Adonis, tr. by Khaled Mattawa, Selected Poems
if you woke up late, your morning didn't go well, something unexpected happened at the beginning of the day and you are now sad and worried your day will be wasted, don’t worry. take a deep breath and start with where you left off. you can always start at any point of the day. you can start getting your life together at 5PM in case you were too tired and sleeping all day long. please don't give a bad 20 minutes or so of an incident the power to dictate the rest of the day. you dictate the energy you want. start wherever you want. rest when you need to. you got this ♡

I can't stress enough the importance of ensuring that you are keeping yourself in alignment with the vision you have for your life. It is imperative that you stop yourself whenever you become aware that you're falling into patterns of behavior, habits, and actions that are counterproductive towards the person you're working on becoming.
Whenever you notice that you are about to engage in something detrimental take a second, breath, and refocus your mind and attention towards things that nurture your mind and soul, that inspire you, that make you feel excited for the things that are manifesting into your life. Being in alignment is what will allow the universe to shape itself in your favor.
Arundhati Roy, The End of Iamgination
Sylvia Plath, from The Unabridged Journals
“It is late now, I am a bit tired; the sky is irritated by stars. And I love you, I love you, I love you–and perhaps this is how the whole enormous world, shining all over, can be created–out of five vowels and three consonants.”
— Vladimir Nabokov, in a letter to Véra Nabokov, Letters to Véra, ed. and transl. Olga Voronina and Brian Boyd (Alfred A. Knopf, 2014)
