Life on Mars playlist - twenty songs for when you feel like falling into an endless void
ECLIPSE | BY SOPHIE MCNAUGHTON
Iâve always believed that the Moon
is in love with the Sun. Subscribing
to the theory that he tried to glide
through the glistening sky to reach
her; but celestial magnets pulled him
to orbit another. Every night he appears;
hoping sheâll meet him at their meeting place.
He is the messenger of her light, casting
it upon the Earth while she rests after dusk.
He would be merely a sphere of melancholy,
empty darkness without her. He spins and
circles the Earth day after day, searching
for just a glimpse of the blazing fire,
that will thaw the milky ice of his surface.
But every day, she manages to sneak
away, slipping from his grasp again, and
she vanishes behind her baby blue planet.
Except today.
Today he is the subject of her light.
The glittering constellations align
and their paths are made parallel.
The rays of heat are cast in great waves
towards him with only a crisp outline,
a glowing silhouette of yellow, escaping
his fixated gaze. She always plays hide
and seek but today their stars uncross and they
are allowed to be together for one night.
He basks in his Sun just for a moment
before she smile and leaves him again.
He suffers in ice so she can
live in warmth.
She has galaxies inside her head,
while he has merely one star.
Heâll wait years for his next chance
but he wouldnât have it any other way.

Hereâs to the Music That Saves Our Soul
40 years ago today, a magical joining of two musical forces happened. Buckingham Nicks, aka Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham put pen to paper and signed a contract that would make them the two newest members of Fleetwood Mac. From that day forward, The Mac lineup consisted of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie NicksâŚapart from Chrisâ 16-year break from the band, of course. But never fear our songbird is back now. Phew.
A Celestial Girlâs Guide to Having a Good 2015.
I am already shuddering just thinking about all of the ânew year, new me!â statuses Iâm going to be seeing over the next few days. Making positive changes to ourselves and our lives shouldnât be something we only think about doing once a year. I know it helps a lot of people to have set goals in front of them, but the statistics when it comes to keeping our resolutions are stacked against us. But for some reason most of us insist on creating them anywayâŚ
So here's your antidote to all of the resolutions that you'll see your friends making that you know they won't keep. Here at Celestial we have created a list of simple and positive changes you can make to your life, none of which are going to make you miserable (unlike doing a juice cleanse.)

Ladies in Music: The Best of 2014 Releases
2014 had its ups and downs, but one things for certain, it was a big year for women in music! From everything to hip hop to psych-rock, there were ladies rocking in every genre. Here are just some of the magic that was released by talented, bad ass babes. Be sure to check them out before 2015!
Winona Forever
The name Winona Ryder is synonymous with teen angst. Her teen angst bullshit even has a body count. But I think the true genius of Winona goes beyond that. It's not hard to forge a comparison between Winona Ryder and James Dean. They're both symbols of the misunderstood youth. Both even have a propensity for leather jackets (or maybe Winona's is just for guys who wear leather jackets).

The History Girls: Mary Shelley
Welcome to the first of what will be a continuing series celebrating important women throughout history, from everyoneâs favourites to the ones who'll soon become your favourites.
I hadnât heard of Mary Shelley until a year ago. I didnât study Frankenstein while at school and the idea of the story didnât particularly appeal to me so I didnât read it for pleasure either. It wasnât until it was set as a text for my first year studying English at university that I bought a copy. I put off reading it for as long as possible because I am a pro procrastinator like that, but when I finally picked it up with the intention of reading it, I found myself not skipping the introduction. I nearly always skip introductions, life is too short to read all of the books you want to, let alone read the introductions to those books. But for some reason (probably because I was further putting off actually reading the novel) I read all of the notes and the introduction in my copy and Iâm so glad I did.
Regardless of whether or not you have read Frankenstein, you too need this woman in your life. Prepared to get excited about and heartbroken for, Mary Shelley.
