On This day in 2009: Michael Jackson completed rehearsals for his upcoming comeback tour “This Is It”, Jackson rehearsed late into the night, practicing tracks including “Thriller” & “Earth Song”, Earth Song would unfortunately be his final song ever performed.

and so another year passes. i hadn’t really listened to michael jackson in the last few years until the biopic, but i used to be the biggest fan. HIStory was one of the first albums i ever listened to in full as a child, which i can only attribute to my parents owning the original pressing. today, i’ll be sure to smile, though my heart is breaking.

rest in peace, michael. your body may have left this earth, but your soul and name will live on forever.
