An open letter to the man who thinks I am the one, here are a few things you need to know.
I wrote a thing! Check it out!
We've been trained to believe that we're going to fail. We have been silently trained to believe that we are not good enough. We have been trained to believe that what other people say defines us. We have been trained to be ashamed of being wrong and afraid of being right. We have been trained to know and accept all of the double standards in our world. We have been trained to believe that we are nothing more than numbers and we have been trained to accept that. We have been taught that no matter how hard we try to find one, there is no common ground that everyone can stand on. We have been trained to look at the negative aspects of our lives rather than the positive. What can we fix? What can we change? We are looking for answers in a world that doesn't have just one, no, it has thousands of "answers". Thousands of choices, to make you second guess yourself and choose B instead C, but then wonder if you should have tried B so you try it and hate them both and you try A instead and when that doesn't work, you give up until D comes along and it's like... The carousel never stops turning. You know?We have been trained to never be happy with who we are, with what we have, with how far we have come. We're all searching for an answer to the same question, "Who. Am. I?", and society and the media have thousands of answers for us. But, neither actually knows you... So, why are we asking such a personal question to an audience that isn't even listening?
The End of a Year
Tonight marks the end of 2015. Looking back, this year has put me through hell, but brought me so much joy. It’s ended friendships and started new ones. It’s taught me to fight for what I want in my life. It’s shown me how strong I am. It’s also broke me down and sent me spiraling, but managed to help me get back up again. This year has been full of so much life, so many memories, so many lessons, and helped me make so many important decisions. It’s been a good year and I’m hopeful that 2016 will be even better.
I hope all of you will stay with me as I continue this blog. My 365 day countdown may be over, but a new chapter is just beginning. <3
