And they were right back on track. Lily beamed, taking Marlene’s hand. “I absolutely do not want to live in a big city. It’d be so noisy and busy all the time! What if we looked on the outskirts of London? That way we’d be close to the city but not in it. And James’s family lives there and having that safety net would be nice.”

    The blonde gave the other a squeeze and a smile as she quickly nodded her head. “ I know they live there.” she took a moment to think about it though, before shrugging her shoulders. “ Sure! We could search into a muggle prophet any posts about apartment there, right?”

Lily pursed her lips. She wanted to live in a muggle neighborhood, though. “Hey…Marls?” How did she phrase this without sounding annoying. “It’s just…if I ever want my sister or parents to visit us…” She looked down. Sure, her parents would visit her if she lived in a magical town, but they’d feel so out of place. And her sister would take bribing to even talk to her.

   Marlene mentally punched herself for not thinking about ehr best friend’s family - she had not problem with that. “ My parents wouldn’t visit anyway, so sure! We could rent an apartment somewhere in the muggle world. Somewhere quiet though? The muggle center of the city always confuses me.”

Her face went bright red, beyond pleased Marlene was all in. “Perfect! Now we just have to find the right one!” 

And just like that, her mind was on the next thing. “We want a flat in a nice neighborhood, but within walking distance to the places we want to be at. Obviously accepts pets.” Lily hesitated. “A magical community?”

  “ Hm, what about the Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade?” the blonde suggested as she let her eyes travel around the ceiling. “ I reckon there must be an apartment for sale and..we make less than a minute into muggle world and all that....” she said, tapping a finger on her knee as she thought about it.

Lily smirked, knowing how the word “trouble” was practically Marlene’s middle name. That and giggles. “Well, we could do anything, especially if we’re living together?” She propped her head up on her hands. “Do you wanna be flatmates this summer? I don’t want to deal with Tuney and I’m an adult now, so…” She shrugged. “Besides, it’d be like sleepovers all the time!”

  “ Do continue.” The blonde pushed her best friend on continuing as her eyes flickered with excitment. “That’s maybe the most genius idea you have ever had, Lily! And we both know how many amazing ideas you’ve had through years.”

 The idea sounds amazing to her, so she nodded excitedly. “I’m in. I also believe I saw some flats for sale in the Daily Prophet this morning.”

Double Trouble

It was late February and almost a month had passed since Lily became an official adult in the wizarding world. The more she thought about it, the more scary and exciting it became…and the more she realized she’d be able to do magic outside of school. Which got her thinking about Petunia. Despite their fights and what she said sometimes, she really did love her sister. But if she did magic around the house, Tuney would get upset. So, after a month of arguing with herself, she decided she would be moving into a flat for the summer. Now all she needed was a flatmate.

Lily sat herself next to Marlene on the sofa in the common room, grinning mischievously. “Wanna cause some trouble with me this summer?”

  Marlene hasn’t done much this past month, she - of course - has been worrying about her little brother, but besides it...nothing intersting. Of course, school never was intersting into her opinion. Legs prompted on the Gryffindor table from the common room, head rested on the seat. Head turned around to face her best friend.

   “ That sounds fun.” The blonde inquired, moving her head in order to show Lily she is intersting and she wants to hear the rest. “ What we’ll be doing? Besides charming boys here and there.”

So.

Some idiot (*cough, cough* Me) decided it would be good to take a Maymester class, and I am currently drowning in a daily four hour class with 50+ pages of reading every night. I’ll be back in the end of May, though you may get the occasional response when I begin to go crazy from the amount of work.

In June, the idiot decided to take two internet classes instead, so I will be on, probably spamming you with pictures of my new puppy.

She supposed she did give her a dress and a subject, Marly was right! As she sat down, Lily hugged her from the side, just happy her friend was happy. “Well, a butterbeer sounds like good fun.” She hesitated before pulling away and flopping down on the bed entirely. “And make sure to have fun.”

" We’ll see about that.” she teased Lily and flopped down on the bad as well. Closing her eyes for a moment before opening them again. “ We’ll probably talk about Quidditch since there’s a game coming up...” she trailled off casually, ut then shurgged. “ And that’s all, I guess. What are you going to do on that day?” she asked turning to face Lily.

James laughed softly as she started reminiscing. “Not at all,” he said, glancing to her. “You sound like someone who’s realized she’s going to graduate next year.” He grinned, looking around the lake happily. “I love this place; I’ll really miss it when we leave.”

" With everything going on, i almost forget we have hard exams to take next year, yes.” she responded him with a smile on her lips as she turned to face him. “ Even with the Squib? That’s probably not going to miss us.” she teased him, the smile growing larger.

Lily tilted her head, grinning. “Of course not. If he asks why you’re so dressy, just explain that you let me dress you and then you guys can talk about my weird affinity for dressy.” With that, Lily sat back down, swinging her legs off the bed. “So…what are you guys going to do on your…not-date?”

" You borrowed me your dress and told me a subject to talk about that, can you be more perfect? “ Marlene teased with a small smile on her lips as she intended to jump on her bed - but stopped herself, satting normally on it. “ I don’t know?” she said, licking her lips in response. “ I guess he mentioned something about getting a butterbeer? Nothing more. Like I said, it’s not a big deal.”

She was relieved Marlene didn’t protest at trying on the dress. When they got to their dorm, Lily went straight to her closet and opened it up. Finding the short red dress, she twirled around to see Marlene. “Try it!” Waving her hands toward the bathroom, Lily shooed Marlene off to get dressed. When she came back, she was sitting expectantly on the bed, beaming from ear to ear. “Gorgeous, as always.”

Marlene sighed deeply as she looked down at her. She wasn’t a fan of dresses at all, But, she had to admit - Lily was right. She looked good in red. Stepping out of the bathroom, she looked at Lily with a small smile resting on her lips. “ Thanks, Lils. “ she hugged her tightly, pulling away after a few moments. “ I have to admit, I look okay in it. But, don’t you think it’s too much for not-a-date? “

Who are you closer to: Lily, James, or Sirius?

Well, that’s a though one. I’ve known James since I was little and he was the first friend I had, excluding my brothers. And Lily was my first girl friend ;; we’ve been best friends since day one. If I had big news, problemes or anything - I would go to both of them for help since me and Sirius aren’t that close. So, I guess the answer is Lily and James.

Lily grinned up at her, glad she had the okay. “Red dresses and blonde hair go together perfectly, buttercup!” She took her hand, tugging her along to the dormitory, imagining Marlene in the most beautiful dress with her hair done perfectly. “I’ll have you try it on, hmm?”

“ Are you sure. sweetheart? “ she asked and before she could tell anything more Lily dragged her to the girls’ dormitory. “ I thought we were going to the Great Hall ... but fine, I will try the dress for you. “ she wasn’t the perfect girl for trying dresses and girly stuff but she couldn’t say no when Lily was so excited and she finally forgot about Severus.

He grinned up at her. “I don’t care what we do,” he said, shrugging. He was content to do whatever, especially since it seemed to keep Marlene’s mind off of other things. 

They got down to the lake after a few minutes, but she stopped. James smiled faintly. “What is it, Marly?”

 She suddenly stopped, analyzing the lake with her eyes.After a brief moment of thinking, she turned to face him with a small smile on her lips. It looks like the plan was working. “ Do you remember our first year at Hogwarts? “ she asked out of nowhere and continued.

 “ Everything was so easy back then, we were kids. My biggest fear was being caught by Filch after the bed time. I mean, he still scares me ;; but I’ve been in so many detentions that I can’t even count. But remember how scared I was before coming here? Scared that I won’t be able to make girl friends. I truly miss that time.“ she finally stopped, a small sigh escaping her lips. “ I just sounded like a worried mother, didn’t I?”

If it wasn’t a date why did she want to wear a dress? Oh right, she was hopelessly in love with Sirius and wanted to impress him no matter what it was. Knowing how Marlene cared for him, she just grinned at her best friend. “Oh you are wearing a dress if you like it or not. I have the perfect red dress, it’ll go just below your knees and it’s more meant for your figure than mine.”

“ Red dress? “ the blonde asked  unsure, thinking for a second before shaking her head. She doesn’t have a good history with red dresses, but she trusts Lily.“Are you sure blonde hair an red dress is a good combination? “ she asked and moved her eyes from the shelf to Lily  once again. “ Fine, I'lllet  my faith on your hands on this one, just because you know me better than myself at this kind of things... “

James smiled warmly and nodded. It was always a relief that his cousin had the same idea of relaxing as he did; flying was so freeing. “I think we could manage that,” he agreed with a grin, glancing over at her as she pulled him along. 

“Where are you taking me, or are we just walking aimlessly?” he asked curiously, trying to keep up. For such a short person, she could walk quickly.

“ Perfect, then, it’s so nice to have the Quidditch captain as your cousin.” she teased a small smile resting on her lips as she continued to guide him. She enjoyed walking around,  “ I am not in a mood for Hagrid’s cooking or the danger from the Forbidden Forest. And I can’t get near flowers without charming them not to smell...So,we  will either stop near the lake or just continue walking.” she explaing turning to face him as she continued to walk.    “ It’s fine with you? “
