I’m staying neutral about Zion calling CPS cause I get where he was coming from but it’s insane to me that his first reaction to hearing Georgia was abused was to say “she kept Ginny in a house with an abuser” like bro?? you think she knew Gil would be abusive when she started dating him? you think she didn’t get out of there as fast as possible? you think Gil would’ve just let her leave? that’s not how abuse works, abusers don’t just let you leave without putting up a fight or killing you

also when Ginny rightfully called him out for being absent and telling him that he made it worse by separating her, Georgia and Austin and that she needs her mom same as she needs him and his reaction being going over to Georgia’s to tell her he should’ve petitioned for custody sooner? did you not listen to anything Ginny just told you?

It makes sense to me why Abby doesn’t like that Max shows so much emotions. She spends so much of her time, suppressing her emotions. Doing harmful acts in order to do so, sleeping with people she shouldn’t, drinking, her bulimia. Max shows up as herself even if she may be a bit too much. She still shows how she feels. It makes sense that her brother and Abby got closer. Because they’re both doing things to suppress any pain that they feel. They literally share alcohol together because that’s the only thing that “helps” them. They literally enable each other’s behavior. It’s unfortunate that both of those people are who Max has conflict with. But it makes so much sense. To them, Max is “a lot” because she can do what they can’t. When someone is 100% authentically themselves, people who suppress seem to hate it. Why? It’s very obvious; because they can do what those people can’t. Show up as 100% of themselves. They let their emotions show. Despite backlash from others. I really hope Marcus and Abby get the help that they need.

i went into ginny and georgia season 3 like “oh this is that one guilty pleasure kinda cringey show ive liked for a few years now” but omg the writing this season was so good !!!! it was a masterpiece imo. i did not expect all that to happen—plus the acting!!! it was so well done i’m actually weirdly proud of it. dumping some thoughts here

S3 SPOILERS:

i used to really like paul but he disappointed me baddd. i’m not saying his situation was completely easy but he totally abandoned them (including ginny and austin) and i lost all respect when he hit the wall beside georgia—and i GET that georgia faking a pregnancy was wrong, too, but he got violent and that’s never okay imo.

i am SO happy that ginny confronted zion about being absent, too, because everyone keeps saying that zion is such a great father and while he’s not horrible, he has definitely lived his life while georgia had to give hers up. yes it was her choice but he could’ve fought harder, too. so im not saying i hate him or he’s totally bad but i like that there was accountability for that this season.

poor austin oh MY GOD he framed his own father for a murder he saw his mother commit that’s insaneee. he’s never ever going to be okay after this because even if his dad was an asshole, it was still his dad and he was good to austin so it’s bound to be scarring. like austin chose georgia over gil because like ginny said it came down to either his mom going to prison or his dad and that’s not a choice a kid should ever have to make

also see the way georgia has never once bad mouthed gil to austin even tho he abused her bc she wanted him to have a good image of his dad but gil started talking shit about georgia to austin the second he could says a lot

that scene where the CPS people (?) took ginny and austin from georgia’s house was so so sad

really enjoyed ginny and abby’s friendship this season

and omg max :(( i felt so incredibly bad for her. putting aside all the drama with her friends, the way she looked after marcus this season was so precious. she knew that if she told her parents, he wouldn’t talk to her, but she cared about him and did the right thing ultimately—i’m sure someday marcus will realise that she was really there for him and she possibly saved his life by pushing him to get the help he needs.

coming to her friends, they were genuinely mean to her a lot. max was unfair in the previous season but she clearly learnt from it and grew as a person and she kept thinking that she was the problem for a while but they did genuinely leave her out quite a lot and that never ever feels good.

the way when ginny got pregnant all she needed was her mom :((

Oh! @meret118 see above comment! The use of the word "enjoyers" instead of "users" or "bloggers" -> You left a comment a while back asking, "Does this just mean vocabulary words? Other than blorbo and sweet cinnamon roll etc, I can't think of what a Tumblr accent would be." I almost never see anyone use the word "enjoyer" anywhere outside of tumblr, but I see it on tumblr fairly frequently.

Another one is the verb "perceive" i.e. "don't perceive me" "I am perceiving" "I am being percieved." That's something that feels very specific to tumblr parlance.

There's the thing where people on tumblr have an emotional reaction to something and instead of, or in addition to telling you how they feel about it using emotion words, they will narrate a fictional action in the present progressive tense. "I am gnawing at the bars of my enclosure "I am kissing you on the mouth" "you are going into the soup" "you are getting all of the awards"

I once saw someone use that response format in ... I think it was a restaurant review, or a doordash review, or something like that. It was very unexpected seeing it outside of a tumblr post.

There are a lot of other tumblr linguistic quirks I can't currently remember off the top of my head, but I'll instantly recognize them if I see/hear them outside of tumblr. It's always a bit startling to see them out of context.

The fact that you can be playing a mobile game and you will be stopped in the middle of the action to be shown an ad, you have to wait 5 seconds before a tiny skip button appears in the top left, which after it’s skipped, you’re then taken to the App Store, which you have to press the “Done” button, after which they take you to a small playable advert for the same game, which you have to wait another 10 seconds before an incredibly tiny button appears in the top left to skip, and then after that they take you to an advertisement splash screen that just says the app’s name and a button to go to the app store and download it, which you then have to wait five seconds before a tiny button appears in the top- I’m sorry how the fuck is this not illegal?
