𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙶𝙾𝙳 𝙾𝙵 𝙾𝚁𝙳𝙴𝚁 & 𝙹𝚄𝚂𝙸𝙲𝙴 , 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙶𝙾𝙳 𝙾𝙵 𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙾𝚂 & 𝙷𝙾𝙿𝙴

part one . 

or , the astral realm before the exile of chaos , before the barian world . 

as noted , the astral world & barian world were once a single world where order & chaos both existed . the land was rich & vibrant , the people eager to change & grow & learn . to better themselves & better their world . & this world was ruled over by two gods . a god of order & justice — the universe called this god eliphas . a god of chaos & hope — the universe called this god alkaphrah . each god had what he believed to be the best interest of the astral world at heart , claiming that his path was the right one . each god claimed to be the will of the astral world , for it was from the universe & world’s will that he had been born . & for a time , that worked out fine . 

eliphas guided the astrals to find security in what they already knew , to treat each other with respect , to settle disagreements civilly . to not lash out at other astrals & to temper raging emotion with reason . alkaphrah guided the astrals to be open-minded , to seek not only to settle , but to understand . to have no fear of the unknown . to love each other & embrace emotion . & the people lived this way for thousands of years . 

but , it was the nature of the two gods to have their disagreements . inevitably , they would clash against each other . alkaphrah’s ideals became radical , he began to show interest in the numeron code , the design of gods even higher than he & eliphas . instead of keeping his distance from the other astrals & acting only as a divine guide , he fell in love with a beautiful woman , ena . & then , he passed his ‘ chaos ’ to the people . the astral world began to shift . there were those who supported alkaphrah , believing in the god who felt most divine when he was surrounded by other astrals , laughing with them , being treated as a friend instead of something to fear . & there were those who supported eliphas , feeling safe in the knowledge that despite his distance , this all-powerful being was there to protect them . 

the conflict between the two gods escalated rapidly , perhaps moreso than anyone had anticipated . & in the end , eliphas , god of order & justice , exiled alkaphrah & many of his followers . to protect those who were exiled with him , alkaphrah used much of his divine power to create a new world , barian , so that they could survive . 

to the astrals who remained in the astral world , eliphas claimed that chaos had killed those who had been exiled . that chaos had even killed alkaphrah . & he asked the people to cast out chaos so that they would not suffer the same fates . & many of them did . but not all .

this shining world as it was meant to be . 

he’d been nervous at first — guilt of all that he’d done weighed heavy upon his shoulders ( his rage had been at but one person , & everyone suffered for it — she , she had suffered ) — it was her , their world that had taken horrid blows . in the void , he’d wondered if she could still love him .  𝐀𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 , 𝐒𝐇𝐄'𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 . 

here , then , they stand among blooming flowers . in the world he had created just for two ( a hidden retreat when the outside world grew to be too much ) . just as he’d promised so long ago — & she loves him still ! she takes his hand , looks at him with all the love in the world , & he feels that surge of HOPE . or , perhaps it is not simply hope , but the knowledge that happiness was still there . so they dance , they laugh , they whisper words of love . 

                this time , he will never leave her side again .

“ Love? I…yes…this must be…I…I feel love, for you, Alkaphrah! ”

If this truly was the power of chaos, then…why was it to be feared? This wasn’t something to be feared, something to shun like Eliphas wants to…this was a beautiful feeling, one that nearly moved Ena to tears! When he embraced her, her breath was momentarily taken away, and again her heart skipped a beat. There was safety and comfort in his arms, and she found that she did not wish to leave them  — rather, she could spend an eternity here just like this! 

“ Alkaphrah…teach me! I want to know more of this feeling, I want to love you and stay by your side for all eternity! This is no evil feeling, rather, it feels as if I’ve transcended into a paradise I did not know I yearned for until this very moment! This warmth I feel consumes me, and I wish to revel in it, but only with you, for I too adore you! I know it to be true! ” Tears filled her eyes, her face looking up into his, and she reached her hand up to stroke her fingertips along his cheek.

she speaks of yearning for an 𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 for them , just the two of them ( away from the world , away from prying eyes ) — & how he yearns to make such a place ! it would be filled with flowers , with color , with everything that was meant to be . there would be hope eternal , they would never fear the ever-vigilant watch of eliphas . they would never worry about parting . but , seeing the joy in her , perhaps if the rest of their world knew , then chaos would be feared no longer — ❛ then , i will make a paradise for us , a place where we can live & love — ❜ 

❛ but , should we not show the rest of our world the truth ? & perhaps should they no longer fear , eliphas will see the error of his ways as well — oh , ena , imagine the way this world would shine with hope & an infinite future ! we cannot deny the people this . for chaos is a power that nurtures hope ! one that is born of a desire to love , to protect the ones we love — ❜

oh ! he is certain that her heart must flutter like a bird ! his does , too . for they are here — they , as it should be . in this sacred place far from the prying eyes of the other god . after all , eliphas would never understand . 

she speaks of feeling , of change & not knowing & a swirling chaos . she says they shouldn’t , & he thinks that she is the most radiant woman in the realm . i cannot stop it , she speaks , & he leans closer , his body humming — ❛ then , stay by my side , ena . you have no need to fear this feeling . this warmth , this is chaos . this is love ! ❜  

❛ eliphas thinks that chaos is a wicked thing , but he is wrong . chaos is the power to protect the ones we love . it is life , it is hope — ❜ he dares then to gather her in his arms , & perhaps now more than ever he knows what he wants . for the gods were meant to love , to adore ! the gods were meant to have chaos . what he wanted more than anything was this — the feeling of her in his arms . in this moment , they are so much more than two lights , more than two halves , rather they are two wholes meant to be together . of this , he is certain .
