I love tumblr because somehow I can end up being mutuals with a celebrity (someone that wrote a fic that I loved)
do not let the whole avid and marm situation wreck havoc on the queer mcyt community. Them being manipulative has nothing to do with their queerness, and their queerness did not impact their behavior or the results from this behavior.
Their behavior is not a reflection of queer creators or queer people in general.
support queer streamers and support victims.
*bangs fists on table* Where’s all the yuri? *kicks over table* WHERE’S ALL THE YURI? *throws chair out window* WHERE’S ALL THE YURI?!?!
you can't say "hey has anyone noticed that M/M fic outnumbers F/F like 100:1” or “it feels racist that only 3/202 characters on the ao3 top 100 ships list are Black and two of them are Alastor HazbinHotel” bc some ppl will start going like “oh so you think we should FORCE people to write about things they DON’T CARE ABOUT for WOKE????” and you’ll be like “no, i’m pointing out that the conditions that created this disparity are informed by racism & misogyny” and ppl will say “it’s not BIGOTED to only care about WHITE MEN” and then the gargoyle king appears

Now I'm sure that none of us are holding out hope for a *worthy* hypothetical television adaptation of the locked tomb series, but if it DID happen to come about my roommate and I believe we have cracked the code:
First of all, totally animated. We don't trust live action. Second, the style changes depending on the main character...
Season 1: total Arcane vibes. Everything is badass and grounded, JUST like Gideon would tell it. Things get a little weird when the season finale begins switching to Harrow's pov and-
Season 2: full traditional animation, hand-drawn, knights of Guinevere style. It dips disconcertingly into nostalgia as Harrow navigates the Mithraeum, and by the finale (and subsequent total breakdown of Harrow's mind) the animation gets JUST as bizarre and trippy as only traditional animation can get.
Season 3: Muppets. Alecto is the human
unethical nonmonogamy where god is the third
This is the plot of Harrow the Ninth
i need everyone to get 300% more insane about mercymorn right the fuck now. this is a lady who spent ten thousand years learning everything there is to the human body to the point where she could just modify a person blind. just reach in and and tie harrow’s lil noodle spine into a knot, bypassing her lyctoral shielding. seduced her best friend, worst enemy, and sworn god to steal his sperm (it’s also apparently implied she just. summoned it out of his balls instead of collecting it the normal way) to help a terrorist make a baby from it.
she slaps augustine across the mouth and he spits out his teeth, despite the fact that he is a ten thousand year old lyctor who should have had ironclad shielding. out of all the necros that swore themselves to god, she was one of the remaining ones, one of the last lyctors to survive the resurrection beasts.
she vaporized god. she vaporized god. she unwound the most powerful necromancer she knew on the fly and reduced him to his base components because she just. had the knowledge in her brain. mercymorn turned a man running on the souls of ten billion into fine red mist on a fucking impulse.
she spends all of htn trying to kill harrow out of some bizarre attempt to live up to her name. she’s kind about it, even. she draws weird little squiggles that look like everything but monsters. she fantasizes about putting her idiot boss in acid jail. she worries about her dress making her look like a melon even though she literally seduces god and also a guy who hates her.
and nobody really likes her. g1deon is g1deon, by which i mean he is being tortured and weird about everything on account of being two people and thus has little to no opinion on what she does. augustine fucking hates her unless they’re working together to honey trap god (no i will not stop mentioning this) and it wasn’t even her fault that alfred died, not really. ianthe follows augustine around like an evil little duckling - does she even have strong opinions on mercy except that it’s gross she’s having a three way with jod and augustine? she was supposed to mentor harrow, but she got the defective one - the one that didn’t even make to lyctorhood properly (does she wish she could’ve done what harrow did? sealed cristabel away forever, even if she had to butcher herself to do it?). and jod. jod loves her, of course, but he’s just so. so. he doesn’t fucking listen is the thing. he deflects and he jokes and he doesn’t say “mercy, i didn’t meant to, mercy, i’ll fix it, mercy, please, forgive me.” he says everything but that.
god fuck what is wrong with me. what is wrong with you guys. be more insane about mercy she deserves it.
Harrow The Ninth is primarily an exploration of the question “What if you were coworkers Forever”
Nona the Ninth says important things like "even in the cruelest most broken world love can still matter" and "righteous fury is still fury and can be so destructive" and "mass suicide cancelled I forgot there was a dog"
Harrow, Gideon and Ianthe: wow this sucks I wonder what the others are doing
Least crazy Camilla Hect sideplot:
Pyrrha: had to break up two fights at work today, it was crazy
Camilla's normal Tuesday:

TGIF!!! this morning’s out of context locked tomb spoilers will truly mystify the unknowing viewer
Harrow and Palamedes entirely one sided bitter rivalry is actually one of my favourite parts of this book. She goes the entire time stressing about not falling behind him or showing a hint of weakness that he can pounce on because he’s her most concerning competition. She’s terrified of slipping up around him because obviously he’s judging her entire house as inferior and beneath him and she can’t even contend with him, she’s so far behind and he must be gloating so hard.
Then for a decent portion of the book every time someone dies she thinks he killed them.
Every time he talks to her she’s so paranoid about him trying to manipulate her into giving something away or otherwise screw her over, she never accepts that he’d want to work together for anything other than sinister reasons.
Meanwhile Palamedes is casually telling anyone who will listen that he thinks she’s an incredibly cool genius who is objectively terrifying because she’s so amazing at everything she does but also he’d trust her with her life because she’s honourable like that.
And he’d really like to be her friend but it’s no problem if she doesn’t want to call it that and would prefer to hiss at him from the corner like an angry cat. They’ll get past this stage eventually and then he can be nerd friends with the cool and definitely traumatised autistic girl.
conservation is worship to me. in a sense.
I'm not religious but I'm a very emotional scientist and I've been thinking about this a LOT lately. I love the earth enough to be its steward. and I have the necessary tools for the task. a complex brain. dexterous hands. legs made to walk long and far. millions and millions of years of Chance and Opportunity shaped me into something that can give back to the planet that has been a life-sustaining home for every person who ever lived. it's enough to make me teary eyed sometimes
"humans are pests that should be exterminated" I don't think that's true. the ecological niche of humans has shifted from persistence predation to stewardship of entire ecosystems. we've done a lot of wrong. but we have incredible potential to do so, so, so much good.
this post speaks very broadly! I know a lot of us have brains that find some tasks very difficult and hands that struggle and legs that hurt. you're a wonderful person if that's you. I'm more than happy to do enough for us both. we're stewards, but we're also a cooperative species with an incredible capacity for kindness. rest well for me. [:
