil-shaped-like dolphin and beside it was an orange heart-shaped paper. He picked up the dolphin and ripped the foil - what he found was a dolphin made of chocolate. If someone could see his face animated, he would have sparkles in his eyes when he saw one of his favorite desserts. While munching the chocolate, he picked up the letter and caught a glimpse of some of the words which made him then choke.
“Hyodo, I know this is the dumbest and corniest shit I’ll put out and if you let anyone know about this, I’ll kick your ass. When I heard from my former classmates that you defeated some leader of a gang, I immediately thought of creating a challenge against you. You sent a warshock through me when you punched me the first time. I didn’t know you were that fucking strong. Color me impressed but I still hate your guts. A lot of people were aware of how I’m great at everything at first try and that’s all I’ve ever known, until you appeared. Life was boring, might as well say I had the ‘super ultra easy mode’ kinda life, but after meeting you, punching each other's guts and faces until we got tired, some of my views changed and it probably will change the longer we bicker in this company. This ain’t me being sweet, you bastard. I still haven’t won against you and you better not back out. Have fun chomping down that chocolate. - Settsu”
As Juza continued coughing, Banri walked in “Hyodo, did you open the box- Oi what happened to you?!” He patted Juza’s back and left the room to get a glass of water but when he got back, Juza calmed down but was still out of breath. Juza tries to avoid Banri’s eyes as he sits down beside him and gives him the water. There was a long period of silence and nothing could be heard from outside since the other members were out, however Juza’s mind is the opposite. He kept questioning what was the occasion that Banri decided to randomly give him a box of chocolate and a long letter. Juza brushed his hair back with his hand in frustration and Banri was just looking at him, feeling annoyed by how Juza acts.
“The hell’s wrong with you? Never received a gift before or somethin’?”
“Did you confess to me or something?” A jab was thrown to his mouth before Banri could think. Juza wiped the blood on the corner of his lips and sniggered a laugh. “Even while being sweet you still get to be rough, Settsu.”
“I’m gonna assume that you understood the letter. I knew you were alone for a long time because of that intimidating dumb face of yours.” Juza’s eyebrow joins together after hearing what Banri said, he continued “I didn’t even know you were lonely at the time. In my perspective, you’re the jerk who brawls with any guy who comes at you and ever since Sakyo-san cuffed us together, we’ve been constantly cat and dog. Well, more like two dogs with different breeds. That shit hurts though.”
“It’s because you-”
“Let me finish, you dumb brick. Really wanted to let these thoughts out.” Banri cuts and Juza shuts up then nods to him to go on “Even though I despise your guts and I kept fighting the urge to punch you every single day, we’re actually the only ones who can support each other when the others can’t. Since you’ve always given me a challenge that I barely pass, it became harder to ignore you. That doesn’t mean I’m confessin’ that I’ll lose to you now. Over my dead body, Hyodo.” Banri smiled arrogantly with his right eyebrow arched to provoke him but Juza didn’t comply and sighed. Banri pulled Juza’s collar and looked at him in his eyes “Remember this Hyodo, there will be times that I’ll be willing to help and that doesn’t limit to others as well. Don't wander off on your own and put up a fight. Even if you don’t want to, somebody’s gotta defend your ass.” He let go of his collar and walked to the door “If you’re gonna cry, I’m gonna leave. I don’t do comfort, just reality checks.”
Before Banri could close the door, he took one last glance at Juza whose eyes were forming tears. “By the way, I made a great effort putting together that chocolate with the help of your cousin since your brother hates me. Guess liking a person changes one. Go sob your eyes out or somethin’. Come out if you’re already dry.” The door clicks and Juza finally gives in to his tears while biting his lip which was slowly curling into a smile. “Settsu, you douchebag.”
Too Late
The shadows crawl within the visions in my mind, Molding face after face, everything's fine. Therapeutic, euphoric colors flowing at my sides, I need help I can't breathe I'm becoming blind.
I've grown tired of all the overlapping screams and whispers. I see waves in front of me like a bass playing among the embers. Stopping these thoughts, getting sick of this curse. Starting to entertain myself before this gets worse.
Say to I "Smile through the pain." Nay, I think, there's nothing I would gain. There's so many opportunities that can't wait to be taken. Yet here I am, drowning in the abyss, making my life end.
Am I silent or am I being silenced? The energy has already been drained then I go insane. I'm sane I'm sane I'm sane, why am I still being caged? I've grown old, I've grown matured, am I already late?

Your Bite, I Yearn
I wish you could bite me. As your eyes are colored like the red sea, With your hands present me with a tender caress, With your words drowned in honey as I listen to your voice.
I remember those sharp teeth over the flesh of a virgin. Those were the same set of teeth that showed me a smile where my heart melted in. If I ask, are you a thief in the night? Because I know that when I see you, you would run with my heart and my morality will not be right.
I'm so drawn to you, yet I couldn't see your face. I know I'm not a mirror, but I know my mind would race. My thoughts run wild as you play your games And those games that I witness would make me turn insane.
I hate that you're such a Casanova. I was already aware that your actions will make me feel antisocial. The way you sang – it's like the angels fell down to greet me. Yet it's not just me who greeted back as everyone could see.
Within your heart, they say you're a wonderful person. Person? Creature? It doesn't matter. All I know is that your intentions is what I'm always after. If I stay and watch from afar, would you give me another reason? A reason to love you, cherish you, and care for you. Are we in that season? Just a kiss, if not bite, that's all I ask of you.
