My biggest hope is that when Dinner With The Devil is adapted its just an entire beat for beat episode adaptation of the stream. No B plots. No backstory. Just a straight 45 minutes of The Nein being the pettiest, button pressing, backhanded complimenting, irritating, rude dinner guests towards Trent and Co.

”why do you like Kanan so much?” Uhh because he’s one of the best demonstration of how someone can be religious while still having religious trauma. Because of how he’s clearly overcoming addiction while not making it obvious to the kids he’s raising. Because he’s trying his damn best to follow the rules of the Jedi, while still balancing a healthy relationship with Hera. Because he never ever disrespects women not once. Because of his trauma that clearly still affects him day to day and is so beautifully written in a KIDS SHOW?? Because he’s a wonderfully written disabled character. Because he’s trying his damn best to train Ezra.

I love Kanan so much and I will preach to anyone who will listen that if they like Kanan they should read A New Dawn. It adds so much depth to his character, and I especially love how it reminds you just how young he and Hera are in Rebels. I'm also a sucker for the whole "Jedi can't help but help people" theme, and I love how the book makes it super clear that Kanan continues to embody the selflessness of the Jedi (even to his own detriment) while still being overly confident that the Jedi way of life is dead
